6 month's ago i finnaly started my own handyman services and unfortunately was struggling for work, bills started piling up and then i looked into home advisor. I can't remember the guy's name but he talked to me about gambling and card game's even told me joke's but avoiding my hole concerns to signing with them and said it was just $280.00 to sign and so much money per lead. Well I'm glad i was broke! My wife has epilepsy and i told him and then after he gave up 2 month's later a Spanish woman took over and it changed to a smaller sign up fee of $125.00 and pay for leads and i still had no work and dealing with my wife's epilepsy i explained that if i paid and didn't see work i would lose my home! They of course promise me the world.
Now almost 6 month's later I've signed with a private rental company ( family owned) and they treat me like family and pay me well better then I've ever been paid my hole life and i absolutely love my job! But this company is so ruthless they now have random people calling me and they call asking if i can do work for them and they have a bedroom that needs painted, i figured it was home advisor once i said i maybe can help and then " oh well it's free to sign up but just pay for the leads " I was like " you lied to me and now you want me to sign a contract with you! Seriously they're lieing to find out if you are a contractor! Then try and hook you to fake leads to fish out your hard earned money! These people don't care i even told her i had felonies on my record and she said " as long as you haven't murdered anyone we will sign you up! " LMAO but for real it's not funny because she already knows that i will never get any job and they will simply charge me for emails to fake job's! They would have destroyed me and my wife and not cared one bit. I'm thankful for all the reviews but also i feel for all of you like me i know how hard it is we had to eat at homeless shelters because we had no money to buy food and i told home advisor this she even told me to get a loan and the work would pay me back well I'm glad the bank denied my loan that day or this review might be me living in a tent.

I have never signed with them but i do still get phone calls from them all the time like drug addicts they promise me everything and from what i hear it's all lies I've never even met anyone who has had work done by a contractor for home advisor nor a contractor who had good work with them. And my review is real i have my wife who has heard the phone calls on speaker phone and i have a flooded email from them. When she told me she didn't care about my background and as long as i wasn't a murderer, i knew it wasn't gonna be a good idea to sign and to top it off she will call me tomorrow even tho i have told her i can't do anything for them i have a job.!
Amazing how deceptive companies are and how a total stranger will destroy your life over a few hundred dollars, be careful and may GOD be your savior in these time's of hell on earth.
