The food was good - very similar to other plans I have tried. The detailed instructions made cooking fun. The trouble is, if you make a mistake there is no recourse. I cancelled my membership online, but apparently accidentally clicked the button to reactivate. I found an unexpected box at my door and a $71 charge! The food was their standard offer, since I had not had a chance to switch to meals I like. When I complained about it, they emailed me that it was my fault. They offered me $11 credit out of $71 if I reactivate! Done with this one!
Previously had good experience with HelloFresh in past. Purchased a $60 gift card for parents as a Christmas present. Ordered 3 individual meals and had to pay an extra $9.99 for shipping which was fine. Helped parents with order to their picking which was vegetarian options. Was charged an extra $35. Called customer service and apparently vegetarian is an upgraded "gourmet" option. Spent total of $105 for three dinners for two, won't ever do business with them again
I planned to try this service just one time, to check their quality and service. Everything was OK, until I found out that they automatically subscribed me on regular ordering of meal boxes. That was surprised, when I've got notification about delivery of my second order, which I didn't make. It is really awful, when a service makes decision instead of you. Especially, when it cost you money.
I tried to investigate HelloFresh just to see if it was something I would be interested in. I DID NOT actually place and order, yet they generated an order, charged me and refused to cancel it. I called customer service and was repeatedly given the script of "I'm sorry for any inconvenience". They told me that once an account is set up, I had to give them my email address before I could look into what they had to offer, they automatically generate an order. This is unacceptable! I will never recommend this awful company to anybody and I will discourage everybody from using this company. I can't add proof of purchase because I have not received a confirmation email. They take your money before they let you choose your meals. I tried to change the box when they included pork in my menu- even though I specifically selected pork as a protein that I do not eat. When I called customer service to get it changed, she compared me to a "child who is picky." I was outraged, and she disconnected the call before I could report it on the customer survey. There is no way to speak to a supervisor, and there's no way to set it right. They've taken my money, and don't seem to care that they are sending food that I cannot eat. BEWARE. There's a reason why they are offering so many coupons: their service and their food is terrible. STAY AWAY.
If I could give a negative rating, I would totally do that. Not delivering box to the door and expecting me to hunt it down 400 apartment doors when leasing center, intercom, my cell phone and Amazon locker are fully available and operational is nonsense.
Customer service is next to none with people not knowing how to operate phones and there is no way to get to the supervisor to solve a problem. Would rather get Amazon fresh delivery in no time.
I had several people living with me that wanted to try the hello fresh box. Come to find out, they won't honor the coupon and won't say anything if the address is the same. The app will tell the person it's delivered but they call them and say it was canceled and a refund will be sent. No refund has been issued for them as of yet and customer service sends a message saying it charged the account. I've sent numerous people boxes and had them purchase. Never again! Horrible
We never received our hello fresh. We have 6 cameras and looked back and the driver never came to our house. Dpd also took a blank photo. Hello fresh insisted the driver had delivered our box therefore, calling me a liar and that it had been stolen. They said they had seen the tracking? If so as we were in and recording everything where's our box. Disgraceful customer service, stay away because you'll always be in the wrong!

Just realized hello fresh has charged me for 4 meals for 2 ppl /week. I may have looked at their web site but I never picked a plan or food. I have a family of 4 so it doesn't even make sense that I would pick meals for 2 ppl. Also I have super picky eaters so not picking the meals is not a option. Then I call customer service and of course they can't cancel or refund. I have to wait 24-48 hrs to have a manager call me back. Stay away it's a scam they are vultures.
Was looking forward to trying HF, but needed help using a gift card. Terrible customer service! Got wrong order & lost $ on gift card balance bc I won't use this service again. They must make a fortune on gift cards that are never fully used.

I signed up for this subscription thinking it's gonna help me plan my meals at night the first order I receive they don't even give me all my meats. The customer service reps are great in helping but they don't really solve your issue which is getting me the correct amount in my order. I chose to cancel this subscription indefinitely.
I would like yo to know about my first and last experience with Hello Fresh. I bought a gift card for my father. It was to have been sent to his email address at Christmas. He never received it. I called customer support, who sent me an email with a pdf of the gift card attached. I forwarded the message to my father who followed the link and entered the code, only to get an error message. I called customer service two more times, eventually getting instructions with a different link to enter the code. When that didn't work, my father called customer service, speaking with three different agents. He was finally able to place one first order. He was told to give it a couple of days before trying to log back in to order a second meal. Terrible customer service!
It is fresh and timely. It's a little pricey but I like the instructions and cooking tips that come with each meal. My sister sent me a free week. I ordered one more week by "accident". It wasn't exactly what I would have chosen but was still pleasantly surprised.
Totally unethical business. You have to put in your card info to even view the website and this is how they get users to sign up without even knowing it. Do everyone and yourself a favor and don't get anything here at all costs. Unethical, snobby, rude customer service.

Was able to choose two and the third one was sent randomly!
Anyway to my surprise a month later they sent another box which I haven't ordered and they charged me for it! More to that when I refused the delivery, they said I was supposed to let them know 5 days in advance?!
So for 9 meals they charged me more than £100! This is more expensive than take away!
Scam. Beware. Their customer support can only apologise and ignore your queries, without even registering the complaint!
Was really hoping this would work. I love having the food delivered and the recipes were pretty good. Each recipe only has a handful of ingredients so it would be worlds cheaper to get the items from the store but I still would have kept the subscription for convenience of the vegetables were not such horrible quality. Every zucchini was rotten on one end and limp and old, peppers rotten inside, ginger was always dry and one was even slimy! The carrots were terribly small and limp and old, green onions were slimy and old, limes often old and skin brown. It was like pulling veg out of my fridge that had been left in there for months. Unfortunately I had to throw the vegetables they provided away frequently and the program is already expensive for what you get of you were to receive the best quality produce. I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

Didn't work for our family. Very time consuming and assumed you had things in your pantry that we didn't. Husband also didn't like the food. It also doesn't work out to be cheaper in the long run for us, even with all the discounts. Got 2 calls today to talk over my feedback (said it was 1-2 minute survey... it is NOT!). I gave them my feedback as it didn't work for me (TWICE). Didn't fix any of my issues with it but offered me another discount.
I had to run (both times), politely got off the phone and then got a message to my phone after the second call that they had reactivated my account and I was going to be charged for another 3 meals...
I was livid! I tried to remove my payment details off my account but it wouldn't give me the option. I cancelled my subscription AGAIN!
I feel like my information is now being used against me. I never agreed to ordering it again.
Avoid this company the tactics are just terrible and not customer focused at all.

Cancelled the service on 4-5-22. Was away for 3.5 months, no internet service & very limited cell phone service. Imagine my surprise when I come home and find out that my subscription was not cancelled, someone at hellofresh only put it on hold. I am out $300.00, for something I never ordered. I would not put it on hold as meals were shipped to my dorm address. I knew I would be away and the meal program does not work for collage students living on campus with only a microwave in the common area. Very difficult to understand the customer service reps, their accent was very heavy. One of the dozen phone calls had me talking to a rep. While a rooster was crowing in the background and he did not understand why I thought that was unprofessional. Horrible company to do business with. Penn State should be ashamed for offering this to students.

My Hello Fresh order arrived late. Box leaking, seafood spoiled and all they gave me was a credit for another purchase? With all the free boxes they push you to sell to friends and family, you'd think they'd do more than refund the cost of the box with shipping. Customer service was a poor experience, unempowered reps, and 30+ minutes wait.
All the meats arrived warm. All ice had melted. Filed a complaint. They only give credit use against high price cost and not the discounted cost that it was originally. For example, I paid about $59 for three meals due to a discount, and this $59 is credited to non discounted meal of about $80. Don't order these meals in Florida.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
