ALL 3 GIFTS NEVER RECEIVED. Contacted Harry and David and was told order would be resent IMMEDIATELY.
Called today.Noone ever received gifts.
Called customer service again and was told they could not find my order number and therefore could not issue credit on charge card. They said a new order for CHRISTMAS COULD BE DELIVETED JANUARY 15.
NEVER ORDER, TRUST OR USE THIS COMPANY.
In April, I ordered a 3 month subscription to the Wine and Cheese Club for my sister's birthday on May 5th. I scheduled the first shipment to arrive on her birthday. The birthday passed, they charged my card, but no shipment, no tracking. I emailed customer service, and they responded a week later. They blamed Covid 19, and I was okay with that, however, they should have posted something about that on their website or they should have emailed me stating that the shipment would be delayed... by several weeks. They said they would send my sister an email letting her know about her gift and that it would arrive sometime in the month of May. They NEVER sent an email, I emailed them back reminding them that they were supposed to email her... No Response. The first shipment finally arrived at the end of the month, then they sent tracking information after the shipment arrived. You can't blame that on Covid 19. The second shipment arrived without incident. Then came July. I got a text from my sister saying she only received the wine. I called customer service and they said they cheese just hasn't been shipped yet... are you kidding me... When the cheese finally arrived, it was the exact same cheese as the previous month. I used to think highly of Harry and David, but this experience has flipped my opinion. I gave them 2 stars because she said it all tasted okay. In the meantime, by inbox has been bombarded with promotional emails from them. Now that all three months have been delivered, it is time to cut my ties and unsubscribe.
I had seen so many ads on TV and wanted to try them. Wondered if they are as good as they appear.
The answer is a resounding NO; For starters - worst customer service. And that takes a lot for me to say. This review would be way too long if I took the time to go over every thing that was wrong - starting with the service rep who literally took 40 minutes on the phone to get the order placed in the first place - I guess to be fair it was an order for the UK. Long story short, I found out that the recipients were in the process of moving and would probably not get the order in time and I had to cancel the order. Cannot begin to tell you how badly this company is lacking in their customer service department. All totaled it took me approximately 2 hours to get everything done - this includes the 40 minute order time as well as time trying to get through to the company, holding and waiting, to being hung up on as well as extra hold time for the rep to figure out what they were doing. Sad but true in this day and age. Not sure if I could give no stars as a rating?
Disappointed. I've ordered from them before to send A basket to my nephew when he got married and it went OK. So I decided to order again to send for my daughters birthday box spoke to the woman on the phone she told me that everything would be sent together and it wasn't not! The birthday cake was sent way before the box gift was and they never sent a card stating that the basket was coming when they said they were they charged enough money for the gift and it's extremely late it's still not even there! But the cake was just thrown in a box in front of her house without any note in there I'm disgusted absolutely disgusted! I will never order from them again and it's a shame because the food is good The cheeses are amazing but the package service sucks and when you speak to the people on the phone they miss inform you and the price goes up by the time you're done with the order which makes no sense when you're looking at the catalog or what's online I will never order from them again! Still waiting for my daughter to get her birthday package I'm disgusted!
FOREIGN CUSTOMER SERVICE FEMALE COULD NOT GET ANYTHING RIGHT DURING A ONE HOUR REPEAT ONE HOUR CONVERSATION I HAD REGARDING THE STATUS OF A H & D GIFT BOX I ORDERED FOR MY DAUGHTER. SHE COULD NOT EVEN LOCATE ANY RECORD OF ME CALLING TO PLACE THE ORDER.
WHILE THE ITEMS H & d SELLS ARE GREAT, H & D "CUSTOMER SERVICE" SUCKS!
AS MENTIONED, THE ITEM I ORDERED WAS FOR A GIFT TO MY DAUGHTER WHO LIVES IN ANOTHER STATE THEREFORE, I HAVE NO PROOF OF PURCHASE! WORSE, I NEVER EVEN RECEIVED AN ORDER NUMBER NOR AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT IN AN EMAIL!
Looks like my experience is about the same as others. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Ordered 2 boxes of Cinnabons on 12/6 and website stated "items are available to ship now". Paid $23 for overnight shipping. Order status stated delivery would be 12/8. Items never arrived on 12/8 and Fedex tracking stated only that the label had been created. Never received any update on order status or communication that delivery would be late. Contacted support on 12/9 and spoke to rep, only was told that items were "in transit". On 12/10 contacted support again since items still had not arrived and Fedex status had not changed. After being on hold for an hour was told again by rep that items were "in transit". Asked to speak to a supervisor, on hold again for 15 minutes. Supervisor finally joined call and could only apologize for the delay. Could not give me any status on the order or expected delivery date, only stated that order was missing the internal tracking number and that it was "probably" in transit and "should" arrive in a couple of days. This was an outright lie. Supervisor would not enter a new order at no charge to replace the existing order to ensure that I would receive the items the next day. Terrible way to address a customer issue. Demanded refund and was told it would be processed. Refund has never been processed. Read reviews on this company before ordering from them.
... I was so impressed and appreciative of what I know was a very expensive box of goodies... cheeses and crackers were very good... BUT the lower level of the box was pears... and I was so looking forward to them because for years we ordered them... but as they got so expensive we had to stop... So the gift box was a wonderful surprise... However the 8 pears never ripened... we followed ripening directions---they are still hard as a brick 4 weeks later... tried cutting them to no avail. I hesitatingly advised the giver so she could get a make-good order. After two days a new box of pears arrived... wonderful! BUT I LEARNED SHE HAD TO PAY FOR THEM---SO BAD! H&D SHOULD HAVE SENT A MAKE-GOOD... CHEAPSKATES AFTER SUCH AN EXPENSIVE GIFT!
My wife ordered some pears and noticed after she placed the order that she had used our old address. She called and was assured the address was changed. It shipped - to the incorrect address and they blamed their carrier for error. Agreed to send another order to the correct address, would get an email confirmation in 30 minutes. You guessed it, no confirmation. She called back and was told it takes 24 hours, not 30 minutes. She called back, no record of the new order. It goes on and on. They don't know what they are doing, their service is horrible and if you've read the reviews from others you can see also often poor product. If you are smart, just don't order from them. If your goal is to overpay for substandard products, work with a company that doesn't meet their commitments to customers, engage in false promises from their offshore customer service call center and come away completely frustrated, then by all means. Place your order with Harry and David. Just don't whine when you are met with frustration and disappointment. If I could give them negative stars, I would.
Every Christmas, we always used to look forward to the Christmas Tower of Treats that my mother used to send us. When she passed away in 2010, I continued the tradition of sending them to my siblings. So this year, I sent my two brothers an item that appeared on their website under the promo "Buy 1 get 1 50% off. I spent over $ 100 and paid their ridiculously expensive shipping fee of $44 just to keep the family tradition alive.
Imagine my surprise when I check my credit card statement and saw that I was charged FULL PRICE for both items!
I called Harryand David customer service, which in the past has been very helpful, only to get a representative who was very sorry but could do nothing to help me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she told me that "they" were very busy with other customers. What a surprise to hear that. I'm sure they are very busy with other customers, like me, who feel that they have been ripped off by fraudulent advertising and bait and switch promotional offers. I will be reporting this to my bank as well as the PA Dept of Consumer Protection.
I will never again order anything from this disreputable company!
Was an avid H&D customer back in the 80's and 90's. The expected quality then was premium and I was never disappointed. After living in Italy for 20+ years, I came home and ordered from H&D in 2022. I was dumbfounded at the poor quality. Back in the day H&D would show up in very sturdy packaging that was unattractive, but the taste was incredible. Now the fruit taste like it came from a grocery store and H&D spent all their money on attractive packaging. This tells me the H&D's target customers are halfwits.
When I complained to H&D, someone from their Customer Service Dept called and offered me a $100 credit. I asked them why I would want $100 of credit from H&D when I can get the same quality of fruit from my local grocery store? I told them I didn't want it, said goodbye and never looked back.
If someone ever sends me a gift from H&D, I'll appreciate the gesture, but will be frustrated with needing to take extra-time from my life to deal with the massive amount of packaging/trash - and won't even open the box.
Tried to order on website which would not take a phone number; and when you put in the code for free shipping you only get half the shipping paid for.
Pears were the only fruit included with assorted treats. Fruit was absolutely tasteless - worst pears ever! Candy seemed old... maybe last season? Not worth the $$$
What happened to Harry & David? Definitely not wasting anymore money on their products. They totally failed, the product, packaging and customer service was beyond terrible.
Every year my business buys gift baskets for about 50 customers. Harry & David told us to send us their names and addresses in excel and provide a credit card to begin the order. They then charged us without authorization nearly 7K. We were hoping to get a 20 percent discount or free shipping on the order but because it had a wine bottle they could not offer any discounts (not mentioned anywhere on their site so how could anyone know this). We knew there were shipping issues throughout the country due to Covid so we did not want to cancel the order. Then a customer called telling me his basket arrived today sending me photos of the meat in his basket. What kind of quality control didn't catch this?! This is day one of the delivery, and this meat isn't even close to fresh... I called Harry & David, they asked me to call all my customers and ask if anyone else's meat is moldy and they'd be happy to replace it... Are you serious?! "Hey customer, is your food rotten and disgusting like one of my other clients?" No resolution or money back from these guys. There customer service is a joke and we will not be using them ever again on future orders.

OMG I wished I would have seen ALL THEIR BAD REVIEWS I ordered their thanksgiving whole meal over 400.00 with additional dishes and all I got was a turkey and one dish! Could not believe it and when I called them they said they would send me the rest of dishes on Monday! Thanksgiving is on thursday you idiot Harry and David you ruined my thanksgiving and will be giving you as many as bad reviews anywhere I can! If I can give a 0 rating I would!

I bought my Mom a cookie and flower gift package for Mother's Day. I paid $103 for 14 cookies and a small gardenia plant to be delivered to her by Mother's Day. That in it's self is a rip off, however, Harry and Davids proceeds to take not only my initial payment out of my checking account, but an ADDITIONAL $103 out of my checking account as a "pre-authorization hold". This, I was assured, will be dropped in 5 TO 7 BUISNESS DAYS. No it was not authorized by me, and yes, it reflects against my account balance. All I was told is that, "Yes, I understand, and I am very sorry, but it is not a charge, and I am very sorry..." This money was not authorized to be taken out of my account, Harry and David's just went ahead and took an extra $100 buck of mine to "hold"!? For over priced Flowers and cookies? This company is a complete scam and I will be reporting to the BBB
There is simply no way to describe how bad Mother's Day was ruined by this company. I can tell you my elderly mother and aunt did NOT receive their items as promised as a matter of fact as of today 05/11/2021 and Mother's Day was the 9th my mother still has not received anything. My aunt received half of the order with a personalized card that went to the gift Just in case whoever is reading this review does not know Harry and David sends flower orders to 1-800 Flowers. 1-800 Flowers still hasn't corrected the situation although they offered the solution of allowing dead flowers to continue through transit. I was pretty shocked that anyone would suggest something like. Very long story short $400.00 later and my mother never received any flowers, my sister did get hers, although, my mom and sister live in the same house. My mother was suppose to receive a replacement bouquet and yeah that never happened. The very worst part of this nightmare is my elderly mother thought my sister's flowers were for her, so sad. My aunt got her plant one day and after a long collective 4 to 6 hours on the phone over 3 days she finally got her birdhouse. What a mess! Like I said, the customer service was ridiculous from Harry and David and 1-800 Flowers were just as bad. They each kept throwing it back to the other company. I finally refuted my mothers flowers on my credit card. Never ever again!
Received box of pears and apples for mother's day gift absolutely no taste on pears horrible for what they charged did daughter couldn't even eat no flavor at all
Really want to give them 0 stars but no option for it. My husband and I ordered 5 cheesecakes for our wedding. I even called with questions before placing my online order. I set the desired date of delivery and placed the order. The money was drawn out of my account then was deposited back into my account. I logged in to Harry and David only to find my order was canceled. There was no email or phone call informing me of this at all! I called and was informed that due to the large size of my order my account was marked fraudulent and therefor had indeed been canceled. They apologized for their error and we proceeded to place the order again by phone this time. I was guaranteed over night delivery. The day before our wedding I find my bank account had again had the same withdrawal and deposit of my order. After 20 minutes on hold and a return phone call I was told they never took the code off my account from when it was flagged fraudulent. Again it was canceled and with no warning or communication! I was offered an apology yet again and a 20% off coupon. Needless to say we had to find our wedding cheesecakes elsewhere.
The only thing I can say nice is that the representatives I spoke to on the phone were at least polite but none the less I won't ever order from the company again.
We ordered a pre-cooked turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing to be delivered the day before Thanksgiving at a total cost of $166 ($30 delivery). Three days before the cranberry sauce was delivered. The day before Thanksgiving the stuffing was delivered. The turkey never arrived. On Thanksgiving Day I phone Harry and David's 5 times. The first 4 times I reached people in other countries who barely spoke English and who had families and children talking in the background and with whom the Harry and David representative was conversing while trying to help me with my order. The first person told me the turkey was lost and offered to refund me $40 dollars of the $166 order. The second person told me the turkey was on the way and should arrive at midnight on Thanksgiving day. The third person had children screaming so loudly that neither of us could hear each other and I hung up. The fourth person told me that the turkey would arrive on Friday and offered to discount us $45. The fifth person we spoke to was American. They apologized and offered to fully refund our offer. About an hour later we received two invoices: one for $46 and one for $96. The said INVOICE not REFUND. So it appears that Harry and David have now charged us $166 for a turkey we did not receive AND have now charged us an additional $141 for our trouble. And, of course we are now going to have to spend even more time (probably speaking with out-sourced customer service reps who do not speak English) trying to negotiated a bill for extra money. We have been customers of Harry and David for 25 years. We have no words.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
