We bought a package, air conditioner and furnace and on the first use, the air does not work properly. We have contacted the manufacture due to the run around from Linked Home who was the company we purchased this package. Tradecraft mechanical who are now trying to fix and they are as big of a scam as the product itself. NEVER buy a Goodman anything... period.
Goodman Manufacturing, Goodman HVAC, anything associated with Goodman and an HVAC system should be repelled and beware - Goodman has demonstrated shady business practices towards me. I build a new home which the builder chose to install two Goodman units. Closed August 2016. Six years later, upstairs unit had to be completely replaced because of leaking evaporator coils. Not one leak but many. A one off? No. So many poor quality evaporator coils were installed with the Goodman HVAC systems, there is/was a class action lawsuit filed. One year later, I am having to now replace the downstairs unit because of multiple evaporator coil leaks. After my experience a year ago with Goodman, I am not surprised their response is 'we no support warranty - buh bye!'. Peaces of mule dung - the lot of them. I'll pay my tuition of over $7k to once again learn about Goodman. If just one person reads this and realizes they are making a HUGE mistake installing anything with the Goodman on it - it is crap from China, Goodman will NOT acknowledge their mistakes regarding quality control of what they are selling.
I purchased 2 Goodman heaters. The one in my house flooded my upstairs shortly after I installed new carpets. The unit is only 2yrs old and a gasket in the unit that collects condensation went bad. Upon calling Goodman I was told that since i had an independent handyman install the unit it voided all warranties. When I explained that installing the unit to the ducting had nothing to do with the internal components I was told that it didn't matter. I was also told that the warranty only covers parts and that I should have purchased a separate warranty for labor. Seems Goodman was just trying to find a way not to stand behind their product.
After a long talk with Goodman dist Vice President., I found they no longer honor in store warranty. The contractor has to purchase a customers warrantied parts up front and then get your refund from an online portal. HOW STUPID! I won't play banker for Goodman or a customer, especially when I didn't install the system. I'll never sell Goodman again. RUUD #1.
I was sold a Goodman MSS9 furnace in 2017. Installed by an authorized dealer who swore by the quality of the unit with a 10 year warranty. It is 2020 and the unit has been limping by for the last 4 months, barely keeping the heat at 60 degrees. I have had 5 different companies look at it including the authorized dealer and no one knows how to fix. This has continued to cost me service call $$ each time it. Last night it tried to start for 15 straight hours while the temperature dropped to 50 in the house ( it is still winter in northern Wisconsin). I have a stroke victim trying to recover in this house and must be kept warm. The customer service line is a joke. The warranty is a joke. The service is a joke. The unit is GARBAGE
We had purchased a Goodman 4 Ton AC unit from GOODMAN.
Purchased it in October of 2022. We've had nothing but problems with it freezing up, the water isn't draining correctly, a part on the unit being defective and the list goes on. Our AC Company is getting nothing but the run around from Goodman using every excuse in the book then to replace the unit hanging up on our AC Company before he's done with his conversation with the man.
Poor customer service I have a big problem with this we have purchased two unit with in 6 months spending over around 8,000 total and we get this treatment? We have been dealing with this for this long since October and now we are going to probably have another nice big power bill from all this. I would not recommend buying A Goodman product at all I wouldn't even rate them a one not on the chart bad customer Service so they are most likely trying to get out of the warranty coverage. This unit hasn't been right since day one also we've had to pay out of Our pocket to the AC Company that's messed up. I've also but a review on the consumer site bad review.
I the home owner installed my furnace everything went fine took my time look good time to try it out wouldn't start up and had to call a service man in come to find out the circuit board was not fasten down and had shorted out and blew the fuse.
Being no falt of mine im out $65 service call due to improper building at the factory
Company said we cant help you knowing this has happened before.
Thanks Goodman
I had our furnace put in around 2004, and since we are putting our 3rd heat exchanger in. I'm asking you how you could allow a unit to be put on the market, where peoples lives are at stake. If it wasn't for a air conditioning person checking out our system out for an possible installation of air, we would not have known, he shut the system right down for the fear of carbon dioxide poisoning. I'm disabled and limited to my income and now to see I have to spend $600.00 to repair the unit puts me in financial set back. Now after saving so we could get air I have to fix a piece of junk, or try and get the rest of money to buy a new furnace, and forget the dream of having air condition. Why don't you people call back your GMNT/ 100-4 units before it kills someone!
First unit they couldnt make work, goodman came out and removed completely and put in another one and since then this thing spews freon every few months, one copper tube laid directly over another cost me 600 today in freon alone... buy ANYTHING but this crap
I have been installing Goodman for at least 16 years of the 20 no problems. But now I have had two units that the condenser was leaking or half full of 410a, I hate callbacks. I really like Goodman because they are simple in design, two times is enough for me, I hate callbacks! Paul
Janitrol, Goodman, Amana Goodman, Amana, Daikin, why would a stable brand change so many times? $700.00 to $1500. 00 Blower motors by Broad Ocean manufactured in China and Vietnam. Poor customer service. Slow parts turn around. Sorry, but Goodman aint so good for customer or contractor.
Repeatedly tried to register my units online but their system wouldn't recognize the serials. Brand new units, no reason it should have failed. I forgot for a time about it due to it not working right away, and then when I tried again, still wasn't working. Now had to try to call in... repeatedly their phone system disconnected and hung up on me. Tried online email form. No response. Tried their chat. Put on hold for at least an hour ("wait a minute", yeah right), couldn't hold any longer. Finally got through on the phone... only to learn I'd missed the 60 day window at this point for the extended warranty. Think they would give me a break due to all the problems THEY caused in getting it registered? Of course not! Can only imagine what a nightmare getting service would be considering how much a PITA just registering the warranty was.
Heat Pump is my title I have had a goodman heat pump for 8 years and have had nothing but problems with it. And now I find out that parts for this heat pump are obsolete. I am on a fixed income now and cannot afford a new heat pump. I would think a heatpump that is only 8 years old should not be out of date and obsolete. Please do something about this. Ilive in Danville Va. And Tim Gibson is my Repair Person
Had insid and outside unit installed and received warranty info where it was registered my servceman on 7/2010. Twice ithas been worked on at my expense and now it needs an &900. Repair and company states it is not register for the inside unit. This is bull i have paperwork where it is registered. Goodman said if the service company that install would sent register in again they would review. The serviceman is now deceased so that win\ll mot happen, they ar arip off. To not buy their products.
I purchased a Daiken AC/heater from Goodman manfacturing, unit DP14GM*******, serial number *******564. The salesman assured me Daiken products were of higher quality than say, TRAM units and it cost more. The unit is now 2 and a half years old and the high pressure switch malfunctioned was defective according to Precision Air who sold and installed the unit. The part was $178.00 and was covered, but I must pay $1600. For labor to replace it by Precision Air. Why the customer has to pay for the labor for a part that was defective is amazing. Beware of this sales pitch on covered parts.
My air conditioner went out and I haven't had it for two years yet I got it in July 21,2014 and I had to pay for parts and labor when y'all air conditioning had a problem I will not recommend this to anyone else my name is Mary Arthur and my number is *******066 I got my air conditioner from quality service
3 yr old AC Heat split unit has never held Freon. Just a 4000. 00 fan. Worse... Daikin/Goodman does not care, at all. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED COMPNAY Case # ******* There are some lucky people in this world, thus the positive reviews on this site.
BOUGHT A GOODMAN TO REPLACE MY OLD A/C.
THE GOODMAN NEVER WORKED FOR 4 SUMMERS.
I HAD ONE TECHNICIAN SAY, ONE VALVE PARTLY OPEN AND HE FILLED MY GOODMAN A/C($156.00 later)
I HAD ANOTHER TECHNICIAN COME OVER, HE SAID, THE JOB WAS A MESS, A LINE WAS LEAKING AND HE CHARGED ME $700.00 TO FIX YOUR A/C. WHAT A DISASTER. SOMETIME LIFE IS NOT ROSSY. BRIAN.
I am an HVAC contractor and have been in business for 13 years. Over the 13 year period I have installed nothing but Goodman brand equipment. Hundreds of installs of Goodman equipment and 13 years later, I have filed warranty 5 times. (2) blower motors, (1) inducer motor, (1) compressor and (1) coil. The compressor failure was just that one in 5,000 lemon that failed from the factory in 2 days. Replaced for the customer at no charge and 5 years later, it's still kickin. To the person with 5 failed coils, it's impossible to have 4 coils fail on the same unit like that. Installed should have checked and replaced the Schroeder valves on the outdoor unit for approximately $5 and chances are you would have stopped losing refrigerant. I've seen it too many times to count where companies assume leak is coil related. As for any of you paying for labor when you feel it should be warranty related, find different a contractor. I back all my work with 10 years labor and register all the products I install for the customer and send them the registration certificate. Why would I give 10 years labor warranty on products that, according to many of you is junk? I would be out of business in no time. I've never had one problem getting warranty exchange on the 5 items in 13 years. The reason I can back my work for 10 years while using Goodman equipment is because I'm installing the equipment correctly. My advice to you all with bad experiences, find a new contractor not a new brand. Brand means nothing as I've seen Trane, Lennox, Bryant etc... all fail in under 5 years because of incompetent installers.
My Goodman HVAC unit is less then 6 years old and I've already spent $3500.00 in repairs. I highly recommend not purchasing their product.
Answer: Most likely, a bad batch off the production line or one of their suppliers sent them a bad batch of particular components i. E. motor brushes, coil winding, copper grade, armiture bearings. Unfortunately, sample testing at the manufacturers level will not show this issue. Only once it has been sent into the field does the problem sho up.
