If I could give negative stars, I would. Hidden fees, costs $50 more per night than booking through the hotel, non-refundable, customer service is a joke. Do NOT recommend. I will NEVER book with this site again.
They make you think you are dealing with the hotel directly. They lure you in with good rates, then only AFTER you have put in your CC info and confirmed, when you get your email confirmation, you find out they charge you exhorbitant "fees & taxes" (in my case 50%).
When I called to inquire they refused to cancel my reservation.
I would rate them zero stars if I could. Stay as far away as you can!
I made an online reservation through Guest Reservations for a one night stay at a hotel. When the confirmation came back, it was for the wrong dates and for 2 nights instead of one. In addition, there was an extra $200 added on to the bill. I immediately called Guest Reservations. It was a 20 to 30 minute phone call of them telling me they can't change / correct the error and can't refund the money. I said I would dispute the charge. I was put on a lengthy hold. They came back and said they could refund part of the money. When I continued to request complete reimbursement, I was put on another lengthy hold and then told that if the hotel agreed to reverse charges I could get a refund. I immediately called the hotel who told me that they had already been contacted by Guest Reservations, and had just sent an email to GR saying that they would refund any money from that transaction. However, 10 days later, I only ended up getting a partial refund from GR with the balance of about $300 being kept by GR. I attempted to contact GR. My email bounced back and there was no live person option on their automated telephone menu. I have now taken the matter up through my bank and will dispute the charge.
Never ever use Guest Reservations. They are counting on people not to dispute fraudelent charges and hidden fees.
Hi Audrey,
We're sorry your Guest Reservations experience didn't meet your expectations. We take customer satisfaction seriously and want to help every traveler have a great experience.
We understand you were surprised by the additional fees. Like most hotels and other travel agencies, we charge applicable tax recovery charges and a service fee to cover 24/7 support, service and platform features, and operating costs. We always disclose all fees and tax recovery charges prior to booking and require customers to confirm the total amount.
We do our best to be transparent about policies and make sure they're clearly stated on our website so you know where you stand. However, we are happy to work with you on the issues you raised. Please email customercare@guestreservations.com with your reservation details including the email address you used along with your reservation number (beginning with “R”), and we will do our best to resolve your situation.
Sincerely,
Chantal Reynolds

They make it seem like your on the website of the hotel your trying to book with. But if you see guest reservations get off that page. They will charge you outrageous fees and refuse to cancel or modify the reservation. Use the hotel your looking for website they will be cheaper than guest reservations.com for sure and at least you have the option to cancel or modify your reservations with the hotels.
Don't recommend this service. Go directly to hotel website. Looking for a hotel in Santa Barbara, I used their site. The rates were fair and included a note saying "free cancellation before x date". I processed the payment after which I received a bill for double the published rate. It included a "tax recovery and services fee" that was higher than the room rates. I called to cancel and was informed the reservation was non-refundable even though I was calling a day before the deadmen for cancellations.

They use deceptive business practices and undisclosed fees when attempting to make a hotel reservation. Don't know how the owners are not in jail. Hotel told me the room rate was $126. Guest Reservations.com charged me $205, incl $50 in undisclosed fees.
The website was misleading. With the hotel name and logo on the top, you will get the impression that you are directly dealing with the hotel Guest Reservation Office. It's completely a rip-off. They published a very low hotel room price with free breakfast. But you will end up being charged with lots of other fees with no breakfast (Resort fee but it is not a resort, Service fees, etc.) Surprisingly you will be billed on USD currency. Not on the local currency of the country you are in. A complete deception. Tell others so they will not fall prey with this unscrupulous act.

Taxes and fees are not presented until AFTER the purchase has gotten through, and prices for taxes and fees displayed on Google are NOT the same as the ones you are charges. Major scam and shame on them for their non-existing customer services!
Attention Travelers!
UPDATE: Hampton by Hilton in Cartegna Colombia
We arrived yesterday after an extensive trip in Hampton by Hilton, Cartegna Colombia, excited to stay at Hampton by Hilton Cartegna. However, to our surprise, the hotel staff refused to check us in until we paid the tourist tax, despite it being against the National policy to exempt tourists from this tax!
Stay Informed: Don't fall into this trap! As tourists, we should be exempt from such charges. Let's make sure we're aware of our rights and stand up for fair treatment.
Explore other hotels that abide by the rules and respect tourists. Together, we can ensure a better travel experience for everyone! #TravelSmart #TouristTax #BeInformed

Paid $100 more booking through you for one night rather then going directly through hotel. I was also told that the pet fee was included in price and was charged extra on arrival. Not impressed and $#*! you.
This business impersonates hotel websites making you think you are reserving directly with the hotel. They add booking fees sometimes as much as $100. When you try to get points when checking in the hotels will not give you points because this company has I'm
Resonates the actual hotel site.

Rip off ur recovery fees and taxes r a complete over the top consumer taken advantage of rip off. Hilton should b ashamed of themselves. U just lost my business and I have been a very long time customer. Bill was $131. Fees were 54+. Total was $191.+. I thought I was getting a good deal till I saw total charges:
The worse experience I have ever had booking a hotel. Cost was $100 more that booking on the actual hotel website. Then they won't even let you cancel. They also charge my credit card twice. Spent hours canceling extra charges. Customer service people are nice but difficult to understand at times and keep repeating the same thing but offer no solutions.
Kathryn, we’re sorry you had that experience. Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we would like to help. To keep your information secure, please DM us your reservation # and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
Totally misleading. Deceptive from its core impersonating the hotel. "Add ons" are not revealed until after they have your card then as your jaw is dropping when you realize you've been scammed it processes. Don't know how they sleep. I'm a firm believer in what comes around goes around, so look out GR. BTW I picked a 1 star because I didn't see any negative stars.

Ridiculous, almost $50 in fees for a 1 night stay, on a $119/night room?
Called and tried to cancel reservation, no cancellations.
Agent wouldn't work with me at all. Will never use their company again.
Do not book through this company, they hide fees under the confirm reservation button. I'm going to end up paying about $200 more than I should. These people are worse than scum and should be ashamed of themselves. Shady business practicesj*
Guest Reservations stole $1750 from my credit card for a room that was $400 in the online add. When I clicked on tie room to find out more, my credit card was slammed $1750 within 2 seconds. I finally found the US number even though I am in Australia. I was informed that I could cancel and loose all of the money or keep the booking! Now I am stuck with a booking for 2 apartments that sleep 8!
My room was already paid for at the Red Lion in Ontario Oregon through the company. They still wanted my CC on file (incase of incidences). 3 weeks later someone tried to book another room under my credit card. Luckily the first charge was declined. But 17 minutes later my card was approved for a $3 purchase. When I called several times to find out why, the person on the phone did everything they could to get me off the phone and sent me to customer service. The phone just kept hanging up before I ever go to any customer service. I don't know who was working at that front desk, but reusing anyone's CC for someone else is THEFT!
Hi Stormy, Guest ReservationsTM is an independent third-party travel network offering reservations at over 100,000 hotels. We are not affiliated with this hotel. To speak to someone regarding this issue, please contact them directly. Thank you.
My experience is the same as so many others in this thread. I thought it was the hotel's website. Turns out it wasn't. Was charged a large service fee. It was 100% more than i was supposed to pay. I was horrified and nauseated when i realised this was a scam. Called them and cancelled my reservation. They sent an email promising me a refund of the full amount. I fear I may never see a single cent of that money. Only time will tell.
Ps anyone who's managed to get a refund successfully from this company, please DM me, thanks
Update: I got my refund 5 days later. I gotta give 'em that.
Do NOT use this "company". They are dreadful shysters and give misleading information, booked a one night stay through them and will never use them again. Room price of £56.61 was then increased by another £38.18 to cover Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees! Also all manner of excuses as to why we had been charged twice (spoke to the hotel who informed us that they had not been paid by Guest Reservations and were told by Guest Reservations to charge us). They even said that the hotel had no record of our paying them. Took the best part of 3 hours on the phone complaining to eventually get someone to agree to refund the basic price. Supposed to be paid directly to my account but will believe that when I see it.

Answer: They did the same to me. The reason is because they are stealing from you and hope you don't notice or don't care
Answer: I feel your pain. What's sad is that this company is an affiliate of Expedia
Answer: Literally the same. Hope you get reimbursed! Good luck!
Hi Albert, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
