After attempting to pick up grocery orders made on line, and having terrible overall experience with that I tried the Walmart+ service. That was even a bigger mistake.
Why? You are trusting your order to a non walmart employee that is a third party go for.
A gig worker with no vetting and you have no idea what to expect.
And believe you me you will not be pleased.
After I guess maybe 5 orders to my home most of them had issues.
Todays was the worst. OF the 18 items ordered the driver arrives with a box of saltines and two green peppers. Oh and four trays of bottled water I didn't order. The rest of the shopped order he had "no idea " where they were or what happened. So 60 bucks down the drain.
To add insult to injury, the driver told Walmart he returned the order to the store. But of course that can't occur as my order is clearly somewhere else. After hours online chat with the bots that now stand in for humans' customer service, I was told that as soon as the order is showing returned to the store, it can be cancelled and I will get my refund.
Right.
IT's been over 15 hours and the status has not changed.
I sent a long detailed complaint of this matter to Walmart Corporate, their CEO and in the past I have gotten resolution.
I would go somewhere else for groceries, but Walmart is the least expensive and I have already paid for the Walmart+.
I have a video of the delivery on my RIng storage and it documents all I am saying.
I don't know how a fully shopped order could leave the store and, in the hands of a third party, be morphed into bottled water and saltines. Do you?
Doordash or some other third party does. The problem with that is no third party driver may be available or interested in your order because of where you live or some other prejudice. For instance if the drivers sees its an order paid for by food stamps he may decline as he wants a tip and he thinks that order won't realize a tip.
That's just one big warning sign. The other is their lack of honesty about why they miss a delivery and when they call back to reschedule. They can and do forget, you could be waiting days for your food or your money.
Update with the help of corporate the items were finally delivered yesterday with errors, omissions but delivered. Today a credit adjustment was made to my account.
It's been a stressful experience and honestly, without corporate's intervention I don't think it would have been resolved.
I live in a building for Senior citizens. Some can't drive so they order online. WHY THE HELL CAN'T YOUR DELIVERY PEOPLE GET GROCERIES TO OUR DOORS! The stuff gets dumped in the mailroom for anybody to steal and frozen\refrigerated goods go bad. When I call corporate to complain, I can't get through to anyone. I will never order from you again and will avoid shopping in person there also. Since your customer service department doesn't answer the phone, I will post this on every social media outlet I can think of.

Are these substitutions to reduce inventory or to up-scale profits.
I just read about photos. I these were my big ticket items and I refuse to pay a delivery charge so I cancelled my online order. I'll try pick up but not tonight.
IN HOME deliveries are frequently late. Had to raise cane the last time to get them to dig up someone to deliver it. Same thing today except all they advised was to cancel the order. So on top of paying for a Walmart+ membership, I'm paying for an In Home membership that doesn't deliver same day & may or may not be here in the 4 hour window which they provide. Trying to figure out whether or not to sit tight for an hour or so until they get here or cancel altogether is tough because the system notifications are slim, the app doesn't provide anything additional, & getting to speak to a real person - in a foreign country - happens only after appeasing the automated system. The customer service rep couldn't even get the store on the phone. Really, Walmart? If customer service were a concern Walmart would contract with Doordash or some other delivery service to fill in when their system fails & deliver these orders at no cost to the customer. To be fair, they did give me a discount towards my next order, but that doesn't feed my family tonight.
I ordered online normally I'm only missing 1 to 3 items so of course I'm going to get my money back for the iteams not received well last week I placed a 310$ order going threw my bags I had all meats, yogurts, ext missing from my order over 180$ missing and walmart said because I have refunded before they couldn't do anything. When I told them I did not want a refund but for them to call the driver to bring my missing bags they refused and were very ignorant I will never shop at Walmart again.
I always ask that my delivery be brought to my door and it is usually ignored. Attempts to contact customer service usually result in 10 min hold then getting disconnected! Very POOR service!
I placed an order on Sunday/07/2021 and was supposed to receive the merchandise on Tuesday, 03/09/21. The website still reads, updating. First and last time.
Driver left Groceries in the garbage bin by the door instead of on the door step. There were fresh veggies in the bag. This is clearly not sanitary and frankly quite disgusting.
I like ordering my groceries from Walmart. The employees at my local Walmart are good. The problem I have is with the people that charge for the service. I am suppose to pay monthly $12.95 per month for the delivery service. We have been charged in March 1st, 24th and 31st. In April the 23rd and the 30th. I have called 3 times and was told each time that these charges would be refunded but, they still have not been refunded. I am told that this is separate from Walmart but, I am shopping at Walmart and to me Walmart is responsible for this problem.
Outsourcing your delivery to another company who already has some shady business tactics ripe with theft is, of course, gonna net the same behavior for any businesses that it patterns with. Surprise! Several of my non grocery items have been stolen, including a $400 Oculus VR headset. Also slightly delivery related, but why the hell should I have to pay an order minimum for w+ to PICK UP MY OWN ITEMS? Why would I pay WALMART to pick up my own $#*!? I cancelled it.
Long story to short they never delivered my food so I contacted them they told me my food has been contaminated during delivery and it would be highly unsafe for them to deliver it
Delivery made to the wrong address, no accountability and it defeats the purpose of ordering online, if now I've got to go into the store and wait on my refund, in order to make a purchase!
You know what they say: insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Yep, that's what I have done with Walmart. When their delivery service first started I thought Yayyy! I am a senior and it is difficult to go grocery shopping and even more difficult getting the groceries into my house. I thought Walmart would be the answer. The first 2-3 times (when they first began offering this service) it was great. So I joined Walmart+. BAD DECISION. After joining, sometimes my orders were 2-4 hrs late and one was never delivered at all -- the cancelled the whole order after I waited for hours because they didn't have anyone lined up to deliver it! So, service was offered and bought but not delivered. Still, here I am ordering again. I just got the email: ORDER DELAYED. This is received after the order was to already be at my door. They choice they give me: continue waiting, cancel, or return the items after I receive them. I am fuming. That was not a choice, but I imagine it is a popular response.
At 1st I thought it was a brilliant idea to have Walmart deliver my groceries especially since I had surgery and couldn't get around, but items were missing more and more frequently and the problem came in with the complaints about missing food. Over time they decided to cancel my future orders and I still haven't received my refunds even though I have email confirmations stating that they would for food I have never received because they canceled it. How am I going to be blamed for food your store is not sending? What would Walmart prefer just robbing people blind. Now I don't now if the store or the drivers are to blame but I know that I am not to blame and I will not allow them to keep money for items I I don't receive. Eventually whoever is in charge will see how much this service sucks. And if ever there is a class action law suit filed I will be amongst the 1st crew to sue. Walmart punishes its customers for its poor customer service.No refunds only promises of refund after you cancel my order for a refund violation due to your store not bringing me my food I paid for. Upsetting!
I don't even have a Walmart account, not do I EVER ship there. But 4 times a month I am bothered by their d livery people putting my neighbors groceries on my porch and knocking. I am a disabled person and I have to climb stairs to get to the door and every single time I have the delivery person look at it he order and it CLEARLY states BACK DOOR I have repeatedly called as gas my neighbor to get this resolved and it is ignored. I guess the next step will be an attorney and some medical bills to be paid by Walmart. They have caused me to have excessive pain and I just st can't deal with it anymore because they do nothing about the issue.
I am still in the trial period of the Walmart $98 a year delivery and I will be cancelling. Not worth the aggravation of having to call every week to straighten out their mess. I place an order to be delivered on Thursday and on Tuesday their bringing a couple items... Wednesday a couple more... it's crazy! I feel bad because I cannot tip every person that brings an item or two, nor am I always home which is why I schedule it. Not sure why this keeps happening and neither is Walmart nor do they care. I've spoken to so many people and all I get is "we're sorry". My biggest issue is I was going to use it when I go on vacation but I'm afraid they will start sending stuff when I'm not even there yet. Also scheduled a delivery and somehow they had it down as pickup. My disabled husband had to go pick it up because I wasn't home... this all after I called and told them it was not a pickup, but a delivery. I thought this was going to be great but it's been a nightmare, to say the least! Don't waste your money!
The nearest walmart supercenter closest to me is about 13 miles away, I checked to see if they deliver to my home, which they do... so after making my selection, when i go to my cart, i see "PICK UP ONLY", so I change delivery option to "DELIVERY" and guess what... every single perishable items (meats, veggies, fruits) are "OUT OF STOCK", the only deliverable items are the non-perishable items, which can shipped without subscribing to Walmart+... what a wasted effort.
Interesting there's no ZERO STAR BC THEY DO NOT DESERVE EVEN A 1 STAR! Fkn incompetence at its finest! Both times I tried their delivery service, it was a nightmare. From no delivery to hours spent on hold trying to get a refund. Un$#*!ingbelievable!
Walmart now requires a drivers license for delivery service. These delivery drivers are contractors and no background checks are done. This puts my identity at risk.
