Deceptive advertising for Golf Pass+ Membership.
As a Black Friday deal in November 2024 Golf Now offered their Golf Pass+ Membership discounted from the regular price of $99 to $79. The offer stated clearly (I made a screenshot) that the offer included one full year of waived tee booking fees. Today I booked my 11th tee time and Golf Now charged me a $6.98 booking fee. When I called customer service about this they asked that I email them a copy of my screen shot. Then I got a call back about an hour later from an agent (from India) that said that I only get 10 waived tee credits and that the offer did not state that they were waived for a year. Following is the offer wording verbatim. FOR A LIMITED TIME GET $20 OFF A MEMEBERSHIP THAT INCLUDES WAIVED TEE FEES FOR A FULL YEAR. This could not be more plain, but the agent keep telling me that is not what the wording was even thought I provided him clear proof. Beware of Golf Now as they don't hold up their end of the deal.
For some reason my booking and the charge for it went through twice. I emailed them three times straight away but could not get any response and they don't have phone contact numbers for obvious reasons(don't want to solve any issues if they will profit from them)Do not use them.
Long time customer but recommend you do not ever pay up front for a tee time because if something goes wrong you will never get your money back. Very difficult to find a call in number and when you do get them they have horrible customer service. They gave me a credit for a mistake they made and would not let me use it on my next booking. They said it had to be on a hot deal only? Recommend you only use this site for tee time comparisons not booking tee times...
I am a disabled Traumatic brain injury survivor with occipital neuralgia and a frontal lobe injury. I have limited funds. My service animal got diagnosed with cancer the day I was supposed to play a extremely expensive course and I called the course and explained what happened and they told me of course they would refund. After a few minutes she said because this tee time was booked through Golf Now I will need to transfer sure no problem. As soon as I'm transfered the customer service experience went way downhill I spoke with a rude representative that said I was out of their refund policy and too bad, I asked to speak with her manager and was told he would call me back, and that never happened and she disconnected the call and no call back. They ripped me off for $173.85 and being disabled I have limited funds this was my birthday present to myself and I lost it and my service dog both in the same day. Great company wonderful policies.
I am a senior, just beginning to play with regularity now that I have retired. My son booked us a tee time that I would cover. I developed muscle spasms in my shoulder and would be unable to play. I spent most of the morning trying to remedy my issue with no success. We cancelled the booking 21.5hrs ahead of the scheduled tee time and GolfNow offered no refund or credit, keeping the entire amount due to its 24hr notice requirement. What was the point in our cancelling the tee time. Doing so allows them to re-inventory and reuse the slot, but we are out the $80 and they get to double dip and resell. I called the course and had I booked direct, they would have refunded. I would understand a cancellation fee, but the entire amount, no. I really feel like my pocket was picked. Seniors, protect your money and find another way of booking.
I was given a gift card for my birthday. Golf now will not honor the card. I provided them the card number but they say I need a pin. They want me to go to the people that gave me the card and provide their name, email, purchase date and amount so they issue me a PIN number. I am embarrassed to go to my friends and ask for all this information. I have never heard of any other company that has gift cards, handle them this way. I feel ripped off!
If you book using them and don't or cannot cancel or modify within 24 hours, they will try really hard to charge the FULL amount because of their cancellation policy. Had booked 4 some and only 2 were able to join which was outside that 24 hour time frame. This is not uncommon as things do come up in the world preventing players from joining. The course will not issue a refund directly when you show up to play and you have to call Golf Now to get a refund. It takes forever because they must call the course to confirm the tee time while you're on hold to verify how many players showed up and try to upsell you a bogus membership. WIll never use them again
If everything goes as planned GolfNow is 5 stars. If it rains bit the course is open you will get no refund. I have a ton of points but can't figure out how to use them.
But overall I like GolfNow I personally have seen no problem with the company
I gifted someone a $100 gift card thinking they can enjoy a round of golf on me, reservation made gets to course no tee time available no payment history and does not include 18hole game or cart. I called customer service at GN was disconnected Twice, finally i get someone to help just to tell me they do not refund!
I booked 2 tee times, one for me and one for my buddy... My buddy ended up not being able to make it so I reached out for a refund. There's no customer service number on their website or app so I had to do some digging to even reach out to cancel/request a refund. I called 18 hours in advance as opposed to their 24hr policy and they refused to refund the extra tee time I no longer needed. I'll never use GolfNow to book a tee time again and advise anyone reading this not to unless they want a headache if their plans change and need to cancel a tee time
I called to modify a reservation. I was connected to a representative and got connected within 30 second. I called back a second time, was connected to a representative. Spoke for about 4 minutes, she needed to put me on hold. I was on hold for 10 minutes and the call was disconnected. I tried to call back again and could not get to a representative, the automated responses just kept repeating itself over and over and would not forward me to customer service. I decided to try and make the change online, I have 3 reservations booked through golf now for next week and it had zero reservations under my account. Such a headache.
If you try to call Golf Now you will find it nearly impossible to find their number. If you do find it and call them you will find the most ignorant, ill-informed customer service people you will ever encounter. They charged me $129.00 for a "no-show" then argued with me about how many golfers were in my foursome. They (wrongly) insisted we were a threesome. Sheeeesh! My advice to everyone is to skip Golf Now and book directly through the pro shops.
I canceled a golf time because of cold weather and wind and rescheduled at same course 2 days later. System canceled and then rebooked the same time instead of 2 days later. GN customer service is now making me prove I did not play. I have been with GN for 5 years and the customer service has always been terrible. The first customer service girl admitted there is a problem with their system. This is not about the $ it's the principle. GN needs to fix their on line booking system and improve customer service.
So when there is a cancelation you lose your $$.For the record I didn't cancel my tee time...So GolfNow gave me a credit...Big woop because when I had to go back in to make the original tee time it cost me more.
Thanks GolfNow-
It appears that the reviews on golfnow has become a forum for competitors to trash or talk down each other, disgruntled employees to revenge their former golf course employers, and every other personal situation you can think of.
These brilliant idiots don't tell when a courses greens has been aerated until after the purchase and guess what "No Refunds" - I complained to them and their response was akin to flipping me off. Save your money book your own tee times.
DO NOT use this site. I saved $3.00 per player but had so many restrictions. Days, times, courses. Very, very restrictive! They didn't give senior rates! NO advantage to using Golf now
No rain out cancellation!
Requested a cancellation multiple times via email 72 hours before booked tee time, No response, website and call center unable to accommodate.
Appears this will end up in a cc dispute and small claims lawsuit.
Okay, I have used Golfnow for a few years. You sort of figure (see other reviews on it) out that they are not adding more value than booking direct and essentially are brokers in suffering golf courses with over capacity. Everybody that buys last minute knows that. But what is really annoying and frankly fraud in my perspective is the constant changing of reward programs during the year! Last year they forfeited (they called it conversion) your saved rewards and this year they did it again switching from rewards by player book to reservation (regardless of number of players) essentially for most people cutting their status by 50% or more.
It seems their steep rates are no longer enough and now they are robbing their customers too.
Boyfriend made a reservation online, he was double charged when the website refreshed asking for confirmation. Called customer service and spent 15 minutes dealing with dead end solutions. Said they couldnt confirm there was an error on their end, therefore they cant refund. Mostly frustrated that they refused to look into the issue and couldnt refund the charge which went through without approval. Bad experience, hopefully golf courses pick up on this lack of professionalism and find more personal and tailored businesses to partner with.
Answer: Because they got too big for their britches. They think they have such a clientele that the few who will drop off are insignificant. They would not even refund my fees for an accidental booking I made for the wrong day. You are correct, I have been going thru the local websites of the courses themselves. I was a customer for 5 years with about 40 bookings per year, they took away my free fees and the bonuses. I have not booked with them in 4 months.
Answer: Golfnow sent an E-mail to me (Dec) informing me that points must be used by Dec. 31. Ok tried to find a tee time for Sat or Sun because I work M-F. Not one single location available in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando to book. Having 6600 points that I lose, it seems more notice would have been provided to assist in using valued points (converted $88.20). Nearest course several hours away (Daytona) not happening. Contacted Golfnow and Mr. Joe Babcock of customer service, (oxymoron), had me call 800-767-3574 to get a tee time, what a joke, lady on phone was of no value and promised her supervisor would call back. Hell will freeze first, never again do business with these cons. Thanks, Douglas Roger Sundean
