Harry & David deserves a great review. I've been ordering from them for a couple a years & I have not been disappointed. My friends live out of state, and the make gift giving easier. I just ordered a holiday gift which they received in less than a week & they love it! It was an adorable holiday personalized gnome cookie jar with their family members names on it-so cute! I think the shipping cost was worth it since I didn't have to do it. In addition, whenever anyone sends me a gift from Harry & Davids- its always very good.
Ms. Katie deserves an excellent rating for her manner of handling my orders. She was quite helpful and pleasant, straightened the initial choice that I made, which did not take advantage of the "passport"(?) offer for shipments, found a better delicious alternative of an additional gift to complete my order for one friend, combined those two orders into one so that both were delivered at the same time, did whatever she could to have my gift to another friend delivered right on Valentine's Day, replaced my email address and ensured that the charges to my account were correct. Thank you very much Ms. Katie! You create a good reputation for Harry & David.
OK UPDATE: After writing this review they offered to replace the pears and ship another batch. We will see what we get. Ordered a big box of pears from Harry and David and showed up frozen. When i ask H&D what happened they answer i get is "must be cold weather". You would think if you ship fruit to Wisconsin in December you would pack it correctly to protect for that. Support's answer is "too bad". All i can say is WOW. 12 Pears for over $50.00. Save your money and don't buy from them.
No one is home at Harry and David. I have emails after email that recites the same rote script, despite that I am making real complaints that need to be addressed! It is shameful and heads should roll. Stay away from this formerly respectable company.
Look I am a sonoma County girl. H & D takes advantage of people who don't know wine to buy their overpriced sucky wine and a do it yourself paint set for $79... yuck. There are much better wines under $25... and not H and D... I stopped buying their products years ago. So disappointed..
I ordered Thanksgiving meal for my family this year. It didn't arrive. I was on the phone to thousands of different agents in Philippines as thats where they outsource their labor. Terrible service, no explanation and simply no idea why this happened. The sad part when finally got a hold of someone in the US, they simply offered a 20% of the next purchase, like I would ever purchase from them again. Please be wary!
Don't use Harry and David unless you have a long lead time. I made a "get well" gift order for my sister. It's been over 3 days and the order hasn't even shipped yet. Worthless call center foreigner says it will ship in the next "few days." Should have used Amazon.com; she would have had gift before Harry & David even shipped. Also, Harry & David'a standard shipping takes 4-5 business days (a week) unless you pay expensive extra fees. Never again!

There were six items in it from Wolfermans Bakery. All of them were stale, I called customer service for the first one that I ate and they sent me a replacement but it was no better. I honestly don't know why anyone would ever order from this company. I've gotten better quality bakery goods from the day old table at our local bakery store.
Ordered a $160 Christmas gift basket on Dec-7 for delivery to family. Price included confirmed delivery shipping. Item was not sent during the confirmed delivery time period. Called H & D customer service center which must have been in India as "Babu" spoke unintelligible English. We did learn the gift basket ordered was out of stock until further notice. No email notice sent by company to update out of stock status or shipping delay. We cancelled the order and went with a different company. We will NEVER buy from this store again. This was our first...and last experience dealing with Harry & David. BUYER BEWARE.
Ordered in plenty of time and they guaranteed Thanksgiving food would arrive by today, the day before Thanksgiving. I checked many times to see if I needed a backup plan for days. They didn't even ship it until the evening of the 22nd. Customer Service is obviously overseas. They don't see previous email chains so you have to explain yourself over and over again. Over $100 worth of food that will arrive Friday and spoil since I won't be home.
I ordered a Mother's Day gift on 5/3 and promised it would be there before or on 5/12. Never received it! Customer service is a joke! They use Fed Ex but then give it to US Post Office to finish delivering! My tracking is stuck and is never updated. Wasted $130! Never again! The reviews for Harry and David are awful. Should have read them before ordering
This use to be such a great and reliable company. In the last few years Harry and David has taken a downhill turn. I attribute this decline to their lack of customer service. Their employees are poorly trained and have poor communication skills some barely speak English. It took over and hour, speaking to multiple individuals, to get my Celebrations Passport membership off auto renewal. It's very sad to see a once great company in such decline. They have lost me as a customer.
I have been a Harry and David satisfied customer for decades, but the last few years of service are a disappointment. Orders are unreliable, go missing after confirmed... tracking system is unreliable. Item numbers for some gifts are changed AFTER you order the item, which confuses their system and botches the order. Shipments arrive after the confirmed date... or never. Fresh fruit is of variable quality... not up to par for the premium price paid. I have always received refund when H&D botch an order, so that is not the problem. But if you want a nice gift shipped on time with no headaches... Harry & David fail ~50% of the time.
It's a pity as their products are so yummy! I spent an hour carefully selecting items for my team, inputting their address and ensuring I was within my budget. I placed the order and got a confirmation email... simple and effective. BUT, the next day, I got a message saying I needed to call back as my order was incomplete. After calling them (and taking 10 mins to get to a human being), they said I needed to pay an additional fee before the order could be placed due to tax. At first I thought it was fraud, but no, it was them not having correct processes in place and demanding money AFTER I ordered. They really couldn't help on the phone, so I cancelled my whole order... which then took another 5 emails for them to get that part right. I have no idea how my credit card will be charged, am too scared to look. Shocking H&D, completely shocking.
Today I checked the status of my order that was being sent to a co-worker as a sympathy gift. I ordered this 12 days ago... I sent them an email and 5 minutes later they respond thank you for your recent order (recent order please) that due to an unexpected shortage delay the bakery tray is no longer available! Very poor business / I am so mad
Mother turned 95 on Nov 11, sent basket was to be shipped on 12, Harry n David changed to 18th without telling me. Their solution was to send a letter saying they are sorry. That's not a solution it just shows they just grab the money and run. Had to fight to get a refund but was told it would take 5 to 10 days. You can not count on this company for any gift baskets to send to friends or family …
The Harry&David website made disappear the lower priced items I had selected. I continued with the more expensive items as they offered a free shipment deal at $29.99 for a year. Today, 12/14/20, at checkout, all delivery dates available for free shipment were promptly replaced, bringing my bill from $244.08 to over $400.00. Please avoid their scams!
I received rotten mixed nuts from Harry and David. I attempted to contact customer service and was only able top chat with a robot that kept asking the same question over and over. Do not use this company!
I got a receipt for an order I never made and it went into my personal (not business) inbox. I politely emailed the company explaining the error and asking them to remove me from their mailing list. They responded that they would but bombarded me with promotional emails. I reported these as spam but they keep coming.
Their products are great but since they closed all/most of their stores and everything is online now, their shipping is horribly slow compared to Amazon. Even Walmart shipping is way faster. Ordered two days ago and still shows shipping label created, but no actual movement. FedEx is their shipper and I'm confident once they get my product int their hands it'll move fast…but come on…if you're going to go all online, you need the supply line to get your product moving out of your warehouse.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
