The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

Excellent in all regards. Will use again. Was pleased with results.
Excellent work/quality. Friendly/Professional, Quick response,!quick work. I didn't have to go out and pick up anything after them- no twigs left. Would recommend these guys to anyone.
Had a air conditioning install thru the wall. This company did a professional job. Price was good, the work done was excellent. The workers were friendly and cleaned their mess up.
Very pleasant staff. Explained the process they were doing and answered any questions I had.
Excellent from the initial call back time, to arrival time, to diagnosing the problem, to solving the problem.
I had the name of a company within minutes who had great reviews. The company they recommended lived up to their reputation. This is the 2nd time I've used Home Advisor but it won't be the last.
I had a very satisfying experience with Roman's company. I highly recommend them.
Home advisor and Angi are a bad company to use
They lie tell you what you want hear
Charge you too much
Calling there customer service number is a waste of time
Do not use them at all
Pool Company- Goodwin's Pools, Pool guy that came thru Angie's List, did work twice, a good job, also did a temporary patch on my step, found 1-2 leaks ($500) and then waited weeks to come back, to patch, said it was not a permanent fix, only temporary, I asked to get fixed, permanently? Pool had no water all this time? Also, he is a very nice guy, and said he could repair pool? Then month's went by, but he is still not returning my requests to get the work done? He Just vanished? I was willing to get work done, just needed costs involved and they only gave one estimate, for the pool closing, but none on any of all the other work needed, and there is a lot! Sent multiple texts, but we have been totally ghosted? If he didn't want job, why not say so? I have left messages, no reply's? Still trying to hire someone! He did do $160 of work, on pipes, and it was greatly appreciated, but weeks went by, and still no communications? Maybe something happened to his business, I have no idea? Just all Very strange. Said they'd come back?
Our first contractor ghosted on our tile job. The person we hired from Angi's cleaned up all that was wrong, and finished the job in 7 days. 100% satisfied!
Kitchen repairs and bathroom repairs. Kevin did a great job informing us of ever step and was very prompt helpful and friendly.
Described the issue and within 10 minutes Luke called me on Thanksgiving by the way!
Overall, I'd call it a poor experience with Home Advisor. I put in a simple request for a quote on a landing site that did not identify as Home Advisor, but gave the impression these were small businesses in the area. What I found was that most calls were from telemarketing companies calling on behalf of larger businesses in the area. These companies gathered info and information about the work, then transferred me to a "local company", without sending the information. I started asking for a quote before the transfer and got sky-high quotes as much as 5x's what I ultimately paid. I was lucky to connect directly with the owner of a local business who was honest, straightforward, and came out within a few hours to fix the problem. Great! I still continued to get telemarketing calls for days and days. I ended up with a good result but did not have a good experience with Home Advisor.
On the evening of requesting installation of fixtures in our home, we had an appointment for the project within days of the initial contact with highly rated electrical provider and a licensed electrician.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
