Service is very good and all the service providers especially Mr Avinash Pandit and Mr. Kanhaiya are very polite and did satisfactory job.
With problems HGTV is facing with the Gaine's empire building, Flip and Flop, an embarassing soap opera, Flip and Flop Vegas with plastic sharks, what a breath of fresh air is this program, Hometown drags you in to a place you wish you could live with neighbors you want to know. I grew up there and left 40 years ago. I long to return and probably will.
Love watching this young couple make old homes look beautiful. Great show. Not to many good shows to watch. No foul language is what I like about it
I absolutely love Home Town. I love the restoration of historical homes. Erin and Ben are still loosening up and getting used to being in front of the camera. Please don't cancel the show. My husband and I are both hooked!
Once upon a time, I was an HGTV addict. I had it on whether I was actually watching it or not because when I did stop whatever I was doing, that is what I wanted to tune in to. There was always something of interest. Now... I don't even bother to turn to that channel anymore.
The only thing worth watching is the Fixer Upper series (which I love), but I've seen all the episodes at least twice and there is nothing but reruns now.
The rest of the HGTV programming has gone straight down the toilet. The programs are either so boring because they are all alike, are so out of touch with the average American's reality and price range, or are so offensive to me personally because of either the homosexual hosts or guests that are constantly being crammed down my throat. NO... I am NOT politically correct, but I AM HONEST.
Did it ever occur to anyone at HGTV that the average American struggles to pay their bills and that programs like the search for a vacation beach home, an island, a log home on 100 acres, a $30,000. Remodel job, etc. are things that most of us cannot even relate to?
What happened to the decorating and how-to shows that were of some value and interest to regular people? What happened to the good, clean entertainment without all the bickering and in-fighting? Most of us get enough drama and negativity in our REAL lives, we don't need more of it on TV.
The people in charge at HGTV need a serious reality check and they need to get in touch with REAL Americans.
I've slowly lost interest in virtually all of the home improvement and home search series on HGTV and no longer bother to watch. All of these houses would be junk where I live, selling for about 20K-70K but everything I see on the shows are 300K-900K or more. I wouldn't pay a penny for them and I wonder what these young people actually do for a living to enable them the mortgage their futures with this debt. They also act like obnoxious little snobs, for example sneering at carpeting, not realizing how cold, noisy and dirty hardwood floors become in real, day-to-day living.
The ladies on the shows are virtually identical in their designs and colors and it's boring. I am not really interested in what the latest "trend" is, I don't want to re-do my entire house in 5 years when the trend goes out of style. Such silliness with the requirement for "open concept" and hardwood floors. I can't stand the blond woman walking around fixer uppers in high spike heels squealing about how gross everything is.
Nothing on these shows represent real life in real America and all of the shows are becoming copies of each other.
I recorded all of the Home Town episodes and finally got the chance to see all of them! Didn't immediately love the show, but as I watched more episodes, I now have a better perspective of the show and of Ben and Erin. I love the colors Erin uses in the houses and the handcrafted custom furniture pieces Ben makes for the houses. I think that I may have expected the show to be like the other shows, but it is not. It has it's own unique personality and I love the fact that the show is in Mississippi, my home state!
I love to watch Ben and Erin on Hometown. They are talented and down to earth people. She does not mind getting in and doing the dirty work and Ben is very talented with wood work. I hope HGTV keeps them on and does away with the Flip or Flop couple getting a divorce. They are pretending to like each other but really don't seem to pull off the concept. Hometown is fun to watch and I like their results.
I live on the outskirts of Laurel and I've seen some of these homes. It's really sad to know what people will do to be on T V
Who is reaping the benefits
No I missed it the last couple of weeks why isn't it on and when will it be back on please do not take it off the air there is so little entertainment of this kind that's down to earth
Watched from the first episode and was hooked! Love small town Americana... people living simple, wholesome, productive lives who love their families and neighbors. Please renew these wonderful people and bring us years full of their talent and caring!
Why oh why, do hgtv insist on having women on the Flip or Flop episodes (the Christina woman & now the strange vegas women) who look straight up at best a Barbie doll character & at worst a stripper? Why, it's completely unbelievable that these women are in there getting their hands dirty& delving into the whole fix it up concept! COME ON! No one dresses & comes to this kind of work looking like this nonsense ie., high heels, tight skinny jeans, massively made up w/hair & makeup, fake blonde hair, it's just over the top not believable & quite frankly nauseating! Do your program/show designers just really think sex sales or what? Most nauseating shows you produce-- we just turn it the minute they come on. Stick to fixer upper (at least JoAnna Gaines really does what she does), Nicole from rehab addict is cute but she too really does what she does & so does mother daughter fixer upper. Stick to real a believable! Not sure w/ these fake Barbie ding dongs who you're trying to target audience wise?
My husband & I love to watch Chip & Joanna & I made him watch Home Town with me for the 1st time. I love how they focus only on old homes and give a historical snippet of each house. But my husband started critiquing the couple from the start. I have to admit that it was annoying when he was talking finances and said "so your all in for $$$$" just like Chip says. And they both do seem to try to emulate Fixer Upper.
But I started reading these reviews to my husband and he said "Get a life, they weren't that bad!"
I love the old houses but they need to find their own niche.
I watch every show, as if I am peeling off a band aid slowly. It's absolutely painful. The house turns into cute, cluttered home. The house has so much decor stuff in it. It's as if the Home Town couple is telling the homeowner "Y'all cain't live here!"
Ben does good woodwork. Love his practicality using reclaimed wood. Erin does have home decorating skills. But please give some room to breath. A whole wall covered with framed, vintage photos of people you don't know? Creepy! Plus I cannot stress how much tchotchke, placed everywhere. It's only a few stuff away from being a Hoarders episode or TGIF restaurant.
The hosts has such a hard time with having anything to say on camera. They have to talk slower and raise their arm up when using an adjective. To fill in the one hour, they bring in their boring contractors, that have nothing much to say. Which then leads to several montages of small-town-folks hammering and sawing. Producers need to fix that. Maybe write lines and vignettes for them. Discuss really how much everything cost. How much does is cost to hire a welder to redo an old handrail? Do way more DIY home remodeling tricks. Remodel more bathrooms!
So tired of " they're not Chip and Joanna". NO they are not which is what makes it different and unique. I love Fixer Upper but I want a Different show. This one offers the format of fixer upper but with a new cute newlywed couple with a different style and new ideas. I'm not crazy about her house drawings but overall I find this a show that inspires me to get moving and make changes in my own home. Let's give other couples( besides Chip and Joanna) a chance to inspire us
Tried to watch one episode of HomeTown It's was terrible. I don't get her accent at all. As someone else said it's so exaggerated, I find it embarrassing. All the hanging over each other. Are they trying to convince me they are a couple? As far as saving their town? Saving it from what? I live near there and homes in the historical district have been in demand and cared for forever. Lots of lawyers, doctors and business people always lived there. The place never really went bust like some kind of coal town in PA. That's what it suggest to me. At best you are doing some renovations another buyer would have done and probably better.
Editing is also really poor. Don't know if HGTV paid someone but the cuts of the town look like someone's six year old recorded it on a first generation GoPro. Other stuff looked shaky.
Ben and Erin are real people. Other than Chip and Joanna, I have never been able to watch this type of show. I am hooked on Home Town. Need more episodes.
I enjoy this show very much because it is more than designing for folks to copy Erin and Ben's style. Their talent is in welcoming folks to the town of Laurel Mississippi and integrating them into the commuinity -- That is different than just finding a house and making it look like everyone elses. My taste is not the exact same as Erin's however, I do get ideas that I can use to fit with mine - which I think is the point. For example after my sister mentioned she liked the art work featured on one episode, I looked up Walker Anderson's prints and was able to find notecards of the same design to surprise her with. The fact that Erin and Ben show the many talents and histories in the town and state of Mississippi is a bonus - we get to pick and choose what to take away from each episode. The "HomeTown" hosts aren't trying to sell a "product" so that people can have the same style.
Ben and Erin's relationship seems to reflect their love and appreciation for each other - which is always nice to watch. Just as Chip and Joanna have their personalities, Erin and Ben have theirs. We don't have to be constantly wowed by graphics or the success of their "brand". I enjoy both Fixer Upper and HomeTown because they each have their own style and contributions to HGTV.
Home town is a sweet show with REAL people. Not phony like the original Flip or Flop where it's so obvious that Tarek doesn't do ANY of the work ( crew must love it when he's "suppose" to be tiling, etc because they know they will have to fix it) and Christina just wants to rip everything out, not taking in to consideration the style or vintage age of the home and put all new in. And they have the money to that. Good for them! Restoring is much more difficult. Hometown comes off differently from other shows! Small town Mississippi isn't Los Angeles and flipping a house is way easier that restoring one for a new owner. Give this show a break and understand what they are really doing. I think it will grow on you.
I tried watching this show a couple of time but the result was the same. Absolutely terrible design boring show I would always fast forward to the end and completely disappointed. This show needs to be cancelled immediately! Come on HGTV where are you finding these people!
Answer: There are SO many commercials for Hometown ( more than 6 per hour), I won't be watching it because I am sick of the couple posing and posing. So many commercials mean something is wrong with the show. HELP PLEASE!
Answer: I agree! Landscapes, gardening... something that blends in vegetation to give a nice break from home remodels.
