My husband is 77 yrs old can't hear very well. Bought a paint sprayer $274.00 was charged $50.00 to return unopened. Never will we step foot inside the Tullahoma TN store. You can go on line and they tell you 20% for returns. Most elderly people aren't computer savvy. We don't need store's that pray on the elderly. Never! Never! Will we shop at any of there stores.
I've made many purchases at HF and the majority I've had no problems. That said there are two issues I've had with them I feel worth mentioning. The first was on online purchase where an obviously used/returned gas powered tool was shipped to me. I could tell right away the box had been previously opened. The packing material inside was broken up and the tool itself had mud splashed on it and part of it was rusty. It was obviously used by someone than returned to HF where they put it back into stock without even opening and inspecting it. Needless to say I returned it. The second issue is I recently discovered HF removed a negative review I had given on an item. I leave both positive and negative reviews and while they post the positive ones they remove the negative which calls into question their honesty not to mention business ethics. I emailed them about this and they have yet to post the review as any honest and ethical business would.
I have been buying stuff from Harbor Freight for years, but after my last experience, which still hasn't ended, I am officially done. Finito. The end. I purchased 3 of their solar lights that would have been exactly what I needed if they'd worked. 2 out of 3 that were sent me were defective. Right, that's 66%. To top it off, unlike Ebay and other e-commerce sites, they don't send you a return label you can print from your computer. Instead, you have to WAIT for WEEKS till they snail mail you a label, which I still haven't received, and THEN they claim they will refund your money. Folks, don't be fooled by the cheap prices for junk that is made overseas (you know where) that breaks right after you open the package. You get what you pay for. AND it's not easy to get your money back.
I ordered a Predator chipper 4/10/2020. Received same 4/30 box and mounting hardware open and missing items. Emailed service about missing items and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I could return it to a harbor freight store. I have sent a second email as the weight of this item makes it impossible for me to return.
After a couple emails customer service rep Rick understood my request and ordered the missing items. I have updated my original one star to three stars
Harbor freight sells cheap tools. Some of these tools are very high quality, some are not. They have online reviews done by customers that help a great deal on determining what is good and what is just cheap. Harbor freight has good customer service and delivers when they say they will - no deception. The prices are what keeps people coming back - great prices! Site is easy to navigate and ordering simple.
The Synchrony Bank that is with Harbor Freight credit card has terrible service. Send them a payment 6 days before due date, and they didn't get it applied by due date. Minimum payment was $65 and I sent $125. They wanted to issue me a late payment fee.
I then did the electronic payment method instead. Got confirmation number, and the day after the payment was due, they send me a payment past due notice. They claimed payment was not received, and was not applied. This credit card bank is very questionable. Would never recommend them…. February 2023. I called and made payment and got confirmation number and they still charged me a late payment fee. I am cutting my card up, and all this for only $500 limit. I am done dealing with this joke of a credit system, I have 6 other cards and never an issue.
Trying to talk to someone about this was also a complete joke. The automated system sucks!
Ordered a measuring wheel on March 30, item wasnt even sent to Fed Ex until April 4th. That is the first strike, using Fed Ex. That carrier SUX. Initially expected delivery, April 12? Good grief! Now, after DAYS of waiting for it to even ship, and more time for it to arrive, much later than their site states, delivery date expected now says Saturday, April 13. Harbor Freight has now shown they arent any more dependable than Fed Ex. No wonder they use Fed Ex, both have the same business practices. I wont ever order anything else from Harbor Freight. I have yet to receive the measure wheel so I dont know what I will end up with. If its anything like their shipping times or choices in shipping carriers, it will suck as well. I usually research a site for things such as this, and it never fails me, when I dont research, I end up with this kind of experience. In won't ever make that mistake again.
About 75% of the products are junk and thats why it's cheap but not cheaper than just buying real professional grade products the first time. Customer service is mediocre but hey they honored a warranty one time so yea.
I have shopped Harbor freight for over 10 years. I always considered their tools to be best suited for occasional and beginners and not contractor grade. They are gradually transitioning their pricing upward by adding new product names to make people think they are buying upscale. These brands have no track record, only what Harbor Freight touts. I think they have eliminated the 20% off any item coupon.
This is just my opinion and not based on any proven fact.

It's been over 2 months since I ordered, but no log splitter. Harbor Freight's webpage says it's been already delivered, but still no splitter. I had to file a dispute with my credit card to get my money back. Phone calls are useless because they put you on endless hold and never call you back. Better read this quickly before they delete me again.
Do not buy a 25 Ft. Drain Cleaner With Drill Attachment at Harbor Freight unless you love being punished! Both models are junk! I ordered some items August 30th at 7 a.m. and selected two day shipping. Tracking shows the order will not arrive until September 5th. By my calculations, these items should arrive on September 1st. Customer service said that orders don't download for shipping until late afternoon and are pulled for shipping the next day. So one day down already on the shipping. There is no way with this practice that you could ever actually get two day shipping. They are lying about their 2-day shipping. Don't use!
I brought about 560.00 doLars worth of tools and took them back because they served not purpose and something showed up saying I can't return anything because of the amount of things I returned but they have a 90 return policy and don't pretty much honor it, the store is a joke and I will never shop there again.

They can't find my purchase history and I purchased a safe and apparently they don't offer replacement keys! What store does that. They said to call a locksmith if that situation occurs which is more than the cost of the safe. They say this is for security reasons, wth.?
I purchased a torque wrench. I believe it was calibrated incorrectly. I broke two bolts on my bicycle with it. I was unable to ride my bike for about six weeks as I awaited parts. Thankfully the bike company (Trek) sent me the bolts at no cost. However, I returned the torque wrench and filled a claim. Harbor Freight claims the tool is working as intended and as the bike company sent me the replacement bolts at no charge, they feel there is no harm to me as a consumer. Unfortunately, I was not able to ride for six weeks. Obviously, they cannot provide me with lost time. However, their attitude is very sad. If the bike company wasn't such a great company would they have reacted differently? Truly a bad experience.
While in their store off South Central & southern, I asked the cashier if they had a certain item, once getting the help, I proceeded to get the item when I hear the manager mimicking me in a sarcastic manner. And in returning to the register, the cashier says to him I think he heard you. (He acted like a bashful child after she mentioned this to him). It's a shame to have adult kids working in your stores, especially when times are tough for all businesses. I will never shop at your stores again and will share your stores treatment of people of color.
Every time I order from them there is nothing but problems shipping mishaps orders being backordered charging my card I will never order from them again better off paying a little more and getting what you want
Gas can broke apart and fell into John Deere riding mower's gas tank (12 hours on unit). Had to have tank removed to empty the debris. HF customer solutions lied about claim and only offered 1/2 reimbursement for the total repair bill. STAY AWAY!
Answer: I spent 24 minutes on the phone with them only to be told their product was perfect and problem was with my network. The person did not have a clue about what he was talking about.
Answer: I cannot see the particular part you are inquiring about, but could you make something to work? I am thinking you are referring to the notched piece that the handle locks into. Remember, you do not need to duplicate the piece, just make one that works. If you want to send me a picture I would have a better idea.
