I've been doing Hello Fresh for just over a year. Yes it's a tad expensive, but I like the convienence and for the most part I really enjoy the meals. Customer service is always friendly and has usually been able to resolve any issues I have. Initially everything arrived on time and all the ingredients were there. Not so much the past month+ I'm beginning to receive orders that are missing ingredients and in one case the cooking card was missing and in another case the wrong cooking card was sent. Now you can go to the website and get the instructions if you need, but I prefer to look at the card while I'm preparing. The order this week was missing carrots. I got a $6 credit and I can pop down to the grocery store and buy some, but the point is that they were missing from my order. Hello Fresh is already a bit expensive, you should receive everything you paid for. I was missing the "Tex/Mex" paste in another order and that wasn't so easy to replicate. I tried, but it wasn't as good as the paste that should've been in the bag. Additionally I've noticed that they've been paring down the recipes. The same dinners I got months ago, now have been reformulated without certain ingredients and/or the amount you get (say cheese) has been reduced. I have to say I really like the concept, but I'm thinking about canceling Hello Fresh and trying out another company
Signed up just so I could see their vegetarian options since that's the only way to see.
Saw they sucked and immediately cancelled my subscription within the hour.
Wake up the next day to see they've taken $50 from my account and I have three PORK dishes headed to my VEGETARIAN household which I'm told I can't cancel (and that canceling my subscription didn't cancel this order they decided to immediately place on my behalf)
They LIE TO YOU and say you have 4 days to change the order, then how come the very next day I wasn't able to cancel the order I never even placed!
Told they can't help, asked to speak to a manager and told it takes 5-7 days to get a call or email back so the pork is still headed to my house
No way to change your delivery instructions either.

Signed up for my account and asked for my card info, i entered apple pay just so i could view the menu and all of a sudden i have an order date a payment scheduled and NO ADDRESS GIVEN TO THEM. Goodluck getting my payment HelloFresh! If i cant cancel a card payment, i'll freeze my card! GFFB
Worst customer service ever, cancelled order, said they would refund, did not, credit card refunded, now threatening me with debt collection. Absolute joke.
I called the company three times, to find out I had 2 accounts. One of them was auto created when I used PayPal instead of a credit card.
I was assured by customer service that the two accounts were combined on my third call. The representative assured me that my new address was saved.
I received notification that I received a box. Upon investigation I found that the delivery was to my old address. I called the company to ask for a credit for the box, since it was delivered to the wrong address.
I was told no. In addition the customer service rep hung up on me. I was not screaming or cursing. Just frustrated.
I called back. Explained to the new rep what the issue was. After being told they had no record of me calling before, it was my problem and there would be no credit given. When I asked if the rep was in the US, he hung up on me!
During 2020 I did use hello fresh. The ingredients started becoming sub par, sometimes one day from being rotten. Other times the veggie of the recipe was substitute for a cheaper veggie that did not even go in the recipe. For example, instead of asparagus for chicken with mushrooms and asparagus sauce, the box would take out asparagus and put in sweet potato.
When I called I was told it was because of the supply issues caused by the pandemic.
I thought I would try them again and can say NEVER EVER use this service!
I have had hello fresh for a while and lately I am considering cancelling my service I have made about 10 complaints recently as every single one of my weekly boxes has had bad spoiled or not proportionate or missing ingredients it's honestly such a disappointment at this point for the price you pay the portions are increasingly smaller and i don't seem find fulfillment in the portions for the price on top of that the constantly bad or missing ingredients ruins the entire meal and I rather have to go out and buy additions ingredients to cook it or the issue a credit and it's also the same response from customer service but no actual results as far as fixing the problem I think it has a lot to do with where they are outsourcing or hiring the people who pack these boxes they are becoming increasingly more inaccurate and the past 9 boxes I've had I have had a problem every single time it's ridiculous for the price they need to source better produce and check it before shipping not to mention make sure all sizing is proportionate the bread that comes in the meals for Sandwiches hoagies and ciabattas are extremely small and honestly a terrible size for an adult and the price and they are very inconsistent with weight and size! I'm over it and very frustrated this company seems to care more about profit then quality now a days and the automated customer service responses with no actual results are tiring. They really need to reevaluate their process and protocols or lower the cost.
I tried your service and it did not work for me. I found that the produce don't last long and they are not fresh, so I cancelled the service. I received a confirmation on my cancellation and even though it did not work for me and my family I tried to show it to a friend and refer them because it may work for them and their family...but I soon found out through a Hello Fresh representative that logging into a cancelled account AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS YOUR ACCOUNT. I DID NOT RE ACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT...AND THAT DID NOT MATTER. IF YOU EVEN GO BACK TO LOOK AT AN ACCOUNT YOU CLOSED...THEY BILL YOU AND RESEND YOU THE MEALS... THIS IS ROBBERY!
My first meal contained salmon. It was sealed in a package and when I opened it there was no odor it was so fresh and delicious. I'm very impressed with this company.
I signed up to get a box from Hello Fresh with a trial period. After seeing the pre selected meals, and no way to change them, I just decided to cancel it right after. By the end of the week, I got a message that they charged my account. I contacted them, and asked why I was charged when I cancelled long before the shipping, the rep never answered my question, and then just said she would send me a refund. I contacted them over and over again about my refund, and they claimed it was "processing." Finally, I just disputed the charge with PayPal and it was taken care of... at the bottom of their website it says you have to request to, TERMINATE your account in writing and it takes 45-60 days for them to even respond to confirm your request! Canceling and deactivating your account doesn't do anything! They will save and hold on to you account info, and payment info and send yearly charges! They basically have your consent while your account is with them. So request them send you a letter in the mail, send it back certified to terminate your account, if you email them, they continue to lie, they are truly "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing!"

It is a SCAM! If you receive a promo code and/or use the promo code of first order, be careful it is a way to attract you to create an account, order and put your credit card!
I created an account for the first time, applied the promo, paid my first order, received a confirmation and few hours later... My order has been canceled because I am "not eligible" for the promo code because I am "already" a client... WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE!
I contacted the customer service and they told me that they found some similitude with another account and I ask which ones (email address is denifitely different as I could register, phone number is the first time and personal so not possible, the only thing is the postal address because I leave in the building... But what if one person in the building order, all the other cannot because we are at the "same address" even though we are unrelated?!). Anyway, the customer service said that they cannot share that information with me and that they cannot do anything as it is the system...
Well, I would say that they want to SCAM! Because all other orders are scheduled in my portal only the first orders with promos are cancelled... Which means that if you are not careful they continue to charge you at the base price without applying what they promise. They are giving false advertisement.
For this practice, I ban this company, the company is not even helpful... They could at least investigate to make sure that I am not the same person but they do not do such effort. Their bad they lost a client and got a very negative feedback that I will post everywhere to warn people.
I ended up getting my box. I thought that they would at least send good food. They should file for a DBA as Back of your pantry.
I ordered the veggie box and received 15 carrots in sum. For the curry box they only sent a tablespoon of curry and a can of coconut milk, pack of jasmine rice, acorn squash, tiny brown onion, soy sauce?, a half rotting ginger, parsley?, and 3 carrots. I have question marks after some ingredients because they don't make sense. I didn't even get any recipes. Maybe my standards are high, but I firmly believe that Hellofresh offers bad service. You're paying for shipping, packaging, and overhead. I guarantee that the one curry box cost less than $5. Each box looked like it was less than $55.
I'll go on but I made my point above. The mac and cheese pack came with with a full pack of carrots?, shells, 2 small packs of cheddar cheese, and 3 cartons of 4oz milk. No recipe. My minestrone soup box came with half bunch of kale, a small brown onion, box of canellini beans, 5 carrots, and 2 cloves of garlic. Where's my base? Yea. I am not doing this again.
I ordered one box to try it out. That experience was great but I chose to discontinue/ in their words, pause. AND INWAS SHOCKED TO BE CHARGED FOR ANOTHER BOX ARRIVING THIS WED. Calling the customer service, the only thing they could tell you is that there is nothing we can do, you have already been charged. The entire call filled with nonchalancy and people chatting loudly in the background. NOTE THAT ONCE YOU PAUSE, YOU CANNOT PAUSE INDEFINITELY, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESUME WITHOUT WARNING YOU AT AND AND CHARGE YOU ACCORDINGLY. No receipt was even sent to my email. THE ONLY WAY IS TO CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT. Now that the box is areiving on Wed and my fridge probably does not have any space for any of these food at all. Great disappointment to their service and subscription policy.
While the quality of the food is great, don't expect the same from the customer service. I was given a trial offer of this site from a coworker, and when I went to cancel it as it's a recurring payment, the earliest cancellation date was the week after my trial. As my trial offer didn't give an end date, I thought nothing of it until I saw I'd been charged for that week. I contacted their customer service about it asking for a refund since I'd already cancelled my membership with them, but they said since I'd chosen the week after my trial (the earliest available time I could choose mind you), that they weren't able to give me a refund. So I replied to them again through the same email thread, just to get the exact same email back! Again, the quality of the food was good, but if you have any issues at all with your order or cancellations or anything that requires an interaction with their customer service, forget about it. Incredibly unhelpful, and makes me cringe that I have to even call what they did "customer service."
I really only wanted to see what they offered. But even to just get into the site, you have to give them your CC info. I didn't like the offerings and made no choices and canceled that day. Come to find out I get a shipment anyway and of course my card was charged. My account info says I've canceled. I sure hope the cancellation stays in place and they don't charge me again or send any more food.
I made no choices, but they sent me three pork choices and one chicken. I did say that I was a pescatarian. But I get lots and lots of pork. That I did not choose. My meat-eater husband is out of town. Will it all save for a week until he's back? Do I eat just the sides and let the meat stay in the freezer for him.
AND Veho delivery couldn't find my house. It is hard to find, unless one uses Google Maps. Nothing else will get you here. We did manage to meet up and I did get the food.
All in all I'm not happy with HF and how they charged me and sent unwanted food despite my immediate cancellation, no with Veho and their delivery. I should be more forgiving to Veho, though. If there was going to be a next time, I'm sure they'd find me.
I'm giving two stars instead of one because I'm trying to make up for being grumpy to the Veho drivers, not that it helps them at all. :(

On Sunday, I tried cancelling my order that I placed 10 hours prior. I wanted to cancel because it didn't even let me choose what I wanted in my box. I had to ask customer service what was in it because their site is difficult to navigate. The food that they selected for me I wouldn't even feed my dog. They were adamant about not letting me get a refund and told me that I was getting a package today, February 8th. I asked to speak to a manager and she said that they were in a very important meeting and nobody was able to assist me so they would call me back.
It is now February 8th with no phone call back, no tracking number and another hour of sitting on the phone with customer service. When I called I told them I have no tracking number and no way of knowing if I will even get a package today. They said my box was lost or damaged in transit and could not be found. I had to sit and ask 3 additional times for a refund before they sent it over to me. So what could have been resolved on Sunday was dragged out and now I am even more upset.
What a waste of food, and a waste of a company. They are just taking advantage of people. And if you want 5 meals a week for 2 people it is $108 plus shipping every week. I don't know about everybody else, but I want to save money, not over pay on food I cannot even choose. I spend $250 a month on groceries for myself. Not everybody has over $400 to just give away every month.
Do NOT use this service, look for others that actually care about you.
I HAD CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION AFTER MY FIST BOX. THEN MONEY WAS TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR ANOTHER BOX. CALLED THEM WHEN I SAW THE TRANSACTION. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS TO LATE TO CANCEL THE ODER, BY 1 DAY. I DIDN'T PICK OUT THE MEALS AND DIDN'T WANT THE ORDER. WANTED A REFUND. BUT THEY TOLD ME I COULDN'T GET THE REFUND. STILL THE BOX HAS BOT BEEN PACKED OR SHIPPED. I FIND THAT A LITTLE STRANGE IT COULDN'T BE CANCELED. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. SO NOW I'M GETTING SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T PICK OUT OR WANT. AND OUT $80.00, THAT IS REALLY SOME BS.

I ordered hello fresh for the first time, and in one of my meals one of the ingredients did not come. It was the Avacado in the ground beef and guacamole tacos. I do not recommend this company.
Food delivery are not great in Industrial area as the food delivery will left on sidewalk unattended to rats with my case. Hard to cancel even with numerous attemps via-email seems unhonour. Food are not prepared and need full cooking in all cases. Disatisfaction from deliveries to professtional help. Not recomanded to anyone who does not have cooking facility, personal attentive to deliveries, food are not really great and doubt about sanitatary as despatcher will leave food packages on addressee vacnity unnotice.
So, quite honestly, I was all ready to tell people that I liked Hello Fresh. I mean, is it REALLY their fault that my preteen son didn't enjoy most of what they sent? No, surely not! However, I am not a firm believer that this company is poorly run and has inept, RUDE, customer service.
I cancelled my subscription the week of July 4th because, as stated above, my son did not enjoy the food. On 7/13, overnight, my account was charged $69. UGH! I called customer service to sort out the mix up. I was assured, by Saneeta, that they would fix this for me and she apologized for the error in charging. I was satisfied and agreed to wait for my refund to hit.
Fast forward to 7/20... NO refund yet. NO call. NO nothing. I contact Hello Fresh and speak to Samantha who tells me Jesse (the supervisor) will call me. Jesse never calls. Samantha calls back and says they will not refund my $69, but they can "meet me half way" and give me half the money OR they can give me another box. WHAT?! NO! NO WAY! Give me my money!
I call back and ask for Jesse. I am livid by now. Jesse tells me the same thing Samantha did. I told Jesse I will now give them poor reviews on EVERY site and I will get my money back through my wonderful bank. Now, the charges in the process of being reversed and I am making good on telling everyone about my bad experience.
STAY AWAY from these people. They are scam artists and will NOT honor cancellations or refunds! Ridiculous!
I wasn't sure I wanted to try it, so I created an account. Because of dietary restrictions, they had very few options that I can eat, so I decided I didn't want to order from them. But I couldn't cancel. They do not let you cancel until you have received at least 1 box. Meaning I am out $100+ because the only meals I can have are the "premium" meals. The fact that many of their supposed 40 meal choices actually have additional fees is another problem entirely. DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU'RE NOT ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU WANT THE SUBSCRIPTION. I feel like the signup, if not the whole thing, is a scam.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
