If you are Canadian DO NOT book anything from this organization they advertise in Canadian funds and then they charge in US funds after the fact. I booked a hotel in Canada from Canada and paid double the price with fees and taxes then what I would have if I had booked directly. Groupon are bandits stay away from them this is my first and last time I will every use Ripon.
Wish i could give groupon a minus 5 star if the system would let me do so. This is my second horrible experience. Last year i bought 2 manicure package from them and only used one when i went to check the other one it was marked as used. Wrote groupon to complain and they told me that i have to take it up with the business. The business owner did refused to comply and i lost my money. I was so stupid to buy another deal from them when i tried to use the groupon the business owner is giving me the runaround. She cannot make appointments and that go in anytime. Took time off from work to get to the business and no one was there. I called and was told that the woman has to take care of her mother and cannot come that i have to wait 4 HOURS. I CALLED GROUPON WAS TOLD THE WAITING TIME IS 50-60 MIN. NEVER GOT THROUGH TO THEM. WENT ON THEIR WEBSITE AND FILED FOR A REFUND. I GOT NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. GROUPON IS AS SHADY AS THE BUSINESS THEY REPRESENT.
I had been using IDEELI since 2010. Over the past 6months the service has gotten to be terrible! I've had them send me the wrong items more the once and of course since it's a flash sale site they don't have what I ordered anymore. A 100$ worth of items I ordered never arrived. I've ended up with store credit since it used to be free shipping on returns if you opted for store credit but now you can't return things if the amount you paid is less than the shipping fees, which of course it is since I paid in store credit. So you're pretty much stuck unless you contact their terrible support team. I did. And the auto response said I'd receive a response in 24 hours. It was over a week of me emailing everyday since you only have a limited number of days in which to return (14 days technically, but by the time it arrives I typically have only 2-3 days, so don't plan to go anywhere ever). Finally did get the return label but only half of the items were processed in the return so I've spent another 3 days fighting with customer service over this. If I could just get the money back or spend down the store credit to zero I would NEVER do business with this company again.
I purchased a Groupon which turned out to be a scam. Impossible to talk with anyone in Customer Service and if you try email all you get is a automated response...never again
Groupon is a scam! I reported them to the BBB and their responses are the same BS over and over..."Groupon stated, "we have offered a solution which isn't satisfactory to your needs so we consider the matter closed." They didn't offer me anything but the same useless words you can find on their website. My complain to the BBB is listed below:
I have several Groupon vouchers, I didn't use and I want to trade them in for Groupon Bucks. This will allow me to use the money I paid on something else. Groupon's so called customer service is a joke, l've emailed, tried to call and get a recording with no option to talk to a live person. Groupon has marked several vouchers used which I never used and some say they were refunded which never happened. I feel they are keeping my money for services I didn't use or have expired. Groupon states you can redeem expired vouchers for what you paid to buy something else. They make it virtually impossible for me to get my money credited to my account. I am sure many people just give up trying, Groupon wins and scams you out of your money.
I was in touch with a customer service representative there named Josh. He was the most pretentious person I've ever dealt with. I told him that I had a $10 off coupon that I wanted to use, and he talked to me as if I was a child who made up the coupon. I specifically told him that it was for upgrading my app, and his words were 'only certain customers get that promotion during certain times'. Because I would want to call in, put on hold for 10 minutes, for a coupon I made up - he told me he had no record of that promotion and acted like I just made it up. Can anyone just get a job at Groupon? It sure seems like it. Josh obviously had no idea what I was talking about, even when I tried to explain to him that this was stated on my app, and I even told my boyfriend to upgrade so he could use the $10 off as well. It worked for my boyfriend, but not for me. Josh goes on to suggest that maybe my boyfriend had an invitation/email and I got the idea off my boyfriend which is why i'm calling in. I'M THE ONE WHO TOLD HIM ABOUT IT. It's really odd to me that Groupon runs promotions which their workers are clueless about. They should train their staff to be more knowledgeable and to not talk to customers of many years in such a belittling tone. Worst customer service experience I've ever dealt with. I've heard many complaints from my friends over the years about Groupon's customer service, i'm sad to say how correct they were. I will never deal with them or reps like Josh again. The least they could have done was offer me a discount for my time.
I purchased a refurbished iPhone 1/15/16 for $189. I received the phone a week later. I noticed the phone was $20 less after I took possession. I requested the difference refunded instead of having to return for a refund and repurchase at the lower price. I received canned responses. I responded back "use your brain and resolve the issue". I was offered their funny money on next purchase. I declined and reiterated my request. I then get a response referring to a 2 year old purchase. This is not rocket science! It's a simple request that can be handled in a couple of emails. They responded, again, with a canned email. After all the emails back and forth and filing a BBB complaint, I finally received the partial refund. I did receive a response from a manager. They were no better than the idiot overseas reps. I was given more funny money, but I had enough. I deleted my account. I'll do something more productive like hitting my head against a wall. The iPhone is fine. All's well that ends well.
I bought a "resort stay voucher" for $400. They would not redeem my voucher - what a scam - if you look at their "resorts" definitely not worth it even if they were honest.
SCAM! I booked a hotel break with groupon - when i rang the hotel it was going to end up costing me 70e more than what it said on groupon website! Buyer beware!
I don't really have a problem with this website. Easy to use - and now they allow you to use the groupon as soon as you buy it, no more waiting 24 hours.
I find some nice groupon discounts I like to use when my family visits and we go out to eat or do some sort of group activity. Saves us some good dough.
Worst online site EVER! Save your money and spend it anywhere else but here. Most of the women "styles" are hideous, trampy and last years, you can get better deals at your local stores from the clearance rack, plus you can try them on. They have such a short return policy that by the time your purchase actually arrives (weeks or longer) you've just about missed the return date. I have so much CRAP that I could not return it's really sad. I had a credit balance and I really think their computer system is not right. I would buy less than what my credit balance was but yet my credit balance would go to zero! Yes I did send an email, NO response. There have been a few times I never even received credit for something I returned. I would have to check on it and then email to find out what the problem was. I was always told, "Sorry, we had a kink in our system." Makes me wonder what if I didn't check and send the email, would they ever have credited me back? I have wasted so much money on not being able to return things that didn't fit correctly or I didn't like. You have something like 14 days from the day THEY SHIP from their warehouse, so you don't actually have 14 days from when you actually get the items. I really wish I would have read the reviews before I joined.
I used to love this site and always got my items in great time and they were always in perfect condition. However, I ordered some Christmas gifts near the end of October, got all but two things, which after 3 WEEKS of trying to find out what was going on, the status finally changed to "Canceled or Closed". So I tried again around Black Friday when they had another sale. Again, got everything else in the order (and even other orders after this) but two items that were similar to the original ones I wanted. I tried their live chat is is ABSOLUTE JOKE! They are only available for a literal minute each day. What the...?! So I tried to email. 3 times. No response even though they claim to respond within 24 hours. What a crock. After another 3 weeks, the item statuses change to shipment pending, whatever that means. Finally I got smart and purchased the items from a different site and lo and behold, yesterday I receive one of the items in "Shipment Pending". Now I'm wondering if i'm going to get the other item, but will never know because this dumb site doesn't say whether it has been shipped or not. I will NEVER buy from this site again! I advise everyone to do the same and pass over this site!
Ideeli made a big mistake selling to groupon. I would buy a piece from them almost every day. Now I can't even stand going on the ideal Groupon site. What a waste
I have ordered, reluctantly, from this company and believe it if not, I received all that I purchased in a timely manner. All items were just as advertised. I was very pleased!
I made a hotel reservation with groupon for one night on the morning of. The transaction was decline due to my credit card fraud alert. I corrected the problem with the CC company right away and went to chat with groupon CS to get it fix since the reservation is for the same night. I asked the CS to reprocess my pending order, s/he told me instead to made a new reservation and s/he will remove the pending order. So I did just that. Few hours later, the "pending" order also went through. Now I have 2 charges. I immediately contact groupon CS again and once again, I was assured that they will fix the problem. The day after my stay at the hotel, the charges are still there. I contacted groupon CS again. This time they basically said too bad so sad, even though I showed them the chat record with their own CS. They still refused to give me my refund. They refused to own up to their mistake and misguided me when I needed them. I guess the only good thing about them is they sent you the chat record. I have enough evidences so I will open dispute with my CC company. Groupon used to be great start up company, but not they are just the same with all the corporations. Money and Greed.
I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM GROUPON AGAIN! They scammed me out of products. I did not receive all of my order. And they gave me a $10 off coupon and when I used it, it said it was applied; however, they charged me the full amount. I've emailed them and called. I cannot get any help. Absolutely ridiculous.
Seriously Groupon, what terrible customer service. Our hotel is closed due to the pandemic and you will not refund my credit card? I don't want your Groupon Bucks, I want a refund!
If you all think this is a scam, you're clearly not understanding the business model. Advertising is expensive, period. The problem with traditional media is that it costs money, alot of money, up front to put a message out there that is generally difficult to track.
Groupon is opt-in direct response marketing and to beat that it's local. Yes it costs money for a business to run a Groupon, but it guarantees traffic through your door, which is a rarity in the marketing world these days. Businesses bank on the fact that out of those 1,500 people that show up, that a few will become regulars. Go ahead and calculate how much a regular customer is worth to your favorite beer hall over the course of a year. Get it now? No cash spent, regulars gained, product given away to people who prepaid their reservation at your business.
On top of this, there's the local element. You're only going to purchase a Groupon if you know you're going to use it. You're only going to use it if the place is within a reasonable distance. In turn, you're more apt to become a regular at said restaurant, etc. because of your proximity to it.
Genius... wish I would have thought of it. Put the power in the consumer's hands like this and you're bound to get a few growing pains. This model is here to stay. It's changed local marketing strategies for the long haul.
I have been using ideeli for several years now. It the beginning I was pleased. However, the past several orders have been poor experiences so I am not sure what has changed there. The short window for returning an item is not reasonable. I travel for my job and as a result, have missed the ridiculously short time frame for returns. Recently, I bought a set of a luggage that was a killer deal based on the make. Or so I thought. I used the carry on ONE time I did not check it. The wheels broke, the handle unraveled and the piping unraveled. The online chat rep told me that I had to work with the luggage manufacturer to get a replacement set. Uh no thanks, it was junk, I just wanted to return it and get a credit. No, they say. I gave a second piece of luggage from the set a try during a second trip. Hoping it was a fluke. The driver picked the bag up to place it in the trunk and the handle completely broke. At that point it was laughable how bad the product they sold was. Even if I wanted to really shop with them now, I can't as the site is not loading and that's been the case for three days. Glad I am paying a membership fee for poor service and a site that I cant access.
Hi Mary,
Thank you for giving us your feedback here on SiteJabber. I'm really sorry to hear that a luggage set you purchased was defective. It may have been that this particular set had an issue and that the manufacturer would be able to replace or repair this item. I'm happy to check into this for you and see if we are able to allow for a return and refund. Please send me a private message with your order number and the incident number from your contact with customer service.
The reason our return window is within 21 days of shipping is due to the nature of our site being flash sales. Since we don't keep inventory, we need to have the items come back to us quickly so that if they are in good condition they can be offered to a member on the wait list. Our previous return deadline used to be 14 days after the order was shipped, but we've increased it to 21 days to help accommodate members who may travel a lot or are unable to initiate the return in such a short window. You can view our full return policy here: https://support.ideeli.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/72/related/1
We recently had a technical issue with our site which may be why you cannot access it at this time. Try deleting the cookies in your browser and if you do not already use Firefox or Google Chrome, we recommend using one of those as your browser. Hopefully by doing one or both of these things you will again be able to access our site.
Please send me a private message about your luggage and any other feedback you may wish to share and I'll be more than happy to look into this and help resolve it.

Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
Hi CW,
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments on SiteJabber. I sincerely appreciate your feedback.
I am so sorry for the trouble you experienced with your returns. Please know that while we do have a 14 Day Return Policy, we understand that members may receive their packages with very little time to try on the item and make the return, and we will gladly accept returns within 14 days of when the order has been received.
And I'm terribly sorry that you did not receive a response regarding your credit balance. I would be happy to assist you. Please send me a message with your member ID, and I will gladly look into this for you. Additionally, if you have any outstanding returns, I'd be happy to check the status for you. Please rest assured that it is not our intent to not credit members for their returns.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and I will be on the lookout for a message from you.
