We recently switched to QB online. Apparently, in all the terms, there is something about accepting Green Dot as the default bank account for funds to be deposited. I can't actually confirm this because I don't know where to find this permission. Further, it appears from the bank screen of our QB that it is in fact a QB account, not an outside entity (see screenshot). In any case, after nearly an hour on the phone with a QB rep last night, we were able to redirect our future deposits to our actual business bank account. Green Dot already took significant processing fees from our deposit and now we have to try to figure out how to withdraw our remaining funds and have them deposited to our business bank account. QB is unable to assist as Green Dot is an outside bank. At first glance, the debit card appears to be issued from QB and I (wrongly) assumed that it was just a QB Intuit perk but had no expectation that I would utilize it. We all get a ton of credit offers that end up in the garbage or bottom drawer somewhere. Well, if you ZOOM in on the fine light grey line on the back, and use a magnifier, you can see that this is ACTUALLY a Green Dot card in Intuit clothes. I would push for fraudulent misrepresentation but what's the point? If anyone does end up launching a class action against them, please feel free to contact me - business name is printed on card, just Google us.
Loaded 200 dollars plus 4.95 for transaction fee. 3 months later I am asking customer service where is my Check I was told would be in the mail 2 weeks ago that was three months ago. I am told several different reasons or solutions -like go back to the 7-11 to get your refund or my favorite I just am hung up on! I'm irate with the customer service! I don't see how it is that this company still exists! Look at all the negative reviews! Let's start a class action lawsuit against greent dot because the dots of our green is definitely filling their pockets! This is a FEDERAL CRIME! Shame on you green dot. I had a problem because a child putting the wrong information on the internet for the card when I try to get my money back I was ran around in every direction you can imagine I finally got $35 back out of 50 which they were stating that it was used but how could it have been used when it wasn't available RIP OFF do not use this bank at all
I give Green Dot zero stars. The past four days I have been trying to use my card and every time it say DECLINE. I know for a fact it is funds on my card and I am stressed about it. I am unable to pay bills and can't take care of other important things either due to this issue. I have emailed NO RESPONSE, I have called and on hold for a long time then no one comes to the phone. Don't use Green Dot if you can help it, praying to get what funds I have and then I am leaving them. NO GOOD FOR BUSINESS
According to the GreenDot policy they say if you return the card and close it you can get the monthly fee back. I read that to the customer service representative and she must have been very uneducated especially not even from the United States. I READ THE LITERAL CARDHOLDER AGREEMENT and she was like "oh I need to make sure this is true" would come back and tell me its not true when it was right in front of my face. Do not go with this company or give them your business. CLEARLY THEY DONT RESPECT THE CARDHOLDER AGREEMENT.
I loaded $20 into a card, $8 were taken for the monthly maintenance fee, ok fair enough, I go to use my card that the website said I had $12 on, it wouldn't work, so I call customer service to ask why it's not working and the phone line tells me my card is NEGATIVE $6, didn't even know these card could go negative, not a true prepaid card, they are currently destroying my credit and racking up tons of money that i supposedly owe them.

This is not a bank. It truly has been one of the worst experiences in my life. Customer Service always sounds like I have reached Somalia. The agents have not a clue what they are talking about and to speak to a supervisor well you are more likely to be struck by lightning. As an ex-banker I am actually offended they are allowed to define themselves as a bank. Here's a short example. 6/1, I have funds wired to the account. After all, they do in fact have my account and routing number right on the website. But on 6/2, there is no money. So I call them. I am told they hold incoming wires for 72 hours. So Green Dot has taken the fastest way to send money and blew it up. I can only summize because they like to have 3 free days to earn interest on my cash. But it gets better. As of today, there is still not a single dollar in the account.
So I call back Somalia Customer Service and today the tell they don't accept wires transfers at all. This is a US supervised bank, I am going to roll out a can of whoop as on them. They are by far the biggest embarrassment and joke and should be closed down.
I bought it wrong and I coulnd return it. So I decided to use the card, They charge every month for a fee of $9.99. I wanted to close the card online but it did not work, I tried to called and its more than 3hrs that I am on hold.
NEVER NEVER EVER buy this card.

The charges for using atm's everywhere are through the roof... also the monthly membership fees are steep, other than that i enjoy getting paid two days early and the card makes things convenient

I was given a Green Dot Debit card as a thank you gift. When I attempted to register the card, in order to do so I was asked to provide a lot of person information, including my SSAN and other personal info as well as agree to allow this information be shared for marketing purposes; agree to receive marketing phone calls & emails; and agree to pay a monthly $7.95 fee unless I loaded $1000. 00 or more during the previous month. When I and the individual who gifted me this card attempted to speak with a live customer service representative on their phone system... are you kidding me, it hung up on us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD AND GREEN DOT PERIOD. THIS IS A BULL$#*! MONEY MAKER OR THEM AND A REAL LOSER FOR THE CONSUMER... BUYER BEWARE
The worst banking ever. It's been over a year that they have had 5400$ of my money in dispute. These guys are a complete waste of time and they will try to rob you with the quickness. My wallet was stolen out of my car when I was swimming at the river and I called and reported it but they didn't shut the card off well when I filed taxes I didn't pay attention and change the direct deposit and all my taxes and stimulus money was sent to it cause it was the last known direct deposit H&R block had on file. Well a long story longer and the person who had stolen my card was using it for over a yr while I kept fighting with the IRS and H&R block about my money I finally tracked it down to these no good scoundrels. I'm being punished for them not shutting the card off and it's been forever and they still can't do the most simplest task to look on the cameras of the place the card was used and see that I didn't use it and give me my $#*!ing money back. Plz whatever you do do not use these ppl as a bank not only will you be calling in you will be lucky to have someone not hang up on you cause they can't figure out what your asking. Oh maybe it's cause not one person I've spoke to can speak English maybe that's the reason. Do yourself a favor put your money in a sock or find a better bank then this one these guys get zero stars from me. They are worthless and not good people.
NEVER AND I MEAN EVER SIGN UP WITH GREENDOT. My account had been compromised and OVER $200 was stolen from my account. After reporting fraudulent activity they told me it would take 10 days for it to be credited back to me which I still have not received! I have been hung up on, lied to, and was told that there are currently NO MANAGERS OR SUPERVISORS to speak with. All of the agents in customer service are foreigners and have absolutely no idea what they are doing and just going off a script. I would advise ANYONE to reach a "specialist" and see for yourself! There are plenty of other well established banks out there but green dot is NOT one of them and they will be going out of business soon.
I had $500 stolen out of my account and my dispute was denied. I've never spoken with anyone who speaks clear English. I was on hold forever. I honestly think it was an inside job! USE A REAL BANK!
I've been using this card for at least 5yrs. The fees are to high for the service that you can't get anymore! Years ago the service was good any time I had a problem I'd just call them and they'd take care of it while I was on the phone. BUT NO MORE SERVICE ANYMORE!
Basically worthless, can not use for anything, plus they charge you 5.00 to add on money to card. By time you are done paying fees and other charges your not able to get your purchase. Illegal
Currently I'm having the worse customer service ever! I lost my card an long story short no information/ documentation is enough for a replacement I have been trying almost a month now they have over 2k of my tax refund money an I can't get it, Im pissed off an suffering for nothing an im disappointed in TurboTax for choosing such an illiterate company to handle larger amounts of money, my experience with Greendot has been atrocious an disappointing an the worse part is the fake empathy the company is showing! I have so much more I could say but My point is they absolutely SUCK!
I was happy with the card itself. For a prepaid card it works places most prepaid cards do not. All was well until I needed customer support. My card expired in January. I have called 10 times. Completed every form, request and address change. Still have not received a new card. I have been hung up on when my question did not fit into their phone script they read from. I have been told twice it has been sent out and it would take 7 business days. Each call in required 3 transfers and each one required verifying same security info. Today called again and refused to talk to anyone but a Supervisor. The Supervisor informed me that the card wasnt sent out and the request not entered. She apologized and "Expedited " a new card that I still have to wait for another 3 days. I felt the apology was insincere and they nothing was addressed about their agents lying to customers. I addressed it however... stati g it was unacceptable to tell me you will issue a card and not even request it. Not once but twice! I asked her if she could see my previous calls. I was told yes but got the feeling my experience will NOT be used as a training tool and those employees will continue to aggravate and waste customers valuable time. In a nutshell... great card for a few uses but if u need any support you are SOL.
These people are so dishonest. I don't understand how they are in business. I'm calling everyone in my state to find out how to get them investigating this company. Watch your money closer then ever. Someone in that company is taking money out of my account for purchases I made a week prior but paid for the week before. I watched them take the money out of my account for an Amazon order they took the money out of my account and I even got confirmation from Amazon saying they got the payment. But then 5 days later after I already received my order I just happened to be looking at my transactions and seen them take the same amount out again after I already got my order. The transaction from the first amount didn't even show up on my account but I have all the proof that they took it out. I will not stop until the federal banking authority looks into this bank. I can't get any help because no one speaks English but they have things designed like that for a reason. They leave you exhausted from the frustration of trying to get your money.
