Wasn't aware of 60 days to register. This company makes zero concessions even when the website has issues. Plus, if you have unexpected health issue that prevents from finishing registration. You have to have a doctor excuse! What? I do not reccommend this company. And. Let's include the unit sounds like a rocket blasting off when it cuts on. My other unit did the same. Guess I'm stuck! But glad I can tell others!
I purchased a unit two years ago, outside went out, nothing but problems. The unit was trash, nobody would work on it. Had to spend $3300 on a new unit they wouldn't warranty. So beware of Goodman, they don't stand behind there products. Only what your money.
Replace my a/c unit in 3/2020 the blower motor faield today Nov 18 2022. The installer/serviceman came out and diagnosed a bad motor. He went to the distributor and they cant get a motor blower, it was estimated at 3 to 4 weeks for its arrival. I live in South Florida, its not justifiable that i go with out a/c for that length of time. If the company was to get in touch with me here is the model # AWUF*******AC Serial # *******972 if they want to help me they can since the unit is registerd to me.
I will update this reviwe if it gets resolved.
The HVAC is so loud that it is barely legal in my state. The local reps only care about collecting money and ignore all that may not produce profit. They got their cash and are now unconcerned--except when a gov agency checked it out. Barely passed the noise level and the unwritten ads and "guarantees", tho false are unenforceable. Seniors are particularly good for scamming. Less than a year and if I could afford it I would replace it without a second thought.
This is later about myself i want to meet honest man in my life and i will give him all of my heart and a man with the fear of God that can take care of me and my kids me too with care for him forever.
Had a Goodman installed Sept 2021. It replaced a 12 year old, 15 seer Luxaire. I read all the reviews on their website (yeah what a laugh) This was supposed to be a 2 stage, efficient system. The truth... It is highly INEFFICIENT. This past month it used over 900 kwH more than the 12 year old Luxaire and the average temps were the same. Tried contacting Goodman directly because our HVAC contractor is so busy (and he is not a Goodman dealer specifically) for a Distributor name or someone who truly knows how to set this up and all I get is form letter responses. Why bother having a contact page when they don't give you any useful information. I never thought I'd say this but I miss the Luxaire. I am so NOT impressed with Goodman. And... it wasn't all that cheap either!
I the home owner installed my furnace everything went fine took my time look good time to try it out wouldn't start up and had to call a service man in come to find out the circuit board was not fasten down and had shorted out and blew the fuse.
Being no falt of mine im out $65 service call due to improper building at the factory
Company said we cant help you knowing this has happened before.
Thanks Goodman
I am an HVAC contractor and have been in business for 13 years. Over the 13 year period I have installed nothing but Goodman brand equipment. Hundreds of installs of Goodman equipment and 13 years later, I have filed warranty 5 times. (2) blower motors, (1) inducer motor, (1) compressor and (1) coil. The compressor failure was just that one in 5,000 lemon that failed from the factory in 2 days. Replaced for the customer at no charge and 5 years later, it's still kickin. To the person with 5 failed coils, it's impossible to have 4 coils fail on the same unit like that. Installed should have checked and replaced the Schroeder valves on the outdoor unit for approximately $5 and chances are you would have stopped losing refrigerant. I've seen it too many times to count where companies assume leak is coil related. As for any of you paying for labor when you feel it should be warranty related, find different a contractor. I back all my work with 10 years labor and register all the products I install for the customer and send them the registration certificate. Why would I give 10 years labor warranty on products that, according to many of you is junk? I would be out of business in no time. I've never had one problem getting warranty exchange on the 5 items in 13 years. The reason I can back my work for 10 years while using Goodman equipment is because I'm installing the equipment correctly. My advice to you all with bad experiences, find a new contractor not a new brand. Brand means nothing as I've seen Trane, Lennox, Bryant etc... all fail in under 5 years because of incompetent installers.
I purchased a new A/C for my home about eight years ago. After about two years, the coil in the unit failed, and had to be replaced. Again after the unit was out of warranty, the coiled had to be replaced again, at a cost of about $2500. 00. That lasted less than a year. After the fourth failed coil, I had a completely new A/C installed. Through a dealer, was told that Goodman still sells and manufactures this crap! Right now there is a class action lawsuit against Goodman. I can't wait to join. Goodman is located in Houston. If I were near, I would picket their facility. All in all, they cost me about four grand in repair costs.
Unit I had when I bought the place was dead within 1 year after buying (within 8 years of install). New unit from Goodman has failed within the first year. I'm in Southern California where 100 degree weather is common (especially in my area), and here I sit with no AC, and no parts available in a major metropolitan area. When discussing with the general manager at Goodman, the copout answer is we can't keep parts there, it's not good business. (Translation, we hold our parts in TX because we don't have enough to replace the failed components in our system, and dole them out as needed to all of the hotter locations in the US. We don't ramp up production on the parts to make sure every region has them.
Goodman 5 ton unit installed in my new construction home. Builder never told me I had to register the HVAC unit with Goodman. Two years in the coil starts leaking (I heard there was a dismissed class action suit about this). They have left me for over a week now with NO HVAC. I keep asking when will the part ship and they cant tell me and do not honor callbacks. It does not matter how good a system is or how long the warranty if the manufacturer does not honor the warranty. Reported them to Texas Attorney General local new stations.
Purchased two goodman heat pumps about three years ago. First unit failed in the first few months. Noisy compressor and surging. They replaced the compressor and that one also failed. Finally replaced the unit. The second unit has now failed with the same problems. Goodman had the compressor replaced which cost me $1200 in labor and trip charges and now it still isn't running correctly. Very noisy low heat out put so cooling will be as bad this summer. Unit was about $3000. Installed. So to fix this either the contractor/installer or I will have to foot the bill. What Goodman wants done will probably cost us more than the unit cost new. Goodman/Daikin does not back up their units. Poor customer service. The person from Goodman/Daikin was a very rude person. That alone would make me not buy from them again. Poor units along not standing behind their products with poor customer service will make me buy elsewhere. Goodman was a reliable company until purchased by Daikin. Would give them no stars if I was allowed.
Goodman warehouses ft worthare awful to deal with. On phone for hour at a time and ignored. Can they just not find quality people or is it further up in management. If you call to order parts at 3 they close at 4 and you will get left on phone.
Well I was happy with my A/C purchase from Goodman, that is until the unit broke down and had to try and use the warranty. They claim to have the best warranty in the business, truth is all they will cover is the part, even though the part broke down less than half way through the warranty period, pretty much open ended for the contractor to charge you what ever they want to make the needed repairs.
My home warranty is better than this.
People are not unhappy with the service they provide, they are sickened by the "warranty" misrepresentation.
I will not be giving anyone advice to purchase from Goodman nor Lennox. Their warranties are a puff of smoke. Their customers are not unhappy with the service they provide, but are sickened by the warranty misrepresentation.
We bought 3 Goodman units for our house 3 years ago. The smallest of the 3 systems which is for master bed and bath has been broke more than it has worked. The main drain pan had hairline crack found 2 years after purchase leaked water inside system and every month it died my installer literally stop taking service calls on it because they are so bad. I have the nest thermostat which shows ALL 3 systems run an average of 15hrs a day they do not cool my house they just increase my energy bills I have solar, with my previous 20 year old system my electric bill was $30 with these Goodman systems it's $450 or more per month they are total trash.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I am tempted to rip them out and replace with another brand. How could a 2ton system not cool one bedroom?
I have new windows and doors throughout my house it is not from poor insulation it's these AC systems I set it at 76 it runs continuously and can't hit target. Even last winter in Florida my house was 65 degrees the heat didn't even work. I freeze in winter and sweat to death in summer. Also last photo is in May still showing unit running up to 16 hrs a day! 3 systems same issue this cannot be a lemon these are BAD systems.
Very expensive lesson in more ways than one.
Daily headache
I purchased a new unit in Aug 2021 with a 5 year warranty. In May 2022, the unit wasn't cooling correctly, I contacted the dealer that installed the unit, it had lost half the amount of coolant, somehow with no apparent leaks. Had the coolant refilled and no further issues. Coolant wasn't covered under the warranty, $128. June 2023, unit wasn't cooling properly, again, called the dealer that installed the unit, had to recharge coolant level. $168, not covered under warranty. July 2024, again unit isn't cooling properly. Dealer that installed the unit wouldn't call me back, so I looked up additional dealers, called 3 and got one to actually show up. Quoted 99 service fee, as "labor" isn't covered under warranty. Capacitor was bad, $15 part was covered. Labor = $348 for 45 min worth of work. Highway robbery by their "dealers" which I now understand because no one outside of their "dealers" will touch this product. Brand new, obviously defective unit has now cost me $644 in maintenance cost even though it's under "Warranty". Buyer Beware.
Bought new house in Roswell, Ga March 2016. Goodman AC units. Evaporator coil failed end of June, 2016. Company said warranty covered only parts, no labor, so my out of pocket was $800 for labor and freon. Called Valerie from customer service, and her supervisor Claudine, who basically told me tough, they would do nothing. And, they told me I hadn't registered the product in the first month so my warranty was being cut in half, from 10 years to 5 years. I never saw any 'registration'. Company has bad ethics and bad products. This review parallels almost everything else I've seen on line. I suggest you stay away.
We have a 5 ton unit less that 5 years old. The compressor core failed when the unit was 2 years old. The replacement core failed after 2 more years. Goodman could not/has not yet supplied a replacement part. We live in southwest Florida and have been waiting 5 weeks so far without air conditioning for Goodman to send a replacement core. Our service company is waiting for 3 replacement cores from them. What good is Goodman equipment when their equipment fails every 2 years? What good is their warranty when they can't supply replacement parts? When you talk to them they can tell you how to trace the part order but can't seem to make the parts available.
Avoid these people at all costs, their equipment is junk!
Beware of this company's products. AC condenser coil lasted only 5 years, and mfg "warranty" is totally useless. Would have been okay if they just replaced the whole condenser, but they would only warranty and replace the coil itself. What they don't let you know is that the labor of replacing a coil (as opposed to replacing the entire condenser) will cost the consumer more than it would to just buy a new condenser and have it installed. That's a pretty sneaky way to draw in consumers with a false warranty. Called Goodman directly about it and had a customer service rep that was the rudest person I've spoken to in a very long time. Save yourself the aggravation and just buy a good HVAC unit. This definitely isn't GOODMAN.
I bought a goodman furnace in may of 2016 and it has never worked. I live in Nebraska where it gets cold. Unit freezes up. I hope this helps someone wanting to buy a goodman to go to some other brand.
Answer: Most likely, a bad batch off the production line or one of their suppliers sent them a bad batch of particular components i. E. motor brushes, coil winding, copper grade, armiture bearings. Unfortunately, sample testing at the manufacturers level will not show this issue. Only once it has been sent into the field does the problem sho up.
Goodman Manufacturing has a rating of 1.2 stars from 70 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases.
