Sent pears to as gift and they were very badly bruised and of general poor quality. Called H&D and they tried to make it right by sending another shipment, but the replacement was worse than the first. H&D appears to be making it right by telling us they'd refund the purchase, but still very dissapointed.
I ordered the Prime Rib for a first ever Christmas Dinner at my house 2021. I cooked it exactly as directed. I was so disappointed and embarrassed at the quality of beef. I cannot believe it was prime rib as it was so tough and overcooked. They didn't offer a refund and just said sometimes this happens. Well it shouldn't happen for $125.00! I will spread the word to family and friends.
After 7 years of ordering all my corporate Christmas Gifts through Harry and David, and after checking to make sure they were not owned by the same company, I kept my promise of never ordering from Harry and David again and just completed my corporate Christmas gift shopping through Mrs. Fields cookies. It didn't have to be this way, but their reprehensible approach to customer service offended me to such a degree that I couldn't just simply walk away dissatisfied. Now I cringe when I hear the name.
I place an order which did not come in. So after Christmas I called customer services. No response after telling them my problem. I checked again, they said they couldn't find where I order or shipment. But some how they had no problem of taking it off my credit card, couldn't that either. Again no help. I'll never place another order with them nor will I ever recommend it to anyone else. I see it as just another rip off.
Took them over a week to deliver a cheesecake, from the cheesecake factory. They were a day late with no email apologizing or saying they will be date.
Awfully expensive... probably cheaper to go with other services
Extremely disappointed with delivery service and order confirmation misinformation. When I placed the order for the Christmas Brunch gift set, it stated delivery would be by January 8,2024. I spoke with customer service last night who informed me delivery is delayed until February 7th. The option offered by the customer service representative was to cancel my order. This is unacceptable because it was a thank you gift for a family member who provided tremendous help and support for our daughter's sudden passing in Florida. We live in Connecticut.
I reordered a gift (12-mo fruit subscription) for next year and added a gift for another person. The system changed my original order to the other person's address. When I called, CS said they couldn't do anything since it was already placed. After 3 hours on the phone, they finally said it was corrected (new order) and got my discounted price. A few weeks later the order disappears from my H&D account. I call CS- another 2 hours. Said I had to reorder and they would cancel original order. Promised I would be refunded.
Now they sent 2 orders for the first month and have charged me 2 more times. I have no credits. Another call to CS- another 2 hours. CS rep gave me answers in circles again. Always changing her answers and never directly answering any of my questions. So now I have paid $1700 for some fruit. Awesome!
I ordered a roasted turkey to be delivered for Thanksgiving. The turkey arrived on time however it was so salty it was inedible. My cat wouldn't even eat it. I don't know how the turkey was prepared but the top must have come off the salt shaker and they dumped the whole thing on it. Over $100.00 wasted and a ruined dinner for me. This is the first and last thing I buy from Harry and David.So disappointed!
I have used Harry and David's for years and have always been very pleased with the quality of their products and customer service. However, I recently ordered a Halloween gift for my granddaughter from one of their sister companies "Cheryl's Cookies." The order was scheduled to be delivered on Friday, October 29th. The gift was not received so I checked the status of the order on the Harry and David website. It stated that the order had been cancelled. I had not cancelled the order, nor was I notified of its cancellation. After chatting with an online agent, I was told that they were sorry that the product was out of stock. I would receive a refund within 30 days.
I was very disappointed to hear from my mother that the pears in their Chrismas gift from H&D were bruised in several places. These pears are the only reason I purchase these gift baskets. My mom always raved about them. Not anymore.
I purchased a Christmas dinner on 12/14/2020. The web site said in stock and deliverable before Christmas. On 12/20/2020, I checked the web site on my order. It said "Confirmed" and would be delivered by FedEx on "12/24/2020". I got a call from Harry and David on 12/23/2020 saying some items were not available. The agent then tried to make a package for me but the vegetables were not available. The meat was available. Her computer then locked up. After 40 minutes, she had to hang up. Then another agent called me to tell me my order could not be processed anyway because FedEx had already picked up the last Christmas shipments but I could have "something" shipped after Christmas. This left my son with no Christmas dinner.
Do not do business with Harry and David. A bad company.
I waited nearly a month and a half for my orange delivery. I was patient, hoping for good oranges. I paid over 35 dollars for a dozen hard, small, sour oranges. I could have bought better fruit anywhere. I won't order from this company again.
Harry and David purchased my favorite orange and grapefruit company, Cushman's. I have been a customer for years (used them for my corporate clients as well as personal friends and family). This acquisition seems to have been flawless. They sent my prior gift list with no problem and remembered that I wanted shipments from the west coast for my receipients. Best to order when they offer free shipping (usually the third week of December) as products are heavy. But customer service is absolutely wonderful and they work with loyal customers to give the best value possible. After all these years I'm still here and hope they follow Cushman's reputation to keep customers satisfied. My gifts should start being delivered mid to end of January.
They are never in time and don't do a thing to make it up to you. One Valentine gift was two days late the other owner confused until the 22nd full price by the way. They couldn't care less about their shoddy service. It has happened to me more then once so I'm done.
We ordered from H&D a number of times in the past. We used to advise our friends that the gifts come from orchards etc. in southern Oregon (we have a second home in Portland). In the past, the gifts came quickly and the fruits were fresh. No longer. The last two times, for whatever reasons, they were shipped from Ohio! And took forever to get to our friends. I am going to look to go elsewhere.
This site won't let you rate ZERO stars. I just threw a $120 stuffed chauteaubriand in the trash. I'm glad I wasn't sharing it with anyone else. I ordered this as a treat for myself and had a serving this evening. Followed by intestinal distress. This of course is the last time I will order anything from Harry and David. It's unfortunate that a great company has gone down so far in quality. But it's happening frequently, these days.

I ordered the Get Well Ice Cream gift and paid for expedited shipping to be delivered on 11/11/22. When it was not delivered, I contacted Harry & David and received very poor customer service. I was assured that my order would be canceled and not delivered.
On 11/14/22, I had to contact them again when I realized that the ice cream was out for delivery. Customer service was awful again. Supervisor Bob Welsh assured me that he would personally contact FedEx and prevent delivery.
Three hours later the package was delivered. A mess of melted ice cream was delivered to someone that just had surgery and can barely walk. She has difficulty standing and had to clean up and dispose of this liquid ice cream.
Not only did Harry & David screw up the delivery and their customer service is incompetent, they extremely inconvenienced the recipient.
Received H&D chicken pot pie as a gift. Baked as instructed. Looked great until I cut into it. Collapsed. I counted 2 hunks of chicken and very few peas and carrots. Mostly potatoes. Doughy as it cooled. Gravy dried up. Very disappointed for a $44.00 pot pie.
I received a gift box with food items having no expiration dates to include cheddar cheese and salami (delivered warm & unrefrigerated), moose munch and crackers. Really#? This is a major health and safety issue and clear violation of CPSC and FDA regulations as well as being unacceptable business practices. This stuff went straight the garbage. I also advised the sender of same who sent them out to multiple clients.
I ordered a Lobster Pot Pie on 2/10/23. I paid a lot of money for shipping, etc. using Klarna. When I heated it up to eat I noticed the lobster was just the scraps not any pieces from the tail, and there were pieces of shell as well. I was wanting to order this since before the Holidays, but put it off. Then the price went from $50 to $59.99. I didn't even finish the pie. What a rip off & total disappointment.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
