HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

You have to search hard to find customer service phone numbers on the HP Store site. It is hidden behind all of the Sales phone numbers. My online order status hadn't changed except for moving the ship day back one day without showing anything has been done to fulfill my order. The offshore customer service tried to act like my order first had shipped, but couldn't find any tracking information. Then they said there could be delays and that I would get an email, which I had not. Translation... no one knows the status of my order. Of course my payment for the computer was taken almost 2 weeks ago when the order was placed.
Bought an HP 13.3" Envy x-360 convertible on September 2021 which I paid for with PayPal. After 10 months of use the battery is not holding charge for as many hours as it used to do. Now after a full charge it holds charge for no more than a couple of hours. On August 22,2022 I started a chat with an HP.com customer service technical support expert. After I explained the battery issue to the technician, roshni koyippurathu, and I gave him/her all the information requested from me - and after a 45 minutes chat, he/she said he/she was going to start a test over the internet and that it could take some 20 more minutes but perhaps even longer. I said "you have got to be kidding me". I clearly felt he/she was giving me the run-around, so I asked him/her to give me the name and phone number of his/her supervisor. He/she never did. He/she indicated he/she was going to arrange for a supervisor to give me a call. They never did. I am quite frustrated and disappointed at HP.com. They never gave me a solution to my battery issue; on the contrary, they just tried to get me tired so I would just hang up. - HP, NEVER AGAIN will I buy from you guys ever.
Brand new out of the box never used won't work, called the 24 hour Customer support services nobody will answer. Waste of money and piece of $#*!
I bought my HP printer about 2 years ago and subscribed to have cartage ink sent to me when needed. For the past 2 years I barely used my printer and have the same ink in. So I decided to cancel my membership, my plan was $5.99 a month for about 100 pages. I am at 31 pages printed this month and HP blocked my printer. I am not able to print anything. They asked me to remove the ink that I have and buy another one. The last time HP mailed me a new cartage was 2 years ago, which is fully paid off but they don't want me to use it. What a scam! How HP fell entitled to your money!
I would rate this zero- but that's not an option. I purchased a printer, it would not connect to Wifi- I've been transferred 6 times with no resolution. I've contacted my internet provider- everything is secure, but I still can't get this printer to connect. And apparently they can't either. I will never purchase another HP product. No one knows what the hell their doing.
While attempting find a laptop for my first year of college I thought I had found a great deal on the laptop I had spent months researching. I got a student discount with HP's Education account and everything was going well. The price was within my budget with every feature I needed. During checkout, I viewed the price verification and it said $682 (some odd cents) this price was confirmed twice. However when I hit "place order" the price was changed to $988.97 and this new amount was taken out of my account. I have since canceled the order and it said credit would be dispursed to my bank within 3-5 business days. I won't even be able to order a laptop for school for another week and I no longer have enough money in my account to order any other supplies I will need. Overall I am deeply upset and will be using another site and company to order my laptop from as my trust has been broken and encourage everyone else to do the same.
They won't let you get any support. They send you to one place to another then they still won't give any help
I bought a laptop. A hard disk broke and I lost all the data. Opening a program causes CPU's temperatures to rise above 90°C. Few keycaps broke. A battery's capacity went down a lot and soon after the battery stopped working and now won't even charge. There's some more bad things about the laptop but there's just so many that I don't even remember them.
I bought an HP 60 ink cartridge some time ago as a spare for when the ink cartridge in my printer ran out of ink. A few days ago my existing ink cartridge was almost out of ink so I installed the new cartridge. It wouldn't print. I tried various things to get it to print but nothing worked. Finally I poked a small hole through the paper on top of the cartridge trying to determine the status of the ink in the cartridge. If you know about ink cartridges you know they are filled with some type of course foam designed to hold ink.
Absolutely the most difficult printer to install! I had to pay a computer expert to install this piece of crap! It only worked for 2 months! Will be putting it out in the garbage tonight and purchase a Canon printer!
Please allow me to add my voice to the chorus of 1-star reviews for this company. We have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 (4-in-1) printer. The printing and copying functions are fine. The fax function is obsolete at this point, but that's not HP's fault.
What HP is responsible for is some breathtakingly bad decisions regarding the scan function. It used to be extremely easy to scan a document with this printer: just place it on the glass and press scan. Not anymore. HP reached (virtually) into my scanner without my permission or approval and literally changed how it operates.
Now it ONLY can scan thru an application on my laptop - and even requires users to set up an account! Way to shake customers down for their big data, HP. Even worse still, the scan function went from something that took seconds to literally several minutes per page. It is just painful to create even a 2-page document. Very disappointing. Not buying this brand again.
Really bad printers... I have a Pagewide "PRO" 477... It sucks about everything! Printing quality is the worst, 2021 and they do not have a decent touch screen technology? It keeps freezing and always have to restart by pulling the plug because it wont even let me restart, the only good thing about it was being able to use aftermarket cartridges so I don't have to pay a ton of money for their ink which is a rip off until today that they updated the firmware and it won't accept the third party chips anymore. I have a wide format designjet t3500 with same problems, bad touch screen and suddenly freezes... I bought this two machines because like 10 years ago I purchased a designjet 2100 and still operating as new, just some flaws about the printheads but those are changeable and I consider them consumables, sad to see after the years instead of improving they just converted to a scam company selling junk.
WORST LAPTOP EVER... EXCEPT FOR THEIR SERVICE WHICH IS WORSE STILL
ALSO, THEY ARE SUPER CHEAP AND MISERLY WITH RETURNS - THEIR PRINTERS ARE THE WORST AND THE INK A CRIMINAL RIPOFF.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I had ordered my Laser cartridges as it was urgent (have done it in the past many time and I thought I was their good customer). The shipment said that it will take 3/5 business days. After about 10 days I checked the system and it showed that USPS has misplaced it and there was no definite date. I contracted them to send me a replacement urgently as I needed it badly. They insisted that I wait but would not refund me immediately. I went to best buy and bought it as I had urgent printing. After one more week, the cartridges showed up when I had no value.
We bought a printer during COVID. HP had no cartridges for replacement. Walmart finally go them and we replaced our cartridges. Even though I was forced to sign up for Instantink I cancelled in the winter as we only use the printer during the summer. I now am told I hadn't canceled and now even though they had "suspended" my subscription, they say I have to pay for all the months even though I never received anything from them. Never buy from HP.
I was trying to get my HP to perform properly. I paid for the maintenance program because my laptop was beyond warranty. I knew better, but I needed the help. I paid and I was transferred to support where I was disconnected. I called back since I have the maintenance plan. After 2 hours the recording said I could not be helped at this time and I was disconnected again. Called again and waited another 1.5 hours with no help. Now I am stuck with a recurring fee. I received no help. Save your time and money and take your computer to a real person. I have several brands of computer, and this HP will be my last HP purchase. Nothing but problems. Good luck.
Don't touch HP. Any of their products. Should've learned my lesson after the Laptop. Hoped the printer would be better. Their customer service is non existent.
DO NOT subscribe to the HP Ink replenishment service. If you cancel, you will have to remove the ink inside your printer and purchase new ink. You'll get an error message "Incompatible HP Instant Ink Cartridges". I sent them a giant amount of money with the monthly fees for ink I could've purchased for a lot less. Customer service is not local to your country, of course, and therefore no help. You don't get any return label or warning the existing ink will stop working. See my screenshot, ink is nearly full and now will be wasted. HP has become a scam company.
The instant ink cartridges stop working as soon as you cancel a subscription, so the remaining ink in them is wasted. Terrible for my wallet, terrible for the environment, and terrible business practice.
I lost connection to my printer June of 2021. It was a long and hard battle to get my account closed. During which, I was charged $20 for ink that I had never used. Today, July of 2022, I was charged again on my bank account. I was told by two separate people that my account was closed MONTHS ago. So why am I being charged for ink I NEVER USED?
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
