I have been using a mobility device for 8 or 9 years now. Both were not a Hoveround, so when I found out I was finally getting a new Hoveround I was excited to say the least. My new device is everything I expected it to be. Thank you Hoveround!
This is the second time that the chair has broken down. I was on hold with a so called tech that made my blood boil. 2 hours on hold and nothing resolved but making me lose my temper. Never again and I will tell anyone who asked that this chsir is the worst thing that can happen to you.
Ron, Hoveround's representative from Jacksonville Florida did an outstanding in setting up my new power wheelchair. Was very impressed with his knowledge of the powerchair and its operation. This is my second powerchair from Hoveround and I am very satisfied with their products and services.
I was very impressed with the guy that delivered my hovearound and am very happy with it. He showed me how to use it and explained in detail all its features. My hovearound has already made my life a lot easier. I started falling and my legs were going out from under me. The hovearound arrived right on time. Thank you!
My client just received his hooveround, absolutely worse chair for his needs. The first issue is it don't come apart to transport so he's still stuck at home, second he lives in an older home the car will not fit through some doorways. I have made numerous calls and no help in this matter. It's ashame The scooter store is no longer in business they were 100 times more customer active.
I had to call to find out about my request for new chair. Was informed that my request was denied because all reports was not in and miss read. No phone call or letter was sent to me. I had both copies of report mailed or faxed to company stating that I needed a power wheelchair.

I thought I was getting a new hoover round. I didn't realize it was a refurbished one until I got the completed paperwork a few weeks later in the mail. Because of covid they don't have you sign paperwork they than send paperwork via USPS so you have no way of knowing. I knew something wasn't right when we noticed how scratched up the arms were on the chair. The person who delivered it said the trucks do that. Just take a razor and that should help with that he told us. Looking back now I realize why they are all scratched up, from previous owners hitting entry ways. I think it's unfair practice telling customers one thing than delivering something else.
I am a disabled male who can only use one side of my body hoverround is nothing but a run around hide behind excuses the chair they brang me has been messed up since i got it told them the first day i got it something was wrong with it fast forward 2 weeks and it wont turn on wont do a thing the tech checked it said it was defective yet here it sits in my kitchen doing me no good i asked for a new chair to replace it since i have had it less then a month and they are making me jump threw hops to get anything done at all the service of this company is not worth a damn and the techs dont seem to know much i think this company needs to be shutdown
I got the chair delivered, and didn't realize it didn't come with the tie down hooks. When I called, they said that was extra, and charged me $344. So I paid it. I waited 3 weeks, then called to check up on the order, they said they couldn't process the order because she forgot to charge me tax. Why did no one call to let me know that. OK, so I paid the tax. Still nothing. I called back, and now they are saying it's another month because they are out of stock. I left 4 messages for a supervisor to call me back, haven't heard a word. So I've had a chair for 2 months in my home, which my insurance is paying monthly for, and I can't use it. Worst customer Service ever. I may just return the chair, and start the process over with another company.
My MIL has had no quality of life since hers broke. She is stuck at home now, with nothing to do and her mental health is suffering. She has been getting the run around for years with repairs, there is no customer service, they make appts they don't show up for, bring the wrong parts when they do show up. She will get so excited thinking a repair will get her moving again, then they will cancel or not show up or not be able to fix it. She has not had a chair since January. We spent the night in the ER, she gets confused over what day it is now that she is home sleeping all day. I will be getting involved now.
Hoveround calls everyday to tell me (the patient) that they think that the paperwork is incorrect. Call the friggin' Doctor already! I cringe when they call. Horrible people to deal with and it has been over a year! Never good enough!
The lady at hoverround and i made appointment with my doctor shannon taylor to be assessed for power chair but i when arrived no paperwork had been faxed to them so nothing could be down to apply for a new chair.

My father recieved excellent service from hoveround service representatives. They were very curteous and patient and more than willing to assist me whenever i called. I did not have any problems getting him another chair.
I haven't even gotten my Hoveround yet and the customer service is lacking. Confusion about my add on order. Confusion about the date they scheduled to drop it off. They scheduled for a day that the guy that was supposed to deliver needed off. Hopefully I get it during the next scheduled time! Kinda disappointing since they are so expensive and I already paid for it. They there is confusion about the accessories I ordered!

I don't understand all the negative comments on here. I have a hoover round and have never had any problems with it what so ever. I used it on my farm to get around and went up and down hills on the grass and never had one problem getting anywhere on it. The battery life is also amazing.
The wheelchair that we have is over 7 years old. My wife has MS and is in that chair for 14 to 16 hours a day.
At 5 years we requested a replacement and the insurance company delayed for two months. Finally they approved a new battery, new arm with controls and new wheels. Now the Hoveround seat hurts my wife
While sitting in it for 14 to 16 hours. The battery charger is hard for her to attach and the chair had squeaks
As it moves from room to room.

Physical condition. We are waiting for Hoveround to submit a new request to the insurance company to replace the wheel chair with a new one.
Because a friend gave my husband his chair, he is not a priority. His chair will not charge, I paid they're $125.00 fee to have a Tec come out within 3 days. Well no one showed up yet. They might be out Monday. Today is Wendsday. My husband can't even get into the bathroom. I'm calling another company and getting him a new chair from another company. If your thinking about getting a chair from this company, do yourself a favor, keep looking.

When my husband went from strait medicare to Humana, Hoveround refused to send Humana the paperwork which they had from the doctor which they submitted to get the chair approved to begin with. I called and asked them to do this every week for months. Finally, Humana denied the claim for the rest of the chair because Hoveround would not provide them with the paperwork. We were told we had to make the rest of what was owed (over $1200) in three payments or they were coming out to take back the chair. I was able to borrow the money for 2 months of it. We are on the final month, there is approximately $500 owed and we cannot pay it. They are now going to take back the chair from a totally disabled man that cannot walk at all. Now he will have to crawl on the floor to even go to the toilet.
All I have to say is "don't buy a Hoveround". It would take me a day to write the problems we have had and it started a month after my husband received it. The company will tell you one thing and never follow through with it including you not having to pay for parts they said you wouldn't have to pay for. They lie and don't care if they leave a handicap person in stranded.
Answer: So sorry to hear that. I am no longer living with my father-in-law, but I can add to my earlier review and comments. The company did exactly the same thing to him, again. A year later. They got in touch to say that Medicare had accepted their appeal and that the chair was now finally his, and they sent a guy round with the paperwork for signature and everything looked great. It subsequently turned out that Medicare hadn't approved anything and didn't know anything at all about the appeal, and that they were not going to pay. The story that Hoveround gave me was smoke and mirrors and back came the bill for the chair again. As far as I know, a year and a half on, the chair is still not officially his. I probably won't hear anything more about it now, but I'm quite glad I don't have to deal with these people yet again.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
