I booked a 3 stop over flight. Gisborne, Auckland Sydney to Albury, however Air NZ had completely withdrawn the early morning departure flight 2 months back therefore all connecting flights were pushed back. Gotogate knew of the cancellation 2 months ago but would not acknowledge their mistake in informing me. I was informed 5 days before the international flight was leaving the country I was visiting. Their lies were horrendous. Three days of contacting and being fogged off. In the end I cancelled and re booked with the carrier direct. They are liars, and constantly mis-informed me. I am taking this to the Ombudsman of Australia. I have already informed their awful staff my intentions and basically they cldnt care less. I was hung up on trying to explain the situation. Definitely not customer focused. They don't care. I also complained to Air NZ about the authenticity of selling off block seats to travel agents who damage the reputation of major airlines and destroy customer trust and any form of relationships with carriers. I will action a case against this travel agency. They shld be banned. I spent a good 10 hours over 3 days with nothing but crap. Their biggest BS line was "we are waiting for authorisation from the airline" I contacted Air NZ twice and was informed that the travel agent can change the bookings, they do not require the authorisation from the main carrier. So lies and deceit. I've lost a good amount of $$. For me thats a weeks wages! Shouldn't be allowed! There needs to be a accountability and transparency.

Booked a flight with them last July. Our LA to MNL flight got cancelled due to Covid. They were able to process the refund for that flight. However they said they'll have to wait if our return flight MNL to LA (with a different airlines) will be cancelled too. I called a few weeks ago to ask for any updates regarding the refund of our return flight. They told me they already processed it and just waiting for the airline for the refund. It's already been 2 months and so I called them to ask again for any update, but they informed me that it is written on their system a "NO SHOW" status. How are we able to use that return ticket if we're not even in MNL during that time? The travel agency should have called the airline prior to cancel our ticket. They told me to call the airline but the airline said we cannot do the refund ourselves if we booked that flight through a travel agency. This travel agency kept on telling us that they do not have any authorization to do the cancellation or whatsoever. THIS TRAVEL AGENCY IS USELESS. THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. A

I looked for online return flight tickets from Cape town to London for April2023. Whilst looking at airline websites, the google advert for Gotogate kept on popping up advertising ``cheapest international flights. We offer the best customer service & flexible tickets. Unbeatable low prices on flights. Great customer service & flexible tickets``. Iwas misled as the site directed me to a branch which i thought was South African as it was labelled SAgotogate.com and i found return flights with extras for R9469.81. I intepreted tis as being South African Rands (R). In reality it was riyals (R), how devious can this be!. My bill was ******* rands and to put this into perspective one week later I can get direct flights to London and return for Rands*******.00. Also this website routed me to indirect flights from cpt to JHB then London! Rands******* would have bought me business class tickets
The customer service sucks as
1. The 24 hour telephone line doesnt work,not answered
2.Arabic writing comes up on the chat communication line,and the chat gets terminated by the site
3.emails bounce back
This in my opinion is a company not to be trusted as they use deceitful advertising,are not cheap and mislead as shown by the SA in sagotogate (SA being intepreted as South Africa),and quote prices in R which could stand for Riyals or rands. Why would a British company Gotogate direct me to SAGOTOGATE when i am in South Africa
I live in Israel. In September 2019 I made a reservation through Gotogate for flights From Tel Aviv to Tromso for February 2020. Flight cost was 1124USD.
When I made the reservation I specifically asked Gotogate for their cancellation policy. On September 9,2019 they sent me an email stating that if I cancel my flight for any reason I am entitled to a full refund minus 175USD airline handling fee and minus 77USD Gotogate's handling fee (per person).
In February 2020 I had to cancel my flight due to the COVID19. After deducting the handling fees from the total amount paid, I expected for a refund of 620USD.
After long correspondence and a lot of phone calls, on July 30,2022 Gotogate sent me an email saying that I am not eligible for any refund because "the airline company says that my tickets are non-refundable". This is absolutely unacceptable, and makes me very angry. How can Gotogate say now that I am not eligible for a refund if I made the booking through them knowing that I AM eligible for a refund? Gotogate should take the responsibility and refund me, even if the airline company refuses refund.
Unfortunately, I can't take Gotogate to court, because they don't have a physical branch here, but I swear I will never ever use their services again, and I urge everybody to do the same.
