The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of negative customer experiences, particularly regarding its customer service. Many clients report long wait times, unhelpful support staff, and unresolved technical issues, leading to frustration and financial losses. Complaints about opaque policies and difficulties in obtaining refunds further exacerbate dissatisfaction. While a minority of users acknowledge the company's services, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of reliability and professionalism. Overall, customers express a strong inclination to seek alternatives, reflecting a pressing need for the company to enhance its service quality and responsiveness.

Extended hold times on average 30 minutes and that's what they estimate. It's actually much longer than that, and then you're connected to someone with a lousy attitude and no understanding of anything. I took all my domains away except the one I need because it's attached to my business email. If I could give zero stars I would.
I have just registered one domain last a few days less than a week. GoDaddy charged my credit cards and send confirmations. However, they said we need to verify your account they called during the weekend and I was out of home for vocations and canceled my registered domain! They had my personal and official name, credit card, and address. Why shall they act like such prematurely? I won't recommend anyone waste their money and time with GoDaddy services.
My recent experience is hopefully the end of my dealings with GoDaddy.
I have NOTHING good to say about this company. Of course, I have been spoiled now by years of working with InMotion Hosting reps who do everything in their power to assist without asking for more money.
On 5/24/23 I spoke with the first GoDaddy rep who was deceivingly helpful when offering to put me on hold with the "2nd tier" support. After the on hold music ended, I thought I would wait further - no one ever answered. I called back only to be told by the new rep that they did not have a 2nd tier support. So in essence I was lied to. This conversation continued in a downward spiral with the new rep being condescending and saying that there was no way to help further without my client paying for tech support. I told him that we had paid for tech support in the past and had to fix the issue ourselves so we were reluctant to give them additional money. Suffice it to say, I was able to talk my client into moving her hosting from GoDaddy to InMotion Hosting.
InMotion Hosting has now restored the problematic site and transferred another site to her hosting. I plan to transfer the client's domains to InMotion as well.
I also have some personal domains at GoDaddy which I am transferring as I do not want to help sustain a business that cares nothing for its customers and goes out of their way to be deceitful and unhelpful.
As a web designer, I could never in good conscience recommend GoDaddy to anyone.
Buyer Beware.
Support level -10: you get India, Philippines, etc.
Hosting? Don't touch it! No wonder they took support phone number off their website where used to be on top menu! I been a client for 20+ years now.
They used to be "OK: for domains when stated, since than, they got totally woke company (just look at their promotions effort target!) and their quality dropped to bottom while prices got higher
Nine Lyn Protective Services (NLPS) is a very reputable, professional, experienced, and provides hands on training to prepare for fire arm handling and license. You will not regret it.
Customer service is awful! Cannot get a Representative in the United States to assist you. You cannot understand the foreign Representative. They are outsourcing to other countries rather than employing Americans who need work. It is so frustrating listening to a foreign accent that is difficult to understand! DO NOT SUPPORT GODADDY AS THEY DO NOT SUPPORT AMERICAN JOBS!
Downhill. Terrible customer support focused on apologizing rather than addressing problems. So sad. They used to be great.
And their support team basically can't solve anything.
The worst server and hosting provider. Bypass this provider.
Where do I start? If you're suckered in by the "low" cost of their domains, think again. The renewal is far more than what the initial price is. It's normal for the price to go up a little, but not this much. My advice would be to turn renewals off and transfer your domains out ASAP. As an example of the price gauging is my.net domain, with privacy GoDaddy auto-renewed the domain for $110, the price with CloudFlare was around $33 as a comparison.
As I attempted to transfer domains, some would work, some wouldn't. The error? A vague "There was an error processing your request. Please try again. If the error continues contact support at (02) xxxx xxxx.". I verified that everything on my side was fine. After trying to work around calling the number, which is always a massive delay, I figured it was time to make the call. Investigating into the actual error from the server (not just the front-end), it confirmed the issue was on their end. A 500 "Internal Server Error" performing a standard task on their site. It's probably a great (for them) business strategy, as not answering the phone and not allowing transfers of domains out, the user is forced to pay the higher price. I'll be advising the ACCC for their input on this practice to ensure it's given adequate attention.
After 70 minutes on hold, listening to the same basic 4 chord tune every minute or so, I was beginning to wonder why I would have ever paid a premium price for domains has I known the support was so below zero.
First of all, I'm only calling them because the website is so poor that it is unable to provide an error message of any substance that I can use to solve the problem myself.
Eventually getting through, the level one support rep had to keep putting me on hold - my request was far beyond the "my password doesn't work" requests typically assigned to 1st level. GoDaddy tech support told the rep to ask me to email them at an internal only email address. I didn't know this until the email bounced stating as such. By now, my frustrations are at 100/10.
After 4 hours in total, I'm still at the mercy of GoDaddy support. Will they call back as promised? My expectations are low.
What would I do differently next time? I would find another provider - their domains are easy to buy, but good luck trying to transfer them out. There are many other providers for domains, my choice was CloudFlare and Google domains in the end. This company will waste your money and worst of all your time.
I ended up getting my domains transferred out after spending hours on the task. It took weeks to do a simple task. After a few weeks, I received an email telling me one of my domains will be auto-renewed. This was a problem as the domain had auto-renewal turned off and I had it with another provider. Subsequent queries to GoDaddy around clarification have been ignored and met with silence.
I built a website on GoDaddy and bought a domain from GoDaddy for my business, and start to take payments for my sales from customers, but GoDaddy doesn't allow me to deposit the fund of our sales collected through GoDaddy.Sasha from GoDaddy payment team emailed me and told me they will illegally possess the fund of my sales due to some risk factors, I replied to Sasha and asked her to explain what those risk factors are of releasing the funds to me, we are a legally registered LLC in Florida who paid our tax every year, she didn't reply to me so far. I called the GoDaddy customer service number, Patrick and Susie from the customer service team answered my call after I was held on the line for 1 hour, she told me she doesn't know what those risk factors are when I asked about the risk factors in Sasha's email, we asked Susie who is the right person we should talk to and will help us with this issue, she said NOBODY, she couldn't help in any ways.It is such a shock to know that GoDaddy illegally possesses our fund for no legitimate reasons and their customer service is horrible and don't help solve any problems.I will keep posting the updates publicly on how this incident goes and how they respond to me. Sharing my experience to let more people know how GoDaddy explain why they illegally possess the fund from sales for no reason.
Go Daddy actually charged my VISA 2 years after I cancelled all my accounts. On March 13, they told me they would credit the charge, but now they refuse to do it.
They started my website but never finished it. Stay far away from this company. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
I have used GoDaddy for last 5 years to make sure all reviews are answered. They decided to upgrade software last month. I have tried for over a month to upgrade and did get them to take my credit card and charge me but no reviews were looked at or answered. Then I get a email telling me they cancelled me for not talking to them. 3 hour hold times and account managers who take payment and run and will not respond. Needless to say I am no longer using them for reviews and after this ordeal I am shocked they even know what they are. Watch yourself
1. Very poor customer service (GoDaddy)
2. I spent half day to get technical person on the call.(GoDaddy)
3. I have terrible experience with them.(GoDaddy)
4. I love to quit their service(GoDaddy)
F***ing terrible. Godaddy's services are:
- Overpriced 100x
- Waste hours of your time texting/on the phone with representatives (most of which are from India or wherever)
- Set to autorenew
- Complicated interface
I have been in the phone for 3 hours and the cs rep hung up on me. Taking my business elsewhere! Do yourself a favour and don't use go daddy….EVER
As a small business I hired Godaddy to design my website, host my domains and 1 year of SEO optimization.
6 months into the 1 year it has an overall terrible experience.
Six months ago the site was listed 101 on Google and today it is still listed 101 on Google.
At every month review I mention my concern and I get a lot of talk and promises from Godaddy rep but no change. The main issue is that Godaddy SEO is NOT working together with Godaddy Website design. Please do not use Godaddy, find a small SEO/website design company that will take care of all the issues that comes up. There sales people sound very promising but that is not the case. Do NOT pay the year service fee in advance.
We bought a service from Go Daddy to protect our site ( Firewall), and our site is suspended by Google every week; hackers are putting Malware on the site weekly, and Go Daddy and its FireWall can not do anything. Not only that, it is more shocking that Google informed us that the site has Malware, and they suspended us when we advised Go Daddy first, they said no, there is no malware on your site, and our firewall on our account showed GREEN means the website was clean and protected. When they look carefully, they say yes, it is Malware. This is for the 3rd time right now, and they cleaned the site and sent a notice to us, and when we contacted Google and informed them, Google said WRONG, your site still has Malware, and we went back to Go Daddy, and they cleaned again. Our life is on hold now, and no one in Godaddy is giving a clear answer.
Go Ddaddy firewall means website security is NOT PROTECTING ANY WEBSITE. Not only that, it is showing +A GREEN means the web is clean and protected, and there is no problem, and this is when the site is suspended by Google! Not only do they not protect your website, they even do not detect Malware. SHAME
GoDaddy are the most evil web hosting company out there. Especially if you dont use them. GoDaddy purchased my domain name and pretended that someone else had purchased it and tried to sale it back to me for $28,000.00 They said they would try to negotiate with the person who purchased it which is themselves and come back with a large number of $28,000.00 Its been 7 years since they did this and still to this day no one owns the domain. The name for my small business can only be used for what I do so anyone that would purchase it and do what I do all of their business would come to me 1st because my business has this name everywhere. They purchased my domain for less than $15 and want to sale it to me for $28,000.00.
Answer: Do not use this company. Go daddy excessive fees, will keep adding fees claiming lack of security, and also has a policy that will ask for private information such as passport, license if you ever change your phone number even though they will talk to you on the phone.
