It was not until I hit submit to make my hotel reservation a month ahead that I discovered any cancellation at any time resulted in no refund with this company. I tried to back out of this within 2 minutes of realizing I did not want this "independent" travel site to lock me in with no possible refund for cancellation, but they stubbornly refused, even saying it was the hotel's policy. No, the hotel policy is refund if cancelled up to 24 hours before check-in! I was hung up on one phone call, and now they won't answer the phone. My only hope is that our credit card company will rule in our favor when we dispute the charge. This is terrible customer service and courtesy. I can't recommend this reservation website because of their strict no refund policy and rude customer service.
Thought I was booking direct with hotel. My error. I booked a $120 room for 2 nights and this "service" added $134.96 in service and recovery fees (whatever that is). So be forewarned. They are going to rip you off. And you won't know it until the whole booking is processed and complete. I complained at the hotel and the assistant manager gave me her card and said to just call me next time.
Guest Reservations is a scam site. They tag their name at the end of the hotel so you think you are dealing directly with the hotel. Horrible practice. Then the added almost $75 to the original $112 room cost.
I know some of that is tax but they did not show a total price before the credit card and confirmation of the reservation was done. No way to cancel. You lose it all if you do. Stated in the email sent with the confirmation.
Online shows the name of the hotel I wanted with. Guest reservations. Thought I was going to that hotels site. WRONG. This is a company that charges outrageous fees on top of normal room rates. Fees are not disclosed at time until total went up with confirmation. No stars for guest reservation company!
Like other negative reviews, we believed we were on the hotel's website. The room prices seemed reasonable. But, in the end, there was a pop-up window asking us to confirm the price which included a ridiculously high fee of approximately 60%! Rather than confirming the the pop-up, we closed the window in order to go back and back out of the reservation. However, much to our surprise, that didn't matter! We immediately received an email indicating our reservation was booked! We then called customer service (within a couple minutes) and the person continually seemed to be reading a script about their no refund policy. We tried to explain that we DID NOT "confirm" the last window and were ignored. Total rip-off company!
This site will list one price and then pretend it's the total and then charge you 40-50% in service fees that they hide in light, barely visible text. They play Google and they're gonna play you. Don't book or use guest reservations. They are a scam. Do your research and don't book with them.
First I'd like to mention that I travel 4-5 months a year for fun and the remainder of the year for an work (airline). I have travelled to 118 countries in the past 30 years and never encountered such a booking scam.
Usually I use booking.com but I just wanted to research the chosen hotel on the web. This site popped up and offered a better price so I booked with them. However, the room rate for which I entered the payment details was not the final price! Only when the payment came through there was a price breakdown that siddenly included dubious $19 of tax on a room price of $32. During the process of booking this was not visible. Additionally, the free airport transfer listed on this website does not exist. So I paid $19 tax and $15 for a taxi —- altogether I would have paid less at booking.com and would have had a trustworthy booking pro ess.
I will use my social media presence to alert people to this scam and give my feedback on other travel websites.
Hi Nina, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
SHOULD BE ZERO STAR--Total Scam! This review link came up for "Guest Reservations" which is an alias for "Hotelvalues.com" website. This company charged me over $60 in extra "tax recovery charges and service fees" (over and above the actual room taxes I was charged at checkout) after I reserved my "no cancellation" room from them. For a room that was advertised--AND RESERVED-- at $169 dollars a night, I ended up paying over $270 per night which I must now protest with my bank. DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS with this company! Check out the numbers in the attached picture and see the difference for yourself--those extra charges in the "Confirmation e-mail" were NEVER spelled out in advance while booking the room on the site. Then I learned when checking in at the hotel that the actual reservation was made through Booking.com!

They are scammers - tell you the nightly rate as the full rate for 2 or 3 day stays, eg you think you are paying $300 then you receive your confirmation you have actually paid $650 - much higher than you thought you were paying - then they are impossible to contact either by phone or email to even query it let alone get a refund/correction. Hotel does get booking but wont help as not booked directly with them. All numbers disconnected, mail daemon errors for email addresses. DO NOT USE - much better booking sites available that are far more reliable.
This company acts like they are the hotel. Price was $30 cheaper than the booking sites. Called asked questions, he just said what I wanted to hear. Went to book and $149 room was $230. When I asked he said that is because of all the taxes. I said there must be an error and asked him to check. He kept making excuses. Thank goodness I cancelled and did not complete. Expedia was $201 total with all fees.
This website appears at the top of Google search results and includes pictures of the hotel you're interested in, so it's very easy to book through them thinking you're booking directly with a hotel. This happened to me last night and I was very upset to realize this morning that I was charged $77 in unnecessary fees (which were not made clear upon booking) and that my reservation is nonrefundable. Important reminder not to click the first link I'm served!

Booking process doesn't clearly display the fees that they charge for booking. I accidentally stumbled on their site and booked at a hotel I have stayed at my times. They charged 45% of the overall booking! They hung up on me when I called to contest the charges. Their call center is amateur hour and unhelpful in every way. It should be against the law to mislead and scam like this.
Guest Reservations purported to be hotel website - quoted me £198 but charged me £396 and gave booking.com reference to the hotel with a of £243. Nothing to do with booking. Com. Hotel will charge me £243 after my stay so I'll be paying £396 plus £243 in total after a quote of £198. Reported Guest Reservations to credit card fraud department. Also despite the quote saying free cancellations the small print says any cancellations after 6 Jan 2022 are non refundable!

This company is a fraud. They make it look like you're visiting the actual hotels website and offer a great rate. Once you enter in all of your billing information and hit confirm they add on an astronomical fee AFTERWARDS. When you call to ask why you were charged an extra $72 on a $187 room charge you get a very unfriendly customer service rep from another country who basically tells you oh well, you hit confirm and we don't issue refunds. Don't give this company your money and watch out when you're booking, they're sneaky and try to make it look like they're the hotel when using Google.
BOOKED A ROOM THROUGH THIS COMPANY THEY PRETEND THEY DO GOOD DEALS, AFTER BOOKING THE ROOM I FOUND OUT THE EXACT SAME ROOM IS A £100 CHEAPER ON ANOTHER SITE! DEFINITELY WILL NOT USE AGAIN, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE USING THESE GUYS

After looking at all of the fees I noticed after confirming that there was a fee of 2918. 00, after subtracting the actual taxes I would have paid that left an 1800. 00 fee for booking. I can not believe this site exists and has not been shut down. I am 6 months out and unable to cancel without a penalty of 2 nights ( 4K as they include their fee and put it into the deposit). They did offer a 10% discount that would be refunded AFTER I checked out. Leaving 1100. 00 for their booking fee. They would not refund prior to the stay, even though I have paid in full. I am still waiting on the confirmation Email on that. I realize this is on me as I pressed Confirm... so sad and such a complete waste of money. I only hope that I can help others from falling for this scam.

I accidentally tried to hook a hotel room through their website, thinking it was the official hotels site. Their site declined my payment, so I never got a reservation. They did take payment from my card for all attempted "failed" bookings. The contact phone numbers do not work. No contact email and no way to even submit a query without a reservation number. Have blocked the transactions on my card to stop this scam.

This site adds an extortionate fee right at the end just as you are about to pay. Avoid at all costs and book direct with the hotel instead. Their customer service is non existent and cannot even explain the 'fee'
This site is a total ripoff, they add exorbitant fees on top of the hotels price without disclosing them until after checkout. When you try to cancel they tell you it's non-refundable and they cannot give any money back.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor they said there was a two-hour wait, when I asked for a physical address they would not give it to me saying they are not online company, and could only provide an email address.
Stay Away

Do not use this site! I mistakenly booked for a week instead of one night and ended up not staying at all. I was charged over $1,000 when I didn't even check in. Customer service said there was "nothing they could do" because of the hotels cancelation policy, and that I should've booked directly with the hotel. I'll take that advice and never use this site again.

Answer: I feel your pain. What's sad is that this company is an affiliate of Expedia
Answer: Literally the same. Hope you get reimbursed! Good luck!
