Home town people are beyond obnoxious. I can't even stand to hear the commercials
I mute the TV. How about the good shows like "Love it or list it" or Rehab Addict.
I leave my TV on HGTV all day, but no more! Every commercial literally the entire day plays the Home Town ad over and over. It is sickening and listening to Erin tell viewers To "Get up and do it"? Makes my stomach turnover. The show is horrible and Erin doesn't have the decorating style for TV at all. Please get rid of this show and the terrible and overplayed commercial! HGTV are you TRYING to loose your viewers? Because it sure looks like it!
Please spare us the irritating ad for this show, the song makes me nauseous! My grandkids actually cover their ears when they hear it & I hit the mute on the remote immediately. Poor Erin is soooo phony-please, Erin, get up and GO!
The show is terrible. The hosts are annoying. It is over advertisized and Get up and Do it is forcing us to change the channel.
You need to cancel Home Town - they are Fixer Upper wannabes and are doing a very poor job of it. Erins latest spot... Just do it... said in a smartass voice is an insult to your viewers. And if our family has to hear the background song Today is a winding road one more time, we will stop watching HGTV completely. Even our 6 year old is sick of it! And get rid of Flip or Flop!
Have been addicted to HGTV for a long time, and I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who finds Erin on Hometown an arrogant and condescending little twit. Worse yet, she doesn't know squat about decorating; she truly is a wanna be and in no way should be billed as an expert. I spent 30 years as a home decor consultant, but apparently it has never occurred to her that there are people out there that see through her phoniness. Worse yet, her 'just do it comment' is one of the most insulting comments she could make. Anyone who is scripting her certainly didn't do her any favors. Did it ever occur to her that many watching would love to if they only could? At 66, I don't have the luxury of raising my blood pressure because she is stupid, so I won't be watching. Please get rid of her so I feel like watching again.
I don't usually chime in, but I'm speaking up for this one! This is a lovely show with a sweet young couple sharing their passion for community and service to others for us to see. Their designs are nostalgic, warm, whimsical, and deeply personalized to each of their clients, as evidenced by the touching reactions you can see at almost every reveal. I think they'd be the first to tell you, their first priority isn't having some repetitive signature style - it's making each individual client feel truly at home. They're Southern, they're sweet, and they're working hard to be as good to others as they can and make a positive difference in their town. I for one like watching good people do nice things! Keep on keeping on, Ben and Erin!
Never watched the show and never will. That Get up and do it comment was enough for me. How condescending!
I feel so validated after reading all the negative reviews about Hometown. My boyfriend and I have been going crazy hearing the Sheryl Crow song every five minutes, in addition to Get up and DO it! I watched five minutes of one show, which featured a 60 year old pastor buying a house for the first time. Boring and awkward. Please get rid of this show or HGTV may go on our do not watch list.
I watch this show for innovation and ideas for remodeling my house. The sappy couple is a modest rehash of 10 year old HGTV series. Joanna and Chip Gaines continued to grow and innovate. This show will be lucky to ever achieve the polish of even the first episodes of Fixer Upper.
This show needs to be removed from TV immediately, including reruns. Watched one show and will never watch again. They try to mimic Chip &Joanna but you can it's fake and forced. No one will ever be Chip & Joanna. Fixer Upper is a hit because personality and humor is natural for them. They're just being themselves. Sick of all the commercials for Hometown so much I've stopped watching HGTV.
When will scrap that ridiculous show Hometown? I cant stand the couple who keeps hugging and coddling. The husband who looks like an ogre sucks on an ice cream cone in the commercial. Please stop flashing commercials in between shows featuring this nauseating couple. I was so happy when you pulled the show last time. Very disappointed when HGTV decided to revive the show. IM NOT WATCHING THIS SHOW.
Erin is not authentic and does not know the difference between restore and renovate. Get her a dictionary
I may stop watching HGTV as the Home Town ad plays over and over and over. Is that the best HGTV can do?
The ads for this show are so annoying! What is with the "Get up and do it". Get up and do what? Erin does not have the class of other shows. She doesn't instill confidence in her so called skills. I will not be watching this show!
In general, I love HGTV. But, I can't stand Erin on Hometown, I can't even watch the commercials. Sooo sick of "get up and do it." She is too smarmy. Please just make this show go away.
I love HGTV and I do enjoy the reveal on Fixer Upper, but one thing I noticed, the dialogue is always the same on every damn show! "Y'all wanna see yer Fixer Upper"? Also Joanna always has to comment about her "special" time with the kids each and every episode. She's also always saying "It's going to be a late night" when she's styling the house. Chip always acts like a little kid when he exclaims "Its demo day!" I also get annoyed at the fake banter between them. It gets a little tiresome. While I appreciate the designs, the dialogue needs work... although from what I've read, this is the last season... oh well.
Annoying! Worst show on HGTV. Sick of "get up and do it". The commercial is awful! Fixer upper is my favorite. These people just don't have what it takes to renovate a house. Its just a mish mash of whatever they feel like throwing in it at the time. No style! This show needs to go!
HGTV is really a Time Warp. They are recycling programs and ideas. The Flip or Flop Series is becoming trashy. Home Town is silly and trite. The lottery winner home program is painful to watch, and the host is a goon, big time.
HGTV, you have some fixer upper in your future, so just do it!
Answer: There are SO many commercials for Hometown ( more than 6 per hour), I won't be watching it because I am sick of the couple posing and posing. So many commercials mean something is wrong with the show. HELP PLEASE!
Answer: I agree! Landscapes, gardening... something that blends in vegetation to give a nice break from home remodels.
