Harbor Freight is well known for cheap tools and a good price. What you may not know is they have bad customer service when it comes to orders. I ordered shelves 3 months ago and still do not have them. What is extremely upsetting is trying to get help to track them down. I call weekly with no resolution. I'm told someone will call me and no one ever does. I'm told it was shipped however I never received them. Now I'm told they are trying to find out why shipping does not send them. The list of excuses goes on and on and on and on. I truly am amazed that this company can stay in business with all the lame excuses and poor customer service. I won't let up on my shelves but I will NEVER buy or do business with this company again. I'd rather pay more to get good service. The old saying, you get what you paid for applies.
Bottom line, If you order from Harbor Freight be sure to read all the reviews on their shipping and store itself.
Brand new predator auger did not work, I try bringing it back to brick, New Jersey, Harbor freight store, they wanted to charge me restocking fee(39.99). How can you charge a restocking fee when the product does not work and it's under warranty. That is the last time I'm buying some from Harbor freight. It's a freaking scam. Their warranty actually is horrible.
Bought a Pierce framing nail gun to add on a porch. Did not shoot half the time and would drop nails out of head occasionally. Return to store to get money back then was told there was a restocking fee. The gun was junk why swap for another junk one. Lost 35 bucks to restock and went to lowes for a good gun. I understand if I just wanted to return the gun but it was junk.
I purchased a paint sprayer about 2 months ago but came in late and it appeared to be used. It has been a month that I'm trying to return it but no success yet. They won't simply provide you with a receipt. Frustrating going back and forth with online customer services and the local store to get a return or even store credit
Bought a concrete mixer, ended up and did not need it, still new in the unopened box. I went in first and talked to a manager about returning it since it was over 90 days. He said they normally do not accept returns after 90 days, but since the box was unopened and I was a premium member he would let me return it for exchange of something else but could not give a cash refund. I waited about a week and went back with it to return it and now they said no returns after 90 days and the manager was wrong I could not return it. They lied to me and basically said they don't care if I come back or not. This was in Crystal River, Florida
Non Existent Customer Service!
I ordered online, have not received order. No-tracking number I was given is incorrect. When I check with the tracking it is "unavailable" and when I check the status of my order it is "irretrievable". No-one answers the 800 number and just try getting through with an email. I wonder how difficult it's going to be to get my $$ back…first and last time with this company.
I have 22 Chicago Brand (Harbor Freight's brand) drills, circular saw, reciprocating saw, flashlights. These are 18 volts. Harbor Freight stopped carrying the batteries and the chargers. I now have over $500 of tools that are or will soon be, worthless. Price is not everything.
The ITC membership does not give you the stated benefit of "No need to save coupons, the best deals are automatically applied for Inside Track Club members." So if there is a coupon offer you don't get it unless you have the coupon. So my membership is a one and done.
They are not honest and seem to be only out for your money. When you write to them regarding a missing item from your order, the completely ignore your comment or your request for a replacement or a reimbursement. They'll answer that your order was delivered and only that. Last time I ever do any kind of business with these people.
Repairman purchased a 100' roll of braided wire in Muskogee, OK. Unused, unopened item. First they had to have a phone number or receipt, which I supplied. Oh wait, it's been over 90 days. I explained I lived an hour away and didn't get to town there often and we had been really sick with health issues for a while. Too bad. Company policy. So, they just lost a lifelong customer, I'm 72, for a $10.00 item. Once I tell my brother what they pulled he probably won't go back either. Not too bright on their part.
First thing, the Monmouth junction, NJ store the employees always great you like an old friend. Had some confusion over a coupon and the manager Mikki went over and above to get it resolved. Everyone is s helpful, kind and nice. All other retail establishments should emulate them. Insider track purchase pays itself over after a few visits; would definitely recommend this.
It's now 8:15 there's 12 cars in the parking lot and no one to open the store. In a market that's as competitive as the hardware industry, there's one cardinal rule:You can't sell tools if you don't open the doors…so basic.
But like everything else that's wrong with this country, we're focused on wether we have the proper socio-political work force instead of competency. Let me xplain how that's working for you: 6 people have already left and I'm joining them! Lowe's here I come!
Miami store 163 ave!
This is my second order (# *******). I should have known better since my first order was screwed up and took forever with missing products. As of today, this one seems to be a duplicate of the problem I had before. I will update and share how this order turns out. Hopefully, I will receive this order before the Covid-19 virus strikes! I shop a lot online and I review every company/product to help others. I am starting a new youtube channel as well to brag, or shame companies who take advantage of us consumers. I'm 100% unbiased... all I expect is treat us right!
UPDATE... 4/12/2020
After calling Harbor Freight several days ago I finally received my order. They do have good prices, however, shipping SUCKS! I wish they'd contact me for a position in their warehouse... Something I'd love!
I desperately needed a rotary die grinder for cylinder head ports i purchased a die grinder complete with flex shaft 6 months ago for 24.95 now they want 30.00 for the sane grinder with no flex shaft but the cases still hsve the place the shaft is supposed to go! What the hell is wrong with these morons are they trying to loose all their business online cause that is exactly where im going until they smarten up abd im about 100% sure all the real customers whom buy regular items are heading there too
I visit and buy products at least 2-3 times a week and have noticed that the staff and sales personnel are so busy doing nothing that they can't assist you or greet you when entering. Just standing there talking to each other. If the manager allows this the I will be taking my business elsewhere. (Valencia & Midvale)
Waited 1 hour 10 minutes (during the last 30 of which, I was 'next in line') to only end up talking to no one. I couldn't waste another minute on hold. I would love to tell you that I had a wonderful experience with their product (would have been a 300 dollar sale), but alas, never could speak to anyone regarding help with the purchase. Probably all for the best. A company's customer service department is the real window into a company's business ethics.
We don't go to Harbor Freight for good tools, we go there for one-time tools.
Generally poor quality - but a good exchange policy that you'll need almost immediately. The only HF tools I've had consistently good results with have been the hydraulic parts like a porta-power or bottle jack and the engine hoist.
Electrical tools? Yikes! They often do not pass the 60-second smoke test.
Machine tools? An axe works better for cheaper. Welding and plasma cutting? Buyer beware!
The pneumatic fittings and quick couplings should be branded 'Max-Hiss' for the leakage.
Bottom line: Use it once, throw it away and you'll rarely be disappointed with HF products!
Every time i go to gaithersburg most the tools i need out of stock they dont stock anything even i come back next 2 weeks prices very expensive staff there so rude don like to help amazon better quality and cheap a lot
Off of the discount rack I purchased a paint spray gun and took it home by the time I got around to using it a month later it was completely in operable. When I went back, they said (oh, we have no way to test them….) they are actually in here selling garbage! Wtf now I know you sell value parts and as a mechanic, I'm well aware of the quality however, they at least work for a single usage to be selling products that are completely in operable is not acceptable. Whoever is managing the store in Anderson, Indiana patch your self on the back, you did it! Have made Harbor freight tools worse than terrible.
My husband is 77 yrs old can't hear very well. Bought a paint sprayer $274.00 was charged $50.00 to return unopened. Never will we step foot inside the Tullahoma TN store. You can go on line and they tell you 20% for returns. Most elderly people aren't computer savvy. We don't need store's that pray on the elderly. Never! Never! Will we shop at any of there stores.
Answer: I spent 24 minutes on the phone with them only to be told their product was perfect and problem was with my network. The person did not have a clue about what he was talking about.
Answer: I cannot see the particular part you are inquiring about, but could you make something to work? I am thinking you are referring to the notched piece that the handle locks into. Remember, you do not need to duplicate the piece, just make one that works. If you want to send me a picture I would have a better idea. I do have the smaller one which I think is similar. mountainsofwv@gmail, com Jim
