The stars are rude, mean and hateful. He continued to curse and had to be bleeped out. What is the network thinking.
All these bad reviews sound like sour grapes to me. I watch other shows on HGTV and some days their designs all start to look alike. Ben and Erin seem very original to me and the designs are appropriate for small town, older homes. I really enjoy that. Of course some of the structural work is done by experts. Do you really think Chip Gaines does all that work on his own? But pay attention to the master woodwork that Ben does and they try to re-use all the original pieces of the houses. I like that. In the South, we cherish memories and love that old is sometimes new. Great work Ben and Erin. Hope this show continues. I miss it.
This has to be my very favorite of the
HGTV shows. Look forward to every Monday night.
Ive even gotten some of my family hooked on it.
At first I thought it was too simple. Then... I grew to love it because it was simple, homey and real. Fixer Upper has become Plastic perfection. Sick of it. Flipping Vegas, ditto. Ben and Erin are a breath of fresh air. Leave them alone! Are already starting to get fancier... leave it Down Home! The negative comments here are just used to Plastic and Fake.
I think this show is better than the Wacky Waco duo. I love the honest way that Ben and Erin take on their houses. I love the fact that the homes are real and the furnishings stay with the houses unlike the "staged" homes of the others show. Glad the Gaines are through but I certainly hope this couple stays on the air for a long time. I have not had to look away or fast forward because of something nasty going in Ben's mouth, unlike Chip! This loving couple are the real deal! Love this show!
Worst home renovating show on the network. Ben doesnt even do anything. They hire everything out and he builds a chicken coup and acts like he did everything in the house. Guy cant even change a chandelier. He cant stop sweating. Its gross. Erin is just annoying. One star all the way around
Erin is so dramatic, and loud. She loves the camera. Somebody, please tape her mouth!
This show tries too hard to be like Fixer Upper. Hear me now, YOU WILL NEVER BE!
How many varieties of "Flip or Flop" do we need? How many shows do the Property Brothers need? How scripted can House Hunters and Love It or List It be? How many reruns will HGTV show? Someone needs to breathe life into this deflated channel.
So the woman is annoying as it looks like she really believes that she knows what she is doing. The guy might be a nice dude, but his voice sounds like he swallowed three frogs and he seems like he hasn't a clue. HGTV really needs to come up with something new for these two to do. Have the woman run a cigarette stand and have the buffoon install Directv. My wife watches this garbage and hearing that loud mouthed bumpkin talk with her phony accent is grating.
I think HGTV didn't do Home Town any favors by running that weird "get up and do it" commercial ad nauseam. Having watched the show, I'm surprised to find I actually like it.
Just get up and do it - get rid of this show! First, the hosts are arrogant and really irritating to listen to. Second, she has no design sense whatever. Whatever happened to all the great and interesting shows you used to have? Way too many flip or flop shows in various cities. And how could David Bromsted waste his incredible talent on My lottery dream home. Brung back the talented designers and the variety of shows. How about some garden landscaping. Ive been a long time viewer but my interest is waning.
I'm so happy to find this website to vent about Hometown. This show and these hosts are super lame; neither have personality or design taste. Hurry up and get them gone before I stop watching HGTV!
DREADFUL SHOW. As soon as a commercial comes on for this show, I have to mute it or change the channel. TERRIBLE.
These two are the worst hosts they could have picked for the show. I will hardly watch HGTV anymore, because of this horrible commercial with her super annoying southern accent- "get up and do it" like a hillbilly. They drive around in this old truck & try to be cool with his hipster beard (which is just unkempt and gross). Horrible!
The most annoying show on tv! Every time I see commercial with these two, it makes me wanna change the channel.
This is a horrible show. Cheezy... lame. Doesn't seem authentic at all. Erin has to be one of the most annoying people ever! I can't stand to watch the show. I can't understand her husband because he mumbles... then they laugh and laugh...(eye roll) Please take it off the air!
Thank heavens I found this site. I felt so bad because I thought I was the only one who dislikes Home Town. I also find the "get up and do it" obnoxious and irritating. Dare I say smug and self-righteous? Keep the show, HGTV, if you want, but please, please ditch the commercial.
Erin Just get up and do it is the most annoying person ever on HGTV. I feel sorry for her husband. I refuse to watch this show. You could do much with just about anybody or any show. Cancel It!
Erin and Ben are beyond irritating, even the commericals "just get up and do it" make me change the channel. Fake southern accent "Y'all" is annoying as well. They always are looking at each other like they should get a room somewhere!
Answer: There are SO many commercials for Hometown ( more than 6 per hour), I won't be watching it because I am sick of the couple posing and posing. So many commercials mean something is wrong with the show. HELP PLEASE!
Answer: I agree! Landscapes, gardening... something that blends in vegetation to give a nice break from home remodels.
