Opted for their cancellation program- they messed up my refund and didn't inform me either. I had to contact them and ask them, otherwise they had no plans of telling me. There is no customer service, every email is a different person, pretty sure it all ran by bots. If anything goes wrong with your booking, your doomed.

Most of their reviews are fake. Avoid at all costs

A lot of times flights are actually cheaper if you look on google flights. This is a great tool for seeing easily what days are cheaper but I always book directly with the airline now. Hoppers customer service doesn't reply for at least a day almost every time I've contacted them and it is only through text they don't offer any real on the phone communication. You are not allowed to resolve issues with your airline by calling them because hopper has to handle all issues before the day of.

I like dealing with Hopper and recently purchased air tickets. When my credit card bill came, there were three charges and thru the app asked for an explanation. Response was quick, I had to send screen shot of my bill. Their explanation was a bit confusing to follow but added up as to the two charges that I expected but they never mentioned the third charge. I had to ask for help again. That time the reply was that the $100 charge was for 24 hour cancellation protection, which I did not want or need but I do remember the process of electing out of some options was a bit tricky. BEWARE.

Utterly dissatisfied!

I cannot believe what these guys get away with. Never in my life have I experienced such low-rate customer service. Passed through 4 reps over 3 days to make a simple flight change. They do not have a direct line to contact and any issues (however urgent) must be processed through the app. Over the course of several days I was unable to have the issue resolved, and was speaking with reps who did not even know what time zone I was in. All said and done they cost me over $700 in additional fees to return home. This app is entirely unethical, and majorly flawed. Not recommended in the least! I would love to go into more detail, but space here is limited. Absolutely useless service. I am downright disgusted with how it was handled. DO NOT BOOK WITH HOPPER!

Worse Company Ever
February 12, 2024

As I'm currently writing this review, I'm sitting in a hotel lobby for over 9 hours trying to get a room that I paid for 3 weeks in advance. Customer service keeps hanging up on me. No one calls you back. I've spoken to 3 supervisors as of the moment and currently am writing this review while I have one on the phone. My body hurts from sitting in this lobby all day. I traveled from NY to Louisiana straight 23 hr drive and I'm exhausted, all I wanted to do was shower and go to sleep. You can't reach no one but if you do they hang up on you. Worse company ever. Do not use.

AVOID THIS APP! This place is such a scam! Any business that doesn't offer a customer service phone number is shady. I tried booking a hotel room and when I did my payment, it said it did not go thru and to try again later. However within seconds of paying, they charged my credit card. There's no phone number to call. In the app itself there is no way to reach anyone. Save yourself the aggravation and go with a big company you know and trust like Expedia or Booking.com. You wind up spending time on the phone disputing your cc and getting aggravated and it's not worth it.

This app watches ticket prices, predicts pricing trends and notifies you when there's any changes. I haven't used the in-app booking yet, but I give 5 stars just for the price drop & price increase notifications. It does the work so you don't have to worry!

Incorrect charge
March 14, 2022

I was charged more than the listed hotel price. It was listed as $150 and I was charged $182. Hopper said they use a direct booking link between their hotel partners and so prices fluctuate. It's not fair to charge differently than what is listed. Additionally, there was around $50 in hidden fees.

It's all a lure...

This app sucks. They tell you one price and then "oops, not enough room!" so you have to go through this painful process of trying to find something of a similar piece and just get tricked into what all the other sites are advertising. Also, their customer support is none. At least with Expedia or trip you have chat support. This app will maybe email you if they feel like it to help you out. Good luck getting your money back. Not worth the hype. I will not book with this app ever again!

I've used this for several years, now, and this app is always amazingly accurate and helpful. It updates my flight scenarios regularly by sending an email with new rates. It even suggests nearby airports that have better deals, if I'm willing to drive a little farther. Once you find a good deal, you can click on it to book. Simple and stress free. I've turned a lot of my friends onto this little gem. So, what are you waiting for? Hop to it! ;)

My last message to hopper:
I spoke with AirCanada: They said it could have been a full refund back to original form of payment if you would have purchased the refundable package they offer. Which you should have done. Since i purchased refundable ticket insurance through you (Hopper). I will be filing a formal complaint through the Department of Transportation on Monday, December 21,2020 (12/21/20). As well as reaching out to my credit card company to help aid in getting the money refunded. I have reached out multiple times to handle this cordially. However due to your lack of response and inability to come through as promised these steps shall be taken.

While I typically love using this app to book flights and find the cheapest, most convenient options, the customer service is absolutely terrible. I try to maintain a patient, open mind to these things as I understand the high volume of requests that come in. However, waiting for over a week (and still waiting!) to hear back from anyone in the company is completely unacceptable. Only having a semi-functioning chat option and no direct phone number does not make this customer service 24/7. I am worried that the more time I wait for someone to let me change my flight, as I can only do so through Hopper, airfare will go up and there will not be flight availability. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional and I will no longer be using Hopper after this experience. Can someone from the support team please just get back to me? Again, I have been waiting A WEEK. Disappointed, anxious, and making my booking experience more stressful than ever.

Trying to get a hold of anyone is beyond impossible. They claim to have a "chat" available. Good luck with getting a response. Several hours after writing this review and 6 hours after starting a chat with them I finally received a response. After some back and forth they did finally agree to honor the frozen price even though the airline adjusted the times in those flights. I'd say the app it great for letting you know when prices drop but unfortunately I'd be worried to freeze or purchase from them. But in the end they said they'll honor it. I'll see if I get my money back as promised.

Price Freeze Function
November 16, 2019

Super sick about this. Found a flight used the Price Freeze option for my group of 4. Not only did it not work when I returned to pay the system has been down since Thursday afternoon.

I sent messages via chat no response. I cannot find a phone number. The system is still down today. You cannot search or view anything you have in the "hopper" (no pun intended)

If the system is out at least send notification or post something.,

Zero customer service phone number, text only, 24 hours to get them to tell you they will review it and someone will ping me back. Just want to make a simple flight change 4 days later still no answer. I'm too close to departure now so I paid again For the flight I needed. I even paid for the cancellation insurance. Hopper is Garbage

Listen. It's almost near impossible to get with a rep. It says a representative will reach out to you within 24 hours well it's been 48 hours since my first message were sent and still haven't received a response. The price of the flight isn't worth it if you can't receive assistance on your trip when needed it's completely ridiculous that a travel site doesn't have a number or a live agent for communication. Terrible customer service in my opinion and for that this will be my last time booking through that site. My advice is to go with a different travel site or book directly through the airline.

No Customer Service!

I booked a flight in April, i think cancelled it several months later. The app doesn't reflect the cancellation and they have removed the options to change or cancel flights. There is no customer service number to call, no real time chat service either. You can only submit a request and wait for them to respond. And wait, and wait, and wait, until you cut your losses and chalk it up as a lesson learned. I don't think they started as a fraudulent company, but once the pandemic hit, something went terribly wrong, and now what they are doing likely borders on illegal activity. They brag about their investors on their website, so I would encourage folks to also reach out to those investors as well with these complaints.

Hoppers customer service is horrible! The only contact is through chat! It's very slow and inconvenient! If there are any issues with your flight they don't offer any help they advised me to talk to airline! So what's the point of using hopper? My flight was delayed two hours and would miss my connecting flight to London. The next day..... sorry no refund !! Only use it for updates on prices! Trust me!! If not read the other reviews

Amazing
March 5, 2020

The new price freeze tool saved me over $140 for my flight to Barcelona from Newark. Only paid $350! This app truly helps watching flights and changes in the prices way better than google flights. This is a must have app for doing any travel!
