A great download... IF you have trouble with your spelling. I was writing something and I really wanted to test it out. So I typed a sentence that did not have correct grammar. Grammarly did not detect it... Very disappointing... But, the spelling corrections are on point!
I am using the free app as a grammar checker. It is all I need right now and I am happy to find it. There have been no negative events for me to comment on, but then I am a glass half full person. Thanks you Grammarly.
Grammarly helps me a lot, especially in business emails and texts, as English is my second language. I especially like the "tone" detection as that I feel is a very important part of any communication and can be perceived wrong on email and text.

I tried to cancel the subscription before the trial ends but i couldn't find the cancellation link anywhere. Then my card got charged $139.95. I didn't know what to do so i contacted my tech savvy friend and he came across this post from grammarly (picture attached). Somehow he managed to cancel the subscription the same day the charge was posted. I initiated a dispute with the credit card company but grammarly wouldn't refund my money. What an easy trick to steal hard earned money. Specially since this is a service mostly used by students, who easily become prey. If this is not fraud i don't know what is.
Giving it the lowest possible rating entirely down to the fact that it's constant bombarding advertising is giving me a mental health issue. If i hear "you've got to get grammarly" a few more times i may lose it.

Grammarly is great! In the past years, many of my friends have recommended I download it, but I never did. I finally did this year after doing so much of my work online due to virtual learning. I just don't know why I didn't do it before.
This software runs in the background and lets you know if you violated a "rule" of spelling or grammar. It fixes (really corrects, not like an iPhone which occasionally makes a change that you did not want) and lets you know that a change of spelling was made. It underlines a phrase that could be improved and offers suggestions that you have to accept (instead of correct).
I'm not fond of the built-in need for commas in a sequence of three items or more. The hyphenation rules are useful, however.

When I was a child I used to love to write stories but as an adult just lost interest. Now with internet access and Grammarly I can turn back the clock. I am really enjoying reconnecting with old friends we email each other nearly every day now. And I get a real chuckle out of the tone detector (my little best friend).
I was doubtful, but signed up anyway. So happy. Grammarly works seamlessly, without stopping my flow. I love how it helps me edit as I write or after, when I want to edit. I also love the feedback emails that feel like I have a private coach cheering me on. Love it! Recommend it highly.
I opened an account with Grammarly a couple of years ago but found it didn't really suit my somewhat specialised purposes (though I think it's good for most users) and I stopped using it. My subscription renewed automatically last week so I contacted them to say I hadn't intended it to renew and hadn't been using the service for a long time. They had no legal obligation to refund my subscription as the automatic renewal is made clear in their T&Cs but they immediately refunded the money to my paypal account. So overall I was very impressed by their customer service and integrity.
.Using the app is a great help for communicating in English, as I am not very proficient in the language. Communicating through Grammarly boosts my confidence and my messages abroad are longer, better and with more vocabulary.
When I have to write an article ASAP, I usually check it through free Grammarly version. Sometimes, it helps with prepositions and missed punctuation or automatically misspelled vocabulary, but it annoys me how it tries to "guess the right words" and it simplifies and distorts what I want to say because I like using slightly unusual vocabulary, especially when writing something creative (but I rarely use archaic words or anachronisms, so it should have known the linguistic meanings I employ). I think Grammarly should be able to discern more idioms and phrasal verbs, and any literary devices. What is funny, it doesn't identify its own name, underlining it in red when I write about it, lol. I must also confess, having read all the negative comments about the Premium version, I'll keep on using only the free one. Sorry, Grammarly, you can be helpful, but you're not so cool as your advertisers say.
Grammarly is waste of money and does not correct easy grammar errors. Examples to and too, then and than and forget about trying to use a semi colon. I can't believe anybody could give Grammarly 5 stars,
After being out of a school setting for decades and picked up a lot of bad habits, I needed writing help. Grammarly has done that for me. As a financially challenged student, I only got the free version. I have become so confident in this program I have included Grammerly into my monthly payments today.
I would describe myself as very literate and reasonably careful constructing and reviewing emails. Grammarly has been very helpful in sentence and spelling construction and since most of my communication is professional, it's been an excellent tool!
Grammarly is accurate and easy to use - I love the simplicity of hover and click, rather than click-right-click-choose-from-drop-downlist-click-again with other spell checkers. Just makes things so much faster, especially for those of us who don't have great typing skills. I've used Grammarly for a while on my personal computer. There is so much bad grammar and spelling on the internet, but if more people used this, it would save a lot of eye-rolling and teeth-gnashing amongst grammar and spelling perfectionists!
I have been a freelance writer for many years. Some of the suggestions were very helpful and I am grateful for them. Here's the thing. Many of the suggestions were simply inaccurate - which could be extremely damaging for someone in my business. If you are going to be in this business you have got to know your stuff. I used it once and will use it again but I no longer trust this company.
The program sometimes missed words that teachers don't. The program is okay to correct grammar mistakes, but as soon as your membership is over, they will charge you again. They will take your money and no refund AT ALL. I am not happy because I did not want my membership to be renewed, and they did it anyway. I honestly just eliminated my account and got charged. For the record, I won't be needing this service At ALL for the next whole year. Nothing that they said will ever help this feeling.

I cancelled my 7 day trial period and that same day they charged me 139$ on my Amex. What kind of a service is this? I subscribed to it because of at least two articles spoke of its merits. I should have known better. What kind of a website keeps their trial period as 7 days and charges $13 dollars for it. I will ask my bank to reimburse me. Lets see.

It checks grammar, clarity, etc. It is the only grammar checker I've found that lets you customize your purpose. For example, you can say you were writing a story, email, etc. It can also predict sentences based on what you've written before. If you ever see anything you might want Grammarly to improve, you can give feedback and advice. When it auto-corrects (Which it doesn't do too frequently) you can hover over the word and click 'Change back' if you don't like it. Every week it will send an email of your tones, how productive you were etc. One of my favorite parts is that it uses emojis to detect your tone. (Formal, informal, friendly, optimistic, etc) One of my most useful extensions and I LOVE IT!

Answer: Make sure you have set it to your language, as the default is American English, and you may need to change it. If you don't need to, remember that you could have failed for other reasons (not enough information, too much information, using Grammarly as a tool that will get everything right etc.).
Answer: There is a limit, but I find that only a minor inconvenience. If the document goes over the size limit, just cut and paste the document by halves or thirds and run Grammarly checks on each part.
