I have been with godaddy for 5 years. This month I missed a payment and was not aware of it. My website was deleted and I was charged $86 to restore it. The issue with this is I have been a 5 year loyal client and I have 6 websites with them. Currently only 2 are active. Godaddy has chosen 1 of my 2 active websites to delete and the inactive websites are still available to edit or renew. This is a scam that has been happening for years. If there is a renewed fee why does it not apply to all websites. Why is the only website to be deleted the active website. Because they know you need it so they hide it and to make it reappear they extort $86 from 1 client at a time. I will have to pay it but I suggest you use another website builder if you have the option. I hope they sleep good at night taking money that they have not earned from their own clients.
They are focused on posting positive reviews by their bots and fake accounts, which allow still rip off new customers, reading the reviews.
Facts:
1. While you try to check domain is free to buy, their system immediately reserve this domain and you receive false result: 'already taken' At the same time, they...offer you this domain to purchase with 800-100% margin on their side.
2.If you want to move your domain from them to other service, tons of tricks and obstruction occurred. Basically, if you requests the code which is nesesery to transfer your domain, you'll never get it. Certainly, they will blame your email account provider or everything else, denying to providing the code in the deferent way at the same time.
It is a high time to class-action lawsuit, which finally kick off this shady company from the market.
I have been with Go Daddy for over 20 years - now retired and do not need the services. They make it just about impossible to cancel a product. All it gives you is "RENEW" no "CANCEL". Call them and they fight you every inch of the way. Somehow along the way they lost their morals, values, and ethics. I would have kept a couple of products, but they crossed the line - I canceled everything - totally "P"ed me off.
I would say a crap a company. There support staff has no sense of technical issues.
I had more than 20 domains registered and 3 hosting accounts, I transferred all the domains to my existing onlinenic reseller account and shifted the hosting to HostGator. Every week my site went down for 2-3 hours, and when you submit a support ticket, they would reply after 12 to 24 hours saying "Your websites are working fine for us. Please let us know if you have any other problem" lol...
They are all earning the business because of putting the hot chicks banners on their homepage and attractive web layout offering different stuff with many discounts.
I would strictly say anyone going to Godaddy, STOP and buy from some better company.
I will not recommend any one to buy Go daddy services as they are very cold with customer service reply. Sorry we can't help you. One the payment is made they would put all the data on a page as given and call it as designed website. Very poor creativity, poor staff and very poor designing website.
They sound inexpensive at first. They are not! They are ridiculously expensive. Just wait for an auto-renewal, they will sneak in a nice price hike "after your promotion ended".
Terrible business model!
They charged me an "auto-renewal", and since I wasn't expecting it, I didn't check my business credit card account. I found out when I got the late fee notification by mail from the credit card company.
At times like this, that amazon AWS charges cents for hosting... this guys at GoDaddy auto-charged me over $600 dollars for "shared hosting" (your site in the same server along with hundred others competing for resources)
Called customer service. They just made me laugh:
- they couldn't refund me because 30 days had passed. Of course! I didn't know they had charged me.
- the rep: named Landon (didn't want to provide last name) literally said: since you already (forcibly) paid for it, you might as well use it.
Just save yourself some headache. Stay away from this clown business.
I sale Granite, I have a very highly rated company I used GoDaddy Commerce and Payments. I made an enormous error they have my clients deposit for over a week and they have zero I mean zero respect for the issue their clients experience. I had an online payment issue where they would not fund my clients payment and it took a week and maybe 10 hours on the phone. Net result I will never nor will any of business work with your Company in the future.
GoDaddy is like a glitchy, terribly designed, difficult to use version of Weebly, sadly. And I actually spent money on this. They sold me a package of domains when I only needed one, so I ask what the hell do I do with the other 3 domains?
Their builder is bad and they desperately try to sell design services to you.
GoDaddy is thoroughly terrible.
I was hoping for better hosting with this hosting provider but it turned out worse than my previous hosting provider. I went to check on my website one day and found it gone. Really what's worse than that? A hosting provider that doesn't host the website. They took it upon themselves to delete my website even though I had paid up front for a full year when I took the account off "auto renew". They didn't even contact me. When I found the website was gone and asked them why they took it down. I got no answer except an apology which quite frankly didn't make it all better on my end. I had a terrible experience with them and there customer service was terrible and I found them rude. I contacted them a few times to ask a few questions and I felt like I was bothering them. They just didn't seem interested in helping me at all.
GoDaddy has chosen to stop supporting business email names for domains. After 25 years all of a sudden, I can no longer receive business emails under my business name or receive them from GoDaddy;'s contact form. They are destrying my businee
I have a account with them for about 3 months i wish i never had account till this day i cannot open my store i wasted my money poor service i hate them do your homework before jumping in please i made the mistake huge don't do the same
I have purchased VPS and Shared hosting from GoDaddy. In VPS, Server was restarted automatically almost every day. Called Godaddy for several times but they raise the hand. Yesterday My Shared hosting was infected by Virus, All folders and files changed, Godaddy support told me that its only your issue.
I want to rate it ----1 star but not possible here.
I had a pretty good experience, although the service was not outstanding, it was quite reasonable for the cost. If asked if I will continue to use it, the answer is yes, because it fits my current financial situation
These guys have a grand model, but they do not protect what you write. I have had an enrollment and could not figure out why all of a sudden business went totally south/like zero after being robust after many years. This lasted 3 months, website resulting businenss/revenue usually was $4K a month. Talked to godaddy, they "fixed" their problem on my enrollment page and offered me $30. They cost me $4000. $#*!s, pound sand godaddy. I HATE these people. They can go pound sand/die/go to hell. What else bad can I say? I would say it, I hate this company so much. They owe me $20 thousand. Until they pay me for screwing up my website (they admitted their problem, not mine), I want my money back from them.
One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. In order to end autorenewal, I've had to talk with four customer reps, spend multiple hours, and still haven't made progress. Reps asking the same questions repeatedly in the same conversation, 10+ account and identity verifications, hours lost, stress gained and nothing accomplished in a hellish interaction where I have to fight and spend hours of my time to keep my own money. Horrible and immoral company behavior.
This has been the worse decision of our agency switching to godaddy. They have the worst customer service I have ever come across. You can't get any help or anyone to do thier job. Spent over 1600 and have no access to our domain or emails and no one seems to want to help. They just want to keep our money and bull$#*! us, f*** godaddy
I have spent 2 weeks and trying multiple times to transfer my domain away from GoDaddy. I have talked with them in chat, and on the phone each time with the promise that they will transfer my domain successfully. No matter who I talk to or what I do, the transfer is rejected by GoDaddy.
If you look at their google raitings, the same person "T" has given positive raitings, likely done by someone at Godaddy to obscure their negative reviews.
I highly reccomend avoding this company. Siteground is a better hosting option.
I will be filing a complaint with iCANN today.
I purchased an e-commerce build and website management on 9/3/2020. I was promised a build and get my web storefront up in a matter of weeks. After 5 techs and numerous phone calls I never received anything close to what I paid for. Seems that these employees leave and never finish their work. DO NOT USE GODADDY unless you have plenty of time to waste.
I have used GoDaddy for last 5 years to make sure all reviews are answered. They decided to upgrade software last month. I have tried for over a month to upgrade and did get them to take my credit card and charge me but no reviews were looked at or answered. Then I get a email telling me they cancelled me for not talking to them. 3 hour hold times and account managers who take payment and run and will not respond. Needless to say I am no longer using them for reviews and after this ordeal I am shocked they even know what they are. Watch yourself
At the time of signing for domain, I asked the rep that I dont want any later surprises so give me final price inclusive of every feature required for beginner URL. After 15 days they ask me to pay for SSL and after 10 months ask me to pay for email. Usually all domain hosting service at least provide one email free of cost but GoDaddy is here to rip off customers and extort money. Stay away from them
Answer: Do not use this company. Go daddy excessive fees, will keep adding fees claiming lack of security, and also has a policy that will ask for private information such as passport, license if you ever change your phone number even though they will talk to you on the phone.
Answer: We offer an easy to use E-Commerce website builder. Here is a link where you can sign up for a free trial: https://www.godaddy.com/websites/online-store
Answer: Did you have any luck with this. We have been ripped off by them for 4 years and have only just succeeded in closing the account. Thanks for posting.
