After attempting to pick up grocery orders made on line, and having terrible overall experience with that I tried the Walmart+ service. That was even a bigger mistake.
Why? You are trusting your order to a non walmart employee that is a third party go for.
A gig worker with no vetting and you have no idea what to expect.
And believe you me you will not be pleased.
After I guess maybe 5 orders to my home most of them had issues.
Todays was the worst. OF the 18 items ordered the driver arrives with a box of saltines and two green peppers. Oh and four trays of bottled water I didn't order. The rest of the shopped order he had "no idea " where they were or what happened. So 60 bucks down the drain.
To add insult to injury, the driver told Walmart he returned the order to the store. But of course that can't occur as my order is clearly somewhere else. After hours online chat with the bots that now stand in for humans' customer service, I was told that as soon as the order is showing returned to the store, it can be cancelled and I will get my refund.
Right.
IT's been over 15 hours and the status has not changed.
I sent a long detailed complaint of this matter to Walmart Corporate, their CEO and in the past I have gotten resolution.
I would go somewhere else for groceries, but Walmart is the least expensive and I have already paid for the Walmart+.
I have a video of the delivery on my RIng storage and it documents all I am saying.
I don't know how a fully shopped order could leave the store and, in the hands of a third party, be morphed into bottled water and saltines. Do you?

Tip for consumers:
Avoid Walmart like the plague.

Walmart does not deliver, but tries to correct its errors

Doordash or some other third party does. The problem with that is no third party driver may be available or interested in your order because of where you live or some other prejudice. For instance if the drivers sees its an order paid for by food stamps he may decline as he wants a tip and he thinks that order won't realize a tip.
That's just one big warning sign. The other is their lack of honesty about why they miss a delivery and when they call back to reschedule. They can and do forget, you could be waiting days for your food or your money.
Update with the help of corporate the items were finally delivered yesterday with errors, omissions but delivered. Today a credit adjustment was made to my account.
It's been a stressful experience and honestly, without corporate's intervention I don't think it would have been resolved.

Tip for consumers:
IT's a throw of the dice currently what kind of experience one will have at the Arbutus Walmart. I really don't know how it can be corrected. But as a former manager it striked me as being low morale for most of the employees. I wouldn't want their jobs but If I had to work there, if that was all I could aspire to , I think I would try to excel. But that's just me.

In all my dealings with these people, on line and over the phone, they stock what they sell first hand... they are not a portal in the sense of Hayneedle.com... they have been in business in NY, NY for 30 years and have competitive prices and excellent service. They are experts in what they offer, so if you get something that is out of alignment they can and will verify that. They are not scared to agree with you because they simply charge back the item to the company they ordered from.

You are held harmless. Its peace of mind with B&H.

Its been 2 weeks since I ordered a pair of Celestron binoculars from this site and had to return them the min they arrived, they were useless... instead of sending me another pair immediately they forced me to return them - they received them via FedEx 2 days ago and I am still waiting to hear their confirmation that the item was received - I can't imagine what more of a run around I can expect to get all my money back - it doesn't look good - DONT BUY OFF THIS SITE - they have no intention of making you happy - if they did they would pay attention and not send out defective items- period...

If they make good by refunding All my money - BECAUSE THEY SENT JUNK, THEIR JUNK but on MY TIME AND MY MONEY. I will update this thread.

Wake up and smell the coffee - a return is a return and a refund is a refund - getting one doesn't mean you will get the other - its all a big scam.

Back in the day companies stood behind what they sold, now what they sell is not 'theirs' and you are at risk for ordering it - by their logic they could send you a picture of the merchandise and call it good. You say that's silly - is it? - why not send a picture of what you ordered when what they do send you doesn't work, can't work and they know it when then send it because its not new its a returned item from some other sucker... Now they have the item my money and I nothing but aggravation.

That's the state of on-line commerce today... I hope its not the norm because its becoming more frequent - remember there is no regulation of these sites. If they are not honest we are all up the creek.

Read how Crate and Barrel handles their returns - they send you a new item before you return the old one - further, sometimes they let you keep the first item - at your discretion. Do you pay out the ** at C&B? Yes you do but at least you are saved endless hassle and aggravation.

** This concludes the 'review/rant' about Hayneedle.com. The writer was put in this state as a direct result of Hayneedle.com and reserves the right to pursue all legal recourse against Hayneedle.com for direct and consequential damages.

Please note that to file suit against a dot com in your state, not the agent based state of the dot com - you must first prove that the contract of sale was at a terminus in your state of residence and then if you convince the small claims court of that step you must domesticate the action in the dot com's state of registration. Thanks you for your time.**

They shouldn't be encouraging you to sign up for Walmart + to get the benefit of free same-day...
