I took advantage of the Hostgator Black Friday sale to get my new business website setup. It's been a bit slow for me to get setup over the holidays but with what I have done so far, everything has worked as expected. I had one issue on the initial setup of the site and the technical support rep I dealt with was knowledgeable about the issue and got it resolved quickly.
This company has changed horribly in the past few years. I don't understand how an excellently ran company can just go to complete disarray. They tell you to get services that give you spam and then tell you to pay to have them remove it. I have been with this company for years without incident and then 3 years ago I started getting foreign customer service agents, viruses on my websites, it's been one thing after another. I'm so disappointed and they couldn't care less. I guess the days of appreciating your loyal customers is gone.
I have been a client for 20+ years. They treat me well, they treat me like crap. It depends on the rep I get. I am a big fan of Cherry. I am not sure how many you have but she is worthy of recognizing. As a company, you don't treat me like a 20+ year client. That is too bad.
I;ve had an escalated case open for several days now... I'm not able to access my domains admin panels... I get a 404 error and when I transferred my site and domains to you it wasn't done correctly and old DNS info is still in there. My site is only half working, many images are broken... moving to hostgator has been anything but good so far
It's been 5 contacts that I am trying to resolve an issue with no solution. I cannot receive email *******@goodbyememo.com (I can send). This issue should be resolved without making the site www.goodbyememo.com unreachable
Always professional and ready to help. One of the reasons why I'm still with them for more than 10 years now.
I think this newer system of Hostgator creating a temporary site for me - totally sucks! I have built 53 websites and this site has become a big pain in my neck. Sure would have been nice to sign up for hosting, download WordPress my site and then build it...by myself instead of all this temporary...and done for me garbage. I'll try one more time. If I can't get it going I'll move it to BlueHost.
Excellent customer service. I tried other providers and especially with technical issues and connecting different services together, its not uncommon to encounter unique problems whose solutions you can't solve by googling.
Other providers have customer services but i feel like they don't even understand my problem or they are just bots.
With Hostgator, every time i have a technical issue, the customer support actually understands the problems, answers my questions and helps solve the problem. Even if i there is a cheaper hosting provider out there, i would not want to change the service because the help with technical issues is worth way more to me than a few bucks per month.
A lot of billing and portal - customer interface issues.
Consistently negative experience on the new customer portal.
Issues with billing and SEO / Business Hosting management. Overpaid, can't switch SiteLock; still isn't set up properly and it's been 3 months. Feel they dropped the ball on this;
Also HATE the opening screen where it blatantly lies, flat-out lies to me as a customer and tries to falsely sell me into domain privacy, which I already have. You have really done a number, HostGator and it's gotten way worse than six months ago. I'm not impressed. Weird new look, but too many inconsistencies and it feels like you're lying to me as business partner.
I was recommended HostGator by several people after using various over hosting and domain services over the last 15 years and unfortunately the service has left a lot to be desired!
I deliberately bought my new domain directly through yourselves as well as the hosting to make it a seamless process however that hasn't been the case!
In over 15 years of creating websites for my businesses I have never waited more than an hour to be able to use my wordpress interface, however with HostGator I am still waiting for you to activate my new domain something which is instant with most providers.
It's safe to say that I am very unhappy with this service so far! I am working to tight deadlines on this project and this is unacceptable.
Hi Adam,
Oh no! We definitely want to look into this and see what we can do to help you out. Our escalations team will be in touch soon to do just that. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I chose hostgator and have been working with them for a long time. Changes are being made onto the platform subsequently. Changes are affecting email accounts and so on. Right now 5 of my email accounts are requesting for password. Why is this so? Never encountered such issues before.
I had a renewal of my hosting with HostGator. I have been trying from past 3-4 days to get my account renewed but I am facing a lot of troubles with that. I am continuously connecting with your agents via chat but no body could help me properly. I have been trying to connect via call but none of the calling customer care numbers works in India. I am unable to make payment from my end and whenever the representative tries to make payment, it doesn't go through. I need to solve this issue asap, as I am facing a lot of trouble due to this. Please contact me on *******221.
I've been a long time customer and am not pleased with making it more difficult to chat with my HostGator friends. I have to jump through too many hoops to get to a chat or a phone call to actually talk to somebody. But hey, I guess that's the way things are going now. What I loved about you guys is you didn't adopt this model. Looks like us webmasters have to accept this. I have several sites with Hostgator as well.
I am a loyal customer to hostgator for more than 10 years. Everything is fine. High technology. Great customer service.
What i really recommend for them, is to review the prices some how it need to be reduced for a loyal customers like me
Thank you guys

You have deleted all historic invoices and as a customer, that's really inconvenient - whether it works for you or not. Despite a lengthy conversation, I still don't have access. The simple solution is that you either put these bac and listen to your customers or I'm going to switch hosting companies. Sorry, but I'll not be bullied by practices that work for you but not me as a customer. It's absurd that I can't access historic invoices.
I have tried to set up an additional domain name for a new website that I am creating. I was charged the fee for the 2-year plan but now when I try to access it gator.com is showing it as not registered. I reached out to customer service/ tech support and was told it should be updated in 24 hours, but that has not happened either.
Hey Melissa,
While we aren't Gator.com we can see what we can do to help! We have asked an Escalations Manager to reach out!

HostGator is having trouble managing their platform. The new Credit card is not being updated it its system. Therefore, it would not charge for a domain name which I could have lost. Platform looks keeps changing making more confusing. I had to call in to renew because HostGators platform froze! And, representative didn't ask me if the address for the new credit card was the same - which is Not! Waiting My Time! Management is Not paying attention and not making the system easier for a nice customer experience.
Good support and features. A good entry offer (Discounted the first year). But now it is not cheap anymore. I'm considering moving to another hosting company. My baby plan only allows 2 sites. I have a couple of domains with emails only (no website) and now I have to go live with a third domain and it requires I upgrade. So basically, i have no website, only emails associated with a couple of domains, and now I need to upgrade and pay more. Not a good deal definitively. I'm in the market for a cheaper solution for custom domain email only. Thanks.
Customer support is what sets HostGator apart. You can compare prices and technical specifications and find a great many web hosting companies that would appear to offer very similar services. I have never found a hosting company that offers 24/7 customer support with the level of expertise and dedication provided by the folks at HostGator. I can trust that if there is any problem with the websites I host for clients that I will be able to get it solved quickly with the help of HostGator technical support.
Host gator has not provided support to keep my account protected, so I will not be renewing as a customer. They exposed my personal address for years without my awareness and have no protection for spam account trying to access personal information through their email. Also the email constantly kicks me out and I have to re-login after a short time. The last time I was a customer they dismantled my business email without notifying me. I should have never reinstated my account. Customer service is sometimes helpful, sometimes they don't listen. I am complete with this relationship.
Answer: Do not know something similar. Actually Hostgator is one of its kind! Partners of mine use Hostgator, too!
Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
