I almost gave you 4 stars but then I realized that everything I needed was provided. I had to build a fresh Drupal site and launch it within a very short window. HG's SSH access was perfect. The ability to generate pubkeys from HG allowed me to add a GIT repo when I feared I would have to go many rounds of support calls/chats/emails/etc to get that set up.
I'm a skilled Linux server admin but the client really wanted to use HG. I have to say, this went very very well! HG and your team offer a quality service that even Web Pros can appreciate and use.
Please tell someone to add a "close" button so that we can hide the Message Us chat box. It blocks other important stuff. You can't tell it this but have to choose a product you need help with. I just want to get rid of the box.
Low initial price. Price after initial period is outrageous and not properly posted. I had to perform a Google search to find your actual pricing. Shady bait and switch tactics. I will be changing to a different hosting service.
Most of the people had no clue why this problem occurred. I had to literally tell them what was supposed to be done... First three agents disconnected the chat saying "oh on my end the website is working" without knowing that my ip could be blocked on their side. I think that the agents are not well trained
Because I became familiar with it 11 years ago with a pretty good impression of it, it had impressive tech support then. My biggest problem with it now is the raised cost of hosting and I know I can find a better deal elsewhere, so I might not be 'here' for long.
Total rubbish, customer service lack of technical knowledge and competence, completely useless. I'll make sure to cancel the renewal at the end of the contract. Other providers offer better assistance, products and services,
I have been trying to update my website for the past month, I dont get any support or feedback when I log a ticket. I have logged a ticket 3 times already. I have been with hostgator from 2016 but the service is very bad in the last year.
I have experienced very good customer service that is dedicated to providing its customers with resolutions. This domain provider works great for web professionals, but anyone of any knowledge level can use the service because of the customer service.

I loose SSL every now and then, Currently website gives 403 error and I cant access the site. And your agent says it's because of ssl again. Why cant the site just be up consistently like other hosting platforms?
After a mistake in transferring my account from baby server to pro server, it has taken me several phone call and plenty of frustration to get no where. I purchased two baby servers to accommodate the domains I wish to keep and I still can't get them moved. All the good reviews I gave for phone support ultimately were wrong. Nothing came of the calls. I'm still in limbo.
After trying quite a few getting no where i read the reviews for hostgator and since joining you things have become a lot easier and the staff are very professional hence I will be moving all sites to hostgator

It was recommended to me. However the prices have increased massively in the last 12 months but the service has not. The price increase is beyond the level of inflation and I am now shooping for a new host.
Cost has gone way up and service way down. I am a long time customer but I will tell you I am shopping my needs. I used to be able to pick up the phone get help and get back to work. Now it's an impossible long wait and forced to chat which is no better. Clear communication via current platform is frustrating. The huge price increase now takes you out of a value provider to a high end provider. Problem is your level of service has gone down way down.
Even though I've updated the PhP my site still gives me an error to update it. And for some reason I'm getting a "You Don't Have Permission to Access this page" even though I'm the only one on the account. Also, you're "Chat" is a joke. You know it's probably a chat bot and it never appears.

You have been a reliable host so far. The new version requires more and confusing steps for me to access to my files to update. I use Visual Studio to create content, then upload to HostGator. Your priority should provide "how to make it easy to access and update my files", instead of selling me features I don't need. Thank you, guys for being a good reliable host. Our website is very simple, but I am working now in the possible enhance of it. So far we haven't had any problems. We are starting to use the email and it is working so far very good.
I had hostgator for a few years, but just recently the support has been not good. I believe since you guys offer new services developing websites you do not provide support for self host clients like myself. One of the reason why I had you as hosting company was for the great customer service and support with issues on the actual website contents. Now I need to pay extra for web developing and hosting services without support, which in essence there are faster hosting companies who offer better deals with the limited support you guys offer now. It is a big disappointment, I know you guys have to make money but for people like me who was using your service for self develop websites now i have to look for other options.
So far tech support is not helping and does not understand what I am saying. Not sure if it's a language barrier or not, but 1st level support is not working. You changes to the environment are much more cumbersome than the previous version and you system keeps timing me out after on a minute or two.
You have recently charged my brother (Sergei Orgunov) for his business account for 3 years but the order is not on the order list. There is no way to retrieve his receipt for his tax purposes. I've been using Hostgator for about 20 years and never had any problems. Yet, since you changed your portal, I see glitches like missing header and it has become much harder to navigate to where I need to go. I am not sure I will want to continue using your service or refer anyone else to it (as I always did) after this major glitch in your system. He has been calling you but got nothing. Please fix it for him as soon as possible. He paid more than $700, he has the charge on his credit card and no money was returned. This is highly unprofessional.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
