I was sent a free box to which i had to pay delivery. They then used my account details to take further payments. I called to put a stop to this to which inwas told i should have read the terms and conditions and its too late. All the meals i was sent were ot requested as i wasn't aware i signed up to a weekly subscription so i didn't like anything so all got chucked in the bin. When i asked to speak to a manager the phone was put down on me. Disgusting servive NEVER USE ITS A SCAM
Absolutely appalling service. I rejoined after a gap of a few years as I wanted to try these meals again. Previously we were able to cancel on the app easily. However now when I go through the app I am directed to a phone number. I am non verbal and phonecalls are impossible. So I found thier customer service email address and explained this asking that they cancel my subscription for me due to being unable to make a phone call. I was then promptly sent an email telling me to call the phone number to do this from a customer service representative. I have had to inform my bank that I don't wish any further payments to be taken and change my card details to prevent any further payments. This is absolutely revolting that a firm like hello fresh are so discriminate when I made it clear what my disability was and I will be taking this further.
Would you demand that a wheelchair user climb a flight of stairs to cancel their subscription. How do you expect someone non verbal to do this verbally. I have attached a copy of my email and their response so there is no doubt this is a genuine experience.
I was notified of a shipment today from Hello Fresh and just spent 45 min on their chat and talking to a live person only to be told they WOULD NOT ISSUE A CREDIT because I had missed their deadline. Yes I missed it but only by 24 hours. I many things to do which does not include checking fine print to see if I've obeyed their rules. I have never heard of such hardnosed customer service policies
If you are considering using Hello Fresh DON'T. No matter how good their food may be their customer service policies are lousy
I am writing this review as I have tried to get a response from HelloFresh multiple times, but have not received a response. Recently reactivated my HelloFresh account after two years, as I was interested in seeing what was on offer and looking at menu options. During this process, I never progressed to place an order or even had the opportunity to update my details (including address and banking details) that had changed after two years. The day after reactivating my account, I received a notification that a box had been ordered, at which point I sent a message via the contact form to cancel the order and any upcoming orders. I received no response to this message and did not hear from HelloFresh until my order was 'delivered' a few days later. This happened again the following week, in which I followed the same process, and again, received no response. As my address has changed since I last used the service, I assume the boxes were delivered to a previous address. Had I wanted to resume the weekly order, I would have obviously updated my address and banking details. At this point I cancelled my account with HelloFresh. I don't even want to sign into my account again, in case this triggers another order.
I have received expired food from them. And I have been charged for boxes I never received! When you call the customer service they simply say it has been processed so we won't give your money back!
First started with Hello Fresh all was good and enjoyed the service and price and quality. Then I assume a change was made with their operations people. First, packaging changed and our 4 dinners were squished into a box crushing them inside. Got a credit for that one. Finally changed back to larger box. Then changed ICE vendors apparently and had situations where box did not stay cold, that was fixed and also credited. Then delivery issues. Missed our delivery, got credit for that, came next day. 3 out the last 7 weeks box delivered to wrong address. I drive around neighborhood to get my package. Got credit for that. Lots of credits, don't think I am alone. So while they always make good with credits, the hassles are annoying. Told them I will not drive around looking for my box anymore. They don't use UPS so whoever their service is has trouble reading numbers I guess. Anyway, it is a shame, because it started out so well. If issues continue I will have to move over to another service.
Absolutely the worst service, overpriced food, incorrect orders, unprofessional and rude customer service all around, carriers hired do an extremely terrible job and they only have ONE job WHICH IS TO DELIVER THE PACKAGE. Carriers are the worst, drag their feet, quick to dump the packages in undesignated locations where they can get stolen and damaged before running off to finish early. I have no idea where they find these employees but it's laughable. Customer service representatives are also extremely rude and unprofessional, I wouldn't hire them to mow my lawn. BE WARE STAY AWAY
The three stars just mean it isn't for me. The packaging is just more than I can bear and have no idea how much of the cost am I paying for the extravagant amount of packaging. It is my opinion that they should do this with their own system of delivery. Nowadays just about EVERY CONSUMABLE BUSINESS HAS SOME SORT OF DELIVERY SERVICE. The customers and the company would be better served if they had their own delivery instead of paying for boxing and shipping. The customers would be getting their ingredients faster instead of having it sit in a warehouse or truck for delivery. The shipment I got had some ice bags that WERE ALREADY MELTED meaning it sat in a truck for hours before it got to me.
BAD SERVICE... The food is good, however every 3rd or 4th delivery doesn't show up. They use unreliable no-name delivery service and half the time the food is"lost in transit" or shows up a day late with the ice melted so the food is no longer cold and fresh. When you call to complain, good luck getting thru to them. My last delivery didn't show up, I called and held for 25 minutes, hung up, called back a few hours later, held for 11 minutes, hung up, called back again held for 15 minutes... But they are very reliable on taking your money. They took my payment of $65 plus $7.95 for shipping and the food never showed up. Good luck getting in touch with them to get a refund. I'm being kind by giving them 2 stars because the food is good but they are VERY unreliable on the delivery. I guess they never heard of FedEx or UPS, or just plain old USPS would be more reliable then the delivery service they use. This is the 3rd time that my food didn't show up. It's been 2 days and I'm still trying to reach them to get my money refunded. Putting customers on terminal hold is the sign of a very poorly run company. You're better off having your local grocery store deliver - at least they'll show up with your food.
Got Hello fresh deal, 6 meals (2 weeks) for 20 bucks on groupon. First time signing up was a hassle. They charged me full price before even letting me use my groupon deal or picking my meals. Talked to customer service and they fixed it. Got that first week's meals and liked them. Second week I went online to pick my meals and again, they had picked my meals and charged me already. (Time to pick meals is very unclear on website) Husband and I talked to customer service and asked to change meals. They said they would do that. When we got the box we realized the meals had never been changed by customer service as promised. We contacted customer service again and they said they'd refund us for that box. We said ok, and we would like to skip next week's box. Now we just saw we just got charged for the box that we supposedly skipped. We just want to wait until we get refunded to get our last box, which will probably be a huge hassle like everything else so far. We officially despise using Hellofresh. Never again!
Activated my subscription last week and surprise, I got an extra fees 3.98$ (plus the 1$ fees for re-subscription) on my PayPal account!
I called them to understand what's going on and they pretty much told me that it is what it is...
Apparently I got a premium meal, which has premium quality ingredients the "helper" said "that's why we charged the extra, because of the premium quality of the ingredients for that premium meal"... but... HelloFresh is not suppose to be all about freshness and premium ingredients in EVERY MEALS?
So, I pay for my boxes to get fresh ingredients to make good meals but apparently, just like that, they can decide which ones are better than others so they can charge whatever extra fees they want, whenever they want... well, I call that stealing!
Plus the supposedly premium meal I selected without even knowing, had no indication whatsoever saying that it might have extra charge for it, either in the page of the meal itself or the total of the receipt... you just have the "nice" surprise when you receive your invoice from PayPal.
So... 4.98$ (It doesn't take many customers to make 100$) in extra that I had to pay because, like the help center guy said, "it is what it is, it's the system"
I'm going with Goodfood now and will not recommend HelloFresh again.
In order to view the recipes you have to add your credit card information before hand as I reviewed I did not see anything that interest me. I canceled my membership and requested no deliveries the next day there's a charge of 5125 on my bank account stating that I did place an order, and it will be delivered by June 9. I called customer service sent them proof of cancellation and they said they are sending me their choice and charging me for nothing that was in my cart and that I canceled they will not refund me. They were arrogant. Customer service was not helpful even though I emailed the girl proof and then she disconnected with me while she was looking into. It called back spoke to another customer service person. She was extremely rude told me I had three days from the day that the order would be shipped. I canceled within 15 minutes as I looked into it, but because they had my credit card information, they took it upon themselves to place an order and send me unknown food that I not requested and will not return or refund me. This is a scam I would watch out.
I attempted to give this a try for the first time and it was a TOTAL disaster! The site was Not user friendly at all, wouldn't save my meal selections, couldn't customize anything, and when I tried to cancel the box and subscription I couldn't even talk to anyone for 48 hrs either through chat or on the phone, when the shipping confirmation on items I couldn't use and didn't want arrived.
When I FINALLY could talk to a CSR I got the same BS runaround that everyone else here has had. An unauthorized charge that can't be reversed on their end by design, and a lot more headache than the "convenience" of pre-established meals.
Run! Half of what we Would have enjoyed was "Sold Out", and anything else was prohibitively expensive to swap to, leaving us with a bunch of food that won't get half consumed from dietary needs/preferences. We are a household of Autistics and this was the WORST experience ever!
I like this service, but could not continue because it's very frustrating when trying to cook with mushy, watery vegetables. And I had to think, "how is this FRESH, if it's FROZEN?". Hello?
This horrible $#*! service takes like an hour to cancel and makes you jump through $#*!ing hoops just to be able to say you dont want their $#*!ty $#*! box any more
Hello fresh is a SCAM! Please do not give them any of your money, they will over charge you, send boxes that aren't yours, and charge you for weeks that you skipped!
Ordered my 1st orders ever. 1 meal came ruined. All they wanted to do was give me credit to order more food when all I wanted was my meal fixed. This was my 1st and last time using hello fresh
It seemed like a good idea at first but after months of receiving meals I found it really was NOT worth it at all. Too expensive in comparison to portion which seems very small and difficult directions that could be written more easily. I called them to put a hold on the account because I was going to NC for the summer which they did. A month later I get a deliver and meanwhile I am out of state. I call them and they won't return my money and only offer me a credit for half of the amount expended for their mistake. I told them if I had to call my credit card company and write to the Better Business Bureau I will never ever be a customer of theirs again. Well they would not give me a full credit so I had to waste my time contacting my bank (and I got a full refund) and the Better Business Bureau. HelloFresh. That was a very poor choice to treat a customer that way and not give me a full refund. You lost a customer of 1 year and I will NEVER come back to your company again. Very foolish decision. But an A+ for pissing me off.

Never placed a order then noticed that my card had been charged. I never got any communication that anything had been ordered. Have no idea what is coming. I called to get my Money back I was told the order had already shipped and there was nothing they could do. I am a single Mother that chose not to use Hello Fresh because my son would not eat the food. To my surprise I found a charge on my credit card. I now have 4 meals being sent to me I never ordered and lost money I could use to feed my Son and Hello Fresh can't do anything about it. I WILL NEVER USE HELLO FRESH THEY ARE A RIP OFF AND ARE KEEPING FOOD OUT OF MY SONS STOMACH BECAUSE THEY WONT REFUND THE BOX I NEVER ORDERED.
Terrible customer service. I spoke with someone in July who told me I had UNTIL Oct 31st to cancel my subscription. Then when I got charged on the 27th I called to see why, they said "no you need to call BEFORE the next shipment date." I contacted customer service (who had the convo on file) and they did nothing to help the 79 dollar charge I was issued, for something I did not order. This is not the first time I've had bad customer service with them
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
