Book a round at Shadow Glen golf course (in Manor, TX). After driving 40 mins out there to discover 9 of the 18 holes are closed for construction. I contacted golfnow and after they verify with the course, they said I can either just play the 9 hole twice or cancel (they can't refund the money, but will apply the money for the future round!). Why would anyone want to book with them again?!? It is complete waste of time and gas to drive out there. Both Golfnow and Shadow Glen Golf didn't bother to disclose an important fact that - half the course is close?! The way Golfnow handle this was ridiculous too!
They charged 48% fee for booking a 9 hole tee time. Neither the 9 holes or fee were disclosed until after booking. I immediately cancelled with the course only for golfnow to refuse refunding the fee. Absolute rip off of a service. Stay away from this deception. I wish I would have looked it up first to see an overwhelming 1 star review. Supreme Golf supports this and has no way of rectifying a booking.
I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone talking to customer service which did not help with my problem. We got 3 inches of rain in about 6 hours. They gave me a voucher for another tee time which I can't use when I need to. Will not use this piece of crap service again. Beware stay away from this company!
I have comparing regular prices and "Hot Deals" on GolfNow for a few weeks now. Prices for Hot Deals are typically about $6 cheaper than regular price but then they charge ~$3.50 per person booking fee so if I book for 2 people it is now more expensive. Additionally, payment is due at time of booking without any chance of refund with the exception if inclement weather. All in all it is more expensive to book with GolfNow with less security. Makes no sense.
I purchased two deals from deal caddy for $198. They were never able to be used and expired. I thought Golfnow would do the correct thing and at least give me a voucher for the unused vouchers. They fooled me so shame on them. They will never get my or any of my friends business again. POS company
I have never actually written a review before but my experience with this has infuriated so much that I feel forced to write this.
This company has actually taken 75 dollars of my money. I booked a tee time and tried to cancel it in accordance with their terms and conditions. However they refused to refund my booking. There is no way to talk to a representative because when you call they direct you to their garbage website which doesn't actually display anything. If you have any dealings with this company be prepared to have your money taken away. Whoever runs this should be ashamed of themselves
I Hope this saves someone from having to go thru this experience
Sincerely,
Robert Christian Huber
They are very deceitful... God help you if you need to deal with their customer service... like many others, I was enticed to play on one of the hot deals... needless to say, it was muddy so we had to walk, course told us to call Golf Now as it was prepaid, When I called, I was told the cart although they advise it is included may not be? What... I only played in the muddy conditions because GN will not give a refund (on prepaid). Fortunately I had a great 25 year relationship with my credit card company and to my surprise, they were happy to reverse the charge!
You will understand why all the 1-star ratings are warranted once you have a problem. Terrible customer service, same issue where tee time available and then an error message pops up saying unable to reach the course. Calling their customer service team is pointless. Save the time and frustration and NEVER call them, they will not do anything for you.
Can you give a less than zero for this site?! I was super careful when I booked to make sure I could cancel. They said I booked a Hot Deal and those can never be refunded - so I'm out $130++. I later found out you need to click a few times to find the fine print.
Be very very very careful. I have also cancelled a tee time 1 week in advance and never received my $12 back. NOW I get why not... it is literally a scam of a site. Good luck!
Cancelled due to 30 MPH winds with 50 MPH gusts. Refund denied. These are not conditions to play a round in. We would have rescheduled for the next day had they given us a refund. Now I'm still trying to get my money I paid for nothing in return. This app sucks and I would never recommend it to anyone!
Attempted to make a reservation at a local golf course then was bumped into this site. Booked reservation and email confirmation was sent for wrong day. Immediately called back and was told nothing could be changed or credited. Will call credit card to dispute charge as soon as it posts. This is not reservation service, but a wholesaler of off peak tee times. Don't use this site it will ruin your golf game.
This past weekend I paid on-line fees of $9.96 for four golfers with $196.00 due at the course. When we arrived for our tee time I was highly disappointed to learn the guy in front of me only paid $49.50 for his round. As it turns out we paid $2.49 more per golfer because we decided to use Golf Now... Never again. No more booking through Golf Now for me... My advice to those still using Golf Now... I highly recommend checking the course price before booking through these rip off artist...
Stay away from this company. Prices look cheap but after paying their online fees it ends up costing as much as purchasing the round from the course! Terrible customer service been on hold for over 30 minutes and counting because all of their employees give conflicting information about the policies of the company!
Difficult site to navigate. May advertise a $15 round but will be only one at the course at an undesirable time. All other almost twice that price.
Only used one time and when arriving at the course was informed their rack rate was even lower. They suggested always calling course before booking through Golf Now...

I wrote a review critical of the menu choices available on a golfnow "package" deal, and Golfnow would not publish it, saying it was "inappropriate". Our foursome all felt that we were ripped off. I won't use Golfnow again. Another reason is inability to change reservations. I recently booked directly with a course in Palm Desert on what turned out to be a very windy day. The course gladly re-booked our foursome for the same time the next day. Try that with Golfnow!
I have booked several, not many, times through this website. So far so good. However, I booked a time for me and my pals today that offered what appeared to be a decent deal. Not really though. The golf course, The Highlands of Elgin (IL), charged $6 more than the stated tee time rate?! They would not do anything and golfnow.com certainly didn't do anything? Now I owe my buddies a few extra bucks each and not the course or golfnow.com can or will do anything about it! First rate losers!
Booked on Golfnow [big mistake] - cancelled tee time 3 days before tee time and then Golfnow billed me anyway. I disputed with my credit card company and fortunately could show them the cell phone call records to the golf course 3 days before the tee time. Got the money back but wonder if this is just their typical business model. Won't be finding out.
Without question GolfNow, particularly their VIP Program is a Scam. I bought the VIP Package and it has never worked! Countless calls to them have been futile! Undoubtedly the worst Customer Service in the industry. Call me at *******196 and I'll share all the details!
I would strongly recommend never using any of their services. When I called and complained they essentially told me to Piss Off! $#*! them!
Golf is expensive and I was hoping to get my rewards from them but every time I tried to use a code it didn't work. Called the 800 customer service no answer. Tried to chat with someone but for some reason the message typing function did not work. Imagine that. They don't want to deal with us because at the end of the day their real customer are the golf courses. They have to answer to them not us. So if I could I would also give them a big fat zero, 0
I wanted to surprise my son coming home from college for the weekend with a round of golf. Saw a decent deal for Hunters Ridge Golf Course and decided to book online. After booking, the fees took the price up nearly $20. To make things worse, when my son arrived home, he was sick with the flu. I called the course and they were kind enough to cancel my time and told me they do nt charge my card until we arrive. I just checked my credit card statement and saw the total had been charged to my card. I called Golf Now and am being told refunds only given if the course is closed. The woman I spoke with "talked to her supervisor" who said they had to stick with their policy. I have been on hold for 10 minutes waiting to speak with this "supervisor". I used Golf Now several times in the past and, even though I felt gouged by their fees, still saved a modest amount. This fiasco has taken all the savings from the past.
Answer: Because they got too big for their britches. They think they have such a clientele that the few who will drop off are insignificant. They would not even refund my fees for an accidental booking I made for the wrong day. You are correct, I have been going thru the local websites of the courses themselves. I was a customer for 5 years with about 40 bookings per year, they took away my free fees and the bonuses. I have not booked with them in 4 months.
Answer: Golfnow sent an E-mail to me (Dec) informing me that points must be used by Dec. 31. Ok tried to find a tee time for Sat or Sun because I work M-F. Not one single location available in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando to book. Having 6600 points that I lose, it seems more notice would have been provided to assist in using valued points (converted $88.20). Nearest course several hours away (Daytona) not happening. Contacted Golfnow and Mr. Joe Babcock of customer service, (oxymoron), had me call 800-767-3574 to get a tee time, what a joke, lady on phone was of no value and promised her supervisor would call back. Hell will freeze first, never again do business with these cons. Thanks, Douglas Roger Sundean
