Love the recipes and the easy to follow instructions and have always found the quality of the ingredients excellent. When delivery hasn't gone to plan, Hello Fresh always keep us informed or send us a recipe update if an ingredient was not available. Over all we enjoy this service and look forward to our weekly delivery.
I have been with hello fresh for almost a year. After receiving 32 boxes of meals with recipes, I can provide feedback with my experience.At the beginning hello fresh was great. I liked not having to thing about what meals I would make for the week. Meals well balanced an no food waste. However, over the past three months I have to call at least twice a month due to mistakes, not receiving meals as they were not shipped, or wrong meals sent.
The risotto and other dish (can't remember the name) were nauseating. I'm not that picky. I found the ingredients to be incompatible with one another and the result was an amateurish, terrible tasting mess. It was also a lot of work chopping and cleaning vegetables so not a time saver.
Gave 2 stars because it allowed to work on my cooking skills but it came with allergens that I was told would not come with the boxes, the refuse to give me refunds for accidental charges, and it will not let me change my plan in order to use a gift card balance.
While the food was adequate, I am very unhappy with Hello Fresh in general, it automatically put another order on my visa automatically, without even sending a confirmation email that I wanted another one. It was so expensive, and when I talked to a representative, it was entirely unhelpful and unable to do anything. It sounded like the person who was talking was scripted and didn't listen to my concerns at all. Definitely would never use Hello Fresh again.
As consumers, we should be able to review meals and confirm the order before we are charged! BEWARE. Don't follow the prompts to look at meals - you will be charged and food will be delivered even without confirming you want it! Every plate and hello fresh are one in the same - I got scammed by both just trying to find a meal plan that suites me!
I was given a HelloFresh $130 gift card by a friend and thought it would be fun to try the service. I signed up and they gave me an automatic delivery of Fridays. I reached out to see if they could change the delivery date to Mondays and was told it was no issue. When I went to order food, I noticed that the gift card balance had disappeared. Two hours and three customer service reps later (one who consulted with a manager), and I was told the best they could do was give me either 75% off my box or 30% off for a couple months. I asked if they could simply put the gift card back on my account and was told no. What kind of crooked scam is that? I literally hadn't ordered anything at all from them yet, and they essentially stole $130 from me. So shady, I cancelled my account that hadn't even been used yet.
First time to use hello fresh wash this week. Still waiting for my package that never showed up and unlike every other American on Sunday, I didn't buy groceries and it's 8:30 at night and my family is hungry and mad. Hello fresh will NOT give my money back. They will only apply this to my next box... I don't want another box. I will just buy groceries that way my family can actually eat. Terrible service. First impressions last a lifetime and this looks terrible so I'm sorry to say I am done. I want my money... not a box credit for a box that will never show up. My package was picked up YESTERDAY at 2:00 pm from a location 40 minutes away. This is unacceptable and a total disappointment.
I was a previous subscriber and wanted to look again at meals and subscription options. Like other reviewers, my account was reactivated without my intention or knowledge, and random meals were scheduled for delivery. I was not given an opportunity to choose which meals I wanted. This appears to be an intentional configuration of the site to trick potential customers into authorizing payment. I attempted to cancel online following the site instructions but the cancel button did not work (of course) even though I was within the stated deadline. I reached customer service by phone and the representative was pleasant, though she made several attempts to convince me to cancel my cancellation before agreeing to my request. I will definitely not use HelloFresh in the future because this experience makes me not trust their business practices.
The menus offered are overloaded with salt, carbs, and fat. And the selection of vegetables is pretty awful. It's the same kale, zucchini, carrots, and green beans, and potatoes day after day after day. There is sour cream in practically everything because evidently they think it's the proper ingredient to make a sauce. I wanted mediterranean dishes. But what they call mediterranean and what your cardiologist calls mediterranean are not in the same ballpark. So no. I don't recommend it.
My issue was I had to start a subscription complete with my payment method to even browse the meals and pricing plans. I have picky eaters so I wanted to see if it would even be worth I to use their services. Well, it's not. Signed up only to cancel within 5 minutes. ZERO STARS.
I used Hello Fresh for the first time a few weeks ago. I ordered 4 meals and delayed their shipment, which worked well. When my meals arrived in a huge box, several items were missing including the protein for one meal. I turned the box inside out looking for these items. I went to their website to report this issue, expecting to receive a partial credit to my CC or a shipment of the missing items. Instead I received a $15 credit toward a "future non-discounted purchase." That doesn't help me with these incomplete meals, and it won't help me in the future since I don't plan to order from them again.
We decided to switch our home meal delivery service for a while and chose Hello Fresh. Went in and registered and activated my account only to find that the first delivery would take place without being able to skip it or modify the meals. I immediately cancelled our account but was informed one delivery was still outstanding. I contact Hello Fesh directly by phone and was told that they would stop the delivery and cancel the charges to my credit card. Today I have both a charge and a box of meals I didn't chose and can't use.

I signed up with 16 meals free and free delivery, what an absolute fraud this site is. Don't believe a thing they say is true. They offer this but very very fine print they mention it's for 4 servings and a minimum of 3 meals which equals 12 meals. I was misled. I ordered 2 servings 3 meals and the offer does Not apply. I got a chicke cutlet the size of my small palm for 2 people...You're company is misleading and disgraceful to tell people they will be saving money with your misleading 'services ". The humility your personal customer service has nothing to disprove is horrible labor services for them. Be ashamed hello fresh and and anyone interested, DON'T order, trust this disappointed customer and happy dog.
A friend got me my first box and I received that the next week. Then I used the coupon first box free and signed up. I paid $30 for that (added extras) and it never showed. Then 3 weeks later a hello fresh box shower up on my door step. Checked bank no money has come out as yet. I'm very confused. Plus my account says Ive never ordered a box.

1. They immediately ask for your card information BEFORE seeing anything. 2. I cancelled the subscription b/c I didn't like the meals and didn't want to pay for them. 3. I STILL got charged for the meals. 4. Customer service hung up on me when I asked why I was still charged. (I called back obviously) 5. I canceled my subscription SECONDS after starting it bc it had already chosen my meals FOR ME… and "apparently"… I can't get money back bc policy is "once it's shipped out there is nothing they can do about the money"… okay but HOW was it "already shipped" if I cancelled SECONDS after subscribing. But then it still takes a whole week to get here? Makes no sense. I will never use hello fresh. Customer service is absolutely no help. The site is VERY confusing. You don't even get to see the meals before putting in your card information?!?! What kind of business is this. I DO NOT recommend
I had a less than perfect experience, but that being said I think that their customer service is great and they made it right. I love the idea of the subscription service and the recipes cards are great. This really gives you an opportunity to check out things you may not ordinarily eat, but have always wanted to try. A little too much packaging, but find a coupon and give it a try.
I don't think I've ever wasted my time reviewing something like this, but this turned out to be a special occasion, added to the fact that I have to be on a site like this and not able to post it directly on HelloFresh's site. The meals are horrifically complicated considering it's supposed to be something to make dinner easier. I've yet to receive a meal that had all the correct ingredients, which makes me go to the store which is of course what I was trying to avoid in the first place. The company is called "Hello Fresh," yet I've had plenty of ingredients that are well past "fresh." They sent me an ad for a coupon to pass along to my friends. I have several people from my past that I would gladly watch get eaten by a shark, but no one that I would subject to this company. I can't imagine a scenario where someone would be desperate enough to use this service if they had any other options. I made a horrible mistake, and I've literally paid for it. I hate that I can't rate zero stars.
I am very unhappy with Hello fresh. I was doing an online review of a product I ordered last month & at the end there was a link with an offer for a discount on 6 meals at Hello fresh. I ordered from them once, a while back so I thought I'd look into it so I clicked the link to check out their meals. The next thing I knew I got an email notice of a Hellofresh charge on my PayPal! I'M SHOCKED. I NEVER submitted an order for any meals and I'm demanding a refund. I will NEVER clink on any offer from them I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of Hellofresh! Any company who uses this of tactic is DISGUSTING
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
