Worked with them many times before.
This time it went beyond the limits.
During payment process I was charged 5 times on the amount of rental, it was explained that they had trouble in their system, unacceptable as for me, also my card was completely blocked as it exceeded weekly allowance, next day during car pickup I could not make a deposit of 800 EURO due to exceeded weekly limit on card and lost 1.5 hours just to manage this issue through my bank, nobody was willing to help even though it was HOLIDAYCARS huge mistake.
Still waiting for money to be returned after 1 week.
Another issue was with UNLIMITED MILEAGE which was advertised at the very beginning when you choose the car option, but suddenly after processed payment when VOUCHER is sent to your email I noticed that it changed to 100km per day, the first answer from HOLIDAYCARS was that I probably didn't pay attention at the beginning, I provided them screenshot where it stated UNLIMITED MILEAGE as proof, still asked to pay 12 EURO for every extra 100km. "Wonderful" approach towards customer. NOT PROFESSIONAL. SMALL CHEAP COMPANY.

The additional charges are immediately refunded to you, but it depends on your credit card company how long it will take before this amount is back in your account again. I would gladly investigate the matter regarding the limited mileage. In order to locate your reservation I do need to have your voucher number. I have sent you a Private Message, requesting your reservation details. As soon as I have received this information, I'm able to find out what has happened.

Complete SCAM, stay away

I have.
I never, never, review anything on Internet (even though I think I should) but it is impossible to not review Holiday Cars. By far the worst experience I have had as a customer.

In fact, when searching reviews about them I read some unpleasant experiences but I thought "well, there's always people who are not happy with some service", however, I emphasise, they are a complete SCAM. If you don't want to lose money don't contact them at all, if you don't know what to do with the money give to charity.

Let me describe the situation I've passed through. L wanted to rent a car for 6 days from Inverness Airport. In that sense, I paid 200 pounds to get the car and their voucher' said "Pay on arrival: fully paid". However, when I arrived at the desk they asked for an additional 1300 pounds (where only a few of it was a deposit). When I asked EuropCar why I had to pay so much they basically said that what I paid for Holiday Cars did not have any effect. The employee not only said that the insurance I paid with them did not have any effect, but he also said that he wouldn't recommend anyone Holiday Cars.

At the end of the day it makes sense because Holiday Cars is not a rental car company, they make the bridge between customer and real rental car companies. Therefore, I conclude that their job is literally trying to steal as much money as they can from people like me that is not used to rent cars. They advertise less than half of the price of normal rental car companies, but once again, they are not a rental car company. Hence, when you really get to talk with the rental company they ask you about their normal prices and the "low" budget you paid to Holiday Cars is gone.

I hope this email prevents most of the people from falling in the same mistake as I did since it completely ruined my holiday.

Horrible

Terrible company!

Terrible company! I was a few minutes late to pick up my rental and the company gave away my car! Fortunately they had another car available, but I was made to pay again, and more. I searched the information I was sent and the website for details about my situation and nothing was specific about a late policy, so I sent an email to customer service. Over a month later I receive a reply with the following amendments to their policy. Do not use this company!

Article 14 Amendments and cancellations
14.1. Cancellations and/or amendments can only be implemented via the Car hire tour operator, before the collection date and time on the Voucher. Cancellations and/or amendments must be reported before the official Period begins.
14. 2.The Car hire tour operator shall not accept cancellations or amendments that the User has agreed with the Lessor. The Car hire tour operator shall accept no cancellations after the collection time as stated on the Voucher.
14. 3.The Car hire tour operator will not apply amendment charges. Costs that are incurred as a result of amending the Reservation (changing the Period, category of car, driver name, flight number etc) however will be passed on.
14. 4.The Car hire tour operator shall offer Users that have taken the option Cancellation Protection the opportunity to cancel after deduction of the Cancellation Protection.
14. 5.The User that has not taken the option Cancellation Protection can cancel the Reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the collection time, as stated on the Voucher, if the Reservation is still under request or if they fail to take up an alternative offered by the Car hire tour operator. If this User cancels his Reservation within 48 hours of the collection time, as stated on the Voucher, the User will not receive a refund from the Car hire tour operator.
14. 6.The User will not receive a refund if the Period comes to a premature end, he collects the car late, he fails to turn up or he cancels the rental after the commencement of the Period. In above cases, refunds shall not be made even if the User has taken Cancellation Protection.
14. 7.The Cancellation Protection and transaction fee are non- refundable.

Worst car company ever

This car company is an obvious scam. They quote you at an extremely lower rate than any other company, because they hide stipulations in the small print. My wife and I booked, and paid for a car they sent us an email stating to bring
-DRIVERS LICENSE
-PASSPORT
-2 CREDIT CARDS
I had all these documents. I get to the airport on my pickup time is 8am, I go to the counter at 7:55 the gentleman at the counter wasn't a gentleman at all. He said the car wasn't ready come back in 10-15 minutes. No problem, I went got coffee, came back at 8:20, go up to the counter, he says "I told you 10-15 minutes not 4 minutes"

"Sir the walk to the coffee stand took me 5 minutes alone, I came back almost a half hour later what is going on?"

"You have to wait!"

Okay. Another 10 minutes goes by and he calls me over to the counter I show him my drivers license and he laughs and says it's no good he needs my international drivers license. I said well the email doesn't say this. In bold letters it says I need a drivers license, passport and 2 credit cards. Again laughing, he shows me fine print hidden at the bottom of the email saying you need an international license and I couldn't rent a car. He was rude, laughed at the fact that i couldn't get a car and was extremely unprofessional. Thank god HERTZ came through and I had NO ISSUE WITH HERTZ. Now almost a week later I'm still fighting with them for a refund. Better to pay extra and know you're in good hands.

J'ai réservé pour la première fois sur ce site il y deux semaines. 1h avant d'arriver à l'aéroport de Ténérife pour nos vacances, je reçois un mail d'annulation de réservation. Déjà incompréhensible car pas d'explication. MAIS cela fait 2 semaines que je tente de les avoir au téléphone, ils me disent qu'ils doivent me rappeler mais ne me rappellent pas. Soit disant mon dossier est en cours d'étude pour le remboursement. J'ai du payer une voiture sur place et je ne peux pas attendre mon remboursement plus longtemps. QUE FAITES VOUS HOLIDAYSCAR.COM?

Hereby I would like to inform you our cancellation policy:
If you have purchased the cancel protection it is possible to cancel for free up to the time of pick up.
If you have purchased the no cancel protection, the following conditions will be applied:
• Have you cancelled your reservation at least 48 hours before pick up, you will receive a full refund.
• If you cancel the reservation within the 48 hours before pick up, the prepaid amount will not be refunded.
• No refunds will be applied should you have made the reservation within 72 hours from the rental date.
• If you decided not to pick up the rental car and didn't inform us about the cancellation then the cancellation charge may be applied up to 100% of the reservation amount.

We always need to inform customers that it can take up to 5 -8 days before they will receive the refund. This is the time your credit card provider needs to process the request to refund the money to your bank account.

Rented car online, was hour late for pick up due to delayed flight. Friend phoned car rental company,
Green Motion, to let them know i was delayed but had landed. About 15mins later friend got an abrupt call from company (As her number was the contact number) asking where I was and was I coming. Explained that was at Stansted waiting for transfer bus to their office. Got to office only to find my credit card was out of date amd didn't have the new one so told I would have to pay £252 For extra insurance or I couldn't have the car, I had already taken no risk insurance. They also wanted to hold £125 from my car for fuel. I paid it all as was 1am and wanted to get on the road. Lady seething me was complaining that she had already been there 12 hours and wanted to go. I drove away and dis exactly 39 miles only to run completely out of fuel on the A11,3 lane carriage way and no clue where I was. Friend phoned the 24/7 emergency number to be told she needed to ring a number in the Netherlands, which she did and ended up sprawling n to a gentleman in America! Obviously he said he was unable to help and couldn't suggest anything. So my friend drove 70 miles each way to bring fuel so I could get to on my way. Tried to speak to customer service/ manager for 3 days to no avail. Was told I would have to wait for an email for feedback once I had dropped cat back. When dropping car back the company dismissed me and said I had to wait for email too. So waited for email and explained everything just to be told that they, as a good will gesture, could refund the no risk policy that I paid for which is a total of £24. They have completely dismissed the fact that the staff were abrupt and unhelpful and that they gave me a car at 1am in the morning with only 39 miles worth of petrol in the car. Disgusting company, service and aftercare. Would never ever use them again.

I can imagine you are not satisfied with a refund of the duplicate insurance only, since you experienced a lot of trouble with the rental car itself, due to the poor customer service of the local supplier and the limited amount of gasoline in the car upon pick up.

Holiday cars is the worst experience from a car rental company I have ever had. Arrived an hour late to pickup car due to late flight and was told that the car had been released as I hadn't arrived within the two hour pickup window. This information was not disclosed to me at the time of booking but I'm told can be found in the small print of the terms and conditions, I'm yet to find it...
Spoke to support but they were super unhelpful and insisted that they couldn't help with another car and I couldn't get a refund.
Hired another car from accross the street who informed me I was the fourth customer today with the same issue.
Would give zero stars if I could.

After many emails back and forth with holidaycars, they absolutely won't accept that the terms and conditions are unfair to the consumer and they consider the two hour pickup clause is OK to be hidden away in the general terms and conditions and not openly disclosed to customers!

We are very sorry to be informed that you are not satisfied with our previous emails.

If you are not willing/able to provide us with the requested information, than I strongly advise you to contact the flight company and claim your costs with them since they are the party responsible for causing the delay.

We provide you with both the supplier rental conditions as well as the General conditions during various moments of the reservation. Eventually you also have to agree to these conditions in order to be able to complete the reservation on our website. Based on the information provided by you we can conclude that the booking has been handled, by both the car rental supplier as by us, accordingly with the conditions you agreed to at time of booking.

This will however be our final email in regards to this subject, since we won't be able to change the decision on this matter.
