$129 DOWN THE DRAIN FROM ROTTEN FOOD THAT WAS DEL TO MY HOME I HAVE CALL AND CALL EMAIL NOTHING EVER DONE THEN THEY HIT MY ACCOUNT $80.00 AGAIN THAT WAS REFUNDED THANK GOODNESS BUT THE OTHER $129.00 WAS NOT THROW MONEY AWAY
I was buying hello fresh regularly, I decided that I was bored of the meals and put my account on hold. However they continued to dmsend boxes of food, I was away for a week when it first happened and I got home to it rotting in my driveway. Even after Putting my account on hold they still took money from my debit card. I canceled that card and rang my back to stop giving he'll of reach authority. I reached out to them via their chat and asked them to please stop sending boxes and to cancel my account. I told then I had put my subscription on hold. They told me they could only refund half the money and that they would send the next box to a food charity, whatever. They didn't, it still arivved at my house. I am now being harrased! Absolutely harrassed by their debt agency for money, calls and emails. You are not getting any money. I canceled my subscription. I double checked that no more boxes where coming to my address. Please $#*! off a leave me alone
We tought Hellofresh was a good way to save time, it lost us a ton of time et we never received any food from them. It litteraly have given us headache after headache et we keep waiting for costumer service to get back to us, wich they never do. The first week the box never came and after two days, we had no news from hellofresh and called them, only then did they told us that our box was damaged and gave us a refund. The second week they told us the box was delivered while i was sitting 2 meters away from the door. We never received it and after asking our neighbours, none of them did either. It's a scam, don't waste your money and your time.
I was interested to try a meal delivery service but it was so expensive I was hesitant until I got (about 100) HelloFresh.com 6 meals for $20 cards. I decided to bite and chose my three meals. About a week later, we received them.
I was surprised how heavy the box was. After opening, I realized that 98% of the weight was dry ice. The meals were exceptionally small. The "steaks" were of low quality and only about 3.5 ounces each. The shrimp, for which I paid an additional $15.98 for two meals, were the cheapest variety of very small shrimp and there were very few of them. Add to that, I did not realized this was an extra charge until I saw my credit card charge since they DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGES when you check out.
So, overall, it is a lousy and very expensive service. For half the price of what it would have cost without the coupon, I could have purchased 3 times the food from a quality grocery store (e.g. Whole Foods)!
Don't waste your money on this "service" since it is overpriced and of low quality.
This company is the WORST! I had a coupon for a discounted week so I used it and then suspended the account immediately. The meals were OK. Four weeks later the account reactivated itself (according to the call center that was in the agreement but how about an email heads up). The red bell pepper in one of the meals was moldy and that meal was a waste. The next week nothing came at all so I thought it was a fluke but I found out it was still billed to me. They said they would discount the meals I never received and that they knew I never received as a "courtesy". Then, even though the meals were still in their warehouse, they refused to refund a pending delivery. I think they would have charged me for the week I did not receive if I wouldn't have called even though they know FedEx didn't pick up that week. This is a SCAM and not worth it at all. The meals aren't nearly as good as Blue Apron. Phone customer service is TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY!
I, like many reviewers, received a free promotion from a family member. We put it in and scheduled it for last week. The meal was fine - the produce was kind of so-so but whatever. My family ate it.
We were still on the fence whether it was worth it or not though. Last week we also ran into a Groupon for a discounted box of Hello Fresh, which we jumped on. I didn't even give much thought to it until I logged in Monday and discovered it had already shipped out this week's Hello Fresh.
What? I didn't even know I was signing up for a subscription when I tried it! To make matters worse, there was no notification/email sent that it was made OR that it had even shipped!
Needless to say, I feel duped by Hello Fresh. Sure it's a fine concept, but this practice is shady at best. The fact that others are complaining about it too makes me question the honesty of this company. You can better believe I'm going to watch the company carefully once I cancel and report any fraudulent charges if they don't honor that I close the account.
Got two boxes, some produce was frozen and I was unable to use them or cut away most of it.
Second week of two boxes and it was horrible! The peppers that they sent me where either mushy (as in liquid running in the bag) or wrinkling, which means to me that I had to cook them that day. Green onions on all the tops where black and molding. Garlic got frozen and became mushy after it thawed out. The key components to each dish I had to throw away. The only thing worth keeping was the seasonings. Even the meat was swimming in liquid in their vacuum sealed bags.
So I called to get my money back on at least the last two I got. I was refused a refund, all I would be able to get was $20 refund on my card and a $20 credit to an account I was never going to use again! They even said that I could send pictures to "verify" and show their shipping department, but when I asked if I go through all this and it is what I am saying it is, I will get my refund? She basically told me no. So I hung up on her.
It's a scam. Don't waste your money or frustration
Avoid if you want to try before you commit
You commit to a second box before you've tried your initial free one... Really, really poor as they blame this on having to order the good for your second box before you try your first. They will not prompt you to choose your meals for your second box. So I've got to pay for a box of meals without selecting or see what I'm getting!
The FREE trail is structured purposefully to catch you out it would seem. I actually got an email today that says they are changing their email structure so you get this the Sunday before your Wednesday cut off. So evidence here they haven't been doing enough to make the process clear- they should therefore honour refunding people who felt enough communication was not made before this new email schedule roll out. Looking at reviews would seem this change is due to Frequent dissatisfaction.
Jamie Oliver should be wary of promoting this as there are a fair amount of disgruntled users. Worth also mentioning although they claim to adhere to the 14 day cooling not off period (which made me feel safer about trying it out), they then counter this by saying it's not applicable to fresh goods...! So no kind of buyer protection here.
Hello fresh claim their family meal box feeds a family of 4-5. The meal portions seemed reasonable in the first couple of boxes but then gradually decreased. When I called them to ask about meal portions I was told I should be receiving 150g serve of meat per person and if I received less this must be an error. In the next box I received 2 meals with less than 500g meat total (to feed 5 people). When I called again and asked for a refund was told meals are for 2 adults and 2 small children only, thus this amount was sufficient. An example of a meal would be 480g mince, two potatos and 2 zucchini, sprig of herb. No way enough for a family of 5 and a complete rip-off. I paid $38 for a meal with ingredient worth $15 max.
It's a fun way to prepare a meal. Sometimes it gets boring planning meals but they send innovative recipes that are a bit different from everyday. It's good even for 1 person. Try it.
I've had massive issues with orders showing up past when they are supposed to be here. I decided to give them another chance, first box was supposed to be here yesterday...halfway through today and STILL WAITING...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Home Chef was better...
Wouldn't recommend Hello Fresh at all. Used their service as they had a black friday deal for £16 which worked out cheaper than my weekly shopping but they forgot to pack a meal and gave me the wrong ingredients for a different meal. The options for vegetarians is also pretty limited and for vegans it's basically non-existent. If you try and cancel you have to go through 4 or 5 cancellation screens. They try and ask you if you have special dietary requirements like vegan, at which point they re-direct you to their other company which is Green Chef. I'd avoid that too although I've heard it is better.
The fruit and veg was also pretty old looking by the time I got mid way through the week. The food I did cook was very tasty but I struggle to see how any of the ingredients or quality of the menus are worth full price? They were quick to give me a refund but defaulted it to Hello Fresh website credit. I asked for it to be sent to my bank account straight away instead and they agreed.
Do yourselves all a favour, find some of their recipes (or anyone elses) and buy the ingredients yourself! Shop local too!
Always on time, always delicious, good proportions and easy to follow instructions. Packaging is also getting less. Things like oil shouldn't be included though since we have it at home.
Avg. 500kcal per meal (like a 13yo girl would need for lunch). They write about 1.5-2x more calories on their recipes than they actually deliver. The recipes themselves are poorly made show the wrong pictures of the steps or the steps are just in an inconvenient order and way too overengineered. On almost every package there's at least one ingredient missing or swapped. Often meat packages are damaged and vegetables are moldy. Also, account for energy costs/time loss as almost every recipe wants you to turn on the oven even for just roasting a mini zucchini for 5 mins. Everything is poor quality. 2x time loss, 0.5x food.
Horrible customer service. My husband and I had used Hello Fresh a while back and had multiple bad experiences- open meat that leaked all over the rest of our food items-rotten meat that smelled horrific and was discolored, rotten produce (happened a lot), and late deliveries. But, when they sent a coupon code and boasted newer better recipe options we were convinced to give them another try; hoping that newer and better would apply to their overall commitment to excellence. Not the case. They did not even deliver our last box. When I called about it, they told me that if I did not have the box (that had been delivered to a wrong address) in hand to return, then they could not refund the money we had paid. How does that make any sense. They recommended that I go knock on the door of the residence where it was delivered (again, not our address!) and try to retrieve the box. So confused and upset. Luckily I was able to dispute the charge with my credit card company, but for anyone looking to use Hello Fresh, don't bother. If they bother to deliver you food at all, it won't be fresh, and they definitely don't care. I was calm and tried to work through this call to arrive at a sensible outcome. They preferred to keep my money and not my business. Worst service ever!
Most of these 5 star reviews must be bots or paid. Food selection is fine, but terrible customer service. I had two of my meals delivered without the protein and HelloFresh would only give me credit for them, no refund. On top of that, i can't even use the credit (which is MY money) until my next non-discounted delivery, which would be after I buy 50 more deliveries! I was so upset, and after expressing my frustration… they were able to refund me $25. I spent $61 that week for 3 meals, only received 1 because of their mishap, and got compensated for $25. That doesn't even cover half of my purchase! I essentially paid $36 for 1 meal and some extra seasoning that I'll never use. Ended up canceling my account because the way HelloFresh run their business is unethical. Their subscription service scams you into signing up where you'd only get discounted on your first box, and unless you're careful, they will be quick to send you your second delivery the next week at full price. And if they screw up on your delivery and forget to include the main ingredients… good luck trying to get your money back despite it being their mistake. I paid for food that I never received and couldn't even get a full refund.
Offer Bait, They give you offer code just to buy something more and then to pay for it. There is nothing called as free meals without paying them something.
Canceled first time due to meats arriving with pin holes in packaging. Decided to give another try, well same thing occurred, called once and they assured me they would be doing an EXTRA QUALITY control check before sending out. To no surprise the very next package arrived with pin holes in the chicken package (always the chicken packages) canceled FOR GOOD THIS TIME. They show so little concern, wonder how many people have had this same issue. Hello Blue Apron.
Please BEWARE of these people, they are SCAMMERS! Do not give them access to your credit card or PayPal account because once you cancel your subscription with them, they reactivate your account WITHOUT your authorization and automatically charge you again. If you call them they do not give you a solution even if your next delivery has not yet been processed. I hope that PayPal can give me a solution because it is impossible to deal with this fraudulent company and their non-existent customer service.
So disappointed in this website. Rotted fruit and rotted vegetables arrived. I told him I was allergic to beef they substituted pork and then sent me beef that leaked all over my carpet in my house.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
