A while back before I fully understood how Comodo works, I was trying to allow a program through the Firewall. Something I couldn't do at the time, as stupid as that sounds. Anyway, I asked a Geekbuddy person to help me with my problem, he asks to take remote control of my computer. I let him do so, and then he turns off every protective setting on Comodo and disconnects without a word. I got a virus that same day.
I think i $#*! my pants on what these people are doing. Not really though. These people love to lie to you. Scams are gay anyways. Don't trust these people. This is just a reminder review.
Don't try to cancel geekbuddy you'll get a guy who speaks an unknown language
And is no help. Forget about getting back any money spent on this sham. I got this program along with Comodo security and are both companies to avoid at all costs.
If you can find a security program along with a help program made and operated in this counrty you'll no doubr, have better luck...
So... so rude... I hate the guy whom I spoke with just now. He is evil... Don't deal with these people. They don't have compassion and bad customer service. He does not want to help me telling me that he is not a teacher and that he does not work for customer service. He is a technician. Dud?! You are still in customer service. Bad practice... so so bad...
I was downloading a game onto my computer and it came up with "do you want this app to do changes to your computer?" after i said yes random apps started downloading i deleted them all then GeekBuddy popped up saying things like my computer is not protected against malware and other $#*! like that, when i played a game or something on full screen it'll crash then say like Steam has crashed.
I knew it was a scam because i try to uninstall it but it kept popping up with scareware. Earlier this year i downloaded an uninstaller to remove geekbuddy thanks to their software they got rid of it, I've not gotten any scareware pop-ups from geekbuddy COMODO anymore. This is coming from a high school student (17)
Earlier I posted some negative comments about GeekBuddy. I have since realized that I had misunderstood the complete installation process for Comodo. I do apologize to GeekBuddy and also to readers of my post. Since installing Comodo and receiving assistance from GeekBuddy I have found their service to be quite satisfying.
I was happy with Comodo, everything seemed really good. I wasn't sure about the GeekBuddy support but at the same time figured that support is handy if that's what it is. I had a problem with my browser the first 'tech' vanished after I explained my problem, the second Geekbuddy guy also rapidly exited the coversation the third Geek spent roughly 20 mins AAAh remotely addressing my issue he then mumbled that I need Tech support and vanished leaving me with a dead computer as in nothing and I mean nothing worked. My desk top is now smashed up and awaiting recycling. So yet again sorry to be boring why is an apparently reputable company such as Comodo merging itself with these Geek ****holes?. All over the net people seem to asking should I keep GeekBuddy? Or should I disinstall it?. Don't worry they'll decide for you.
They all have canned responses. To be honest, if you say "What's 1+1?" the GeekBuddy support agent will reply with "In order to answer that I need you to give me access to your computer." I never said yes but this most recent time right after I clicked No my PC honestly got a blue screen and the caps lock light started flashing (it wouldn't let me turn on my laptop). I had to watch a video on my tablet to get my PC working again, but my PC would just freeze up each time and I had to keep repeating the process of removing my battery, unplugging charger, holding Power, etc. The only way I could fix my PC was to do a System Restore from Safe Mode. I can honestly say GeekBuddy is a scam, at least the Comodo version. I'm amazed they can somehow illegally do this to you without being sued.
Do not use this company. I was coerced into buying a 3 year plan instead of the one year. Low and behold, I was charged for both. After they "worked" on my computer, it ran the same as before. I have tried to cancel as I was told I had 30 days to cancel. They keep putting up obstacles to giving me the refund. I just received my SECOND email telling they want feedback as to why I am canceling before they will give me a refund. I already answered the first one. Oh, also I just found out that someone tried to use one of my online accounts to buy something. Really strange that this happened after I allowed remote access to my computer. Yes, I am really stupid and naïve. Please don't get suckered in like I did. I should have looked at the complaints before I did this.
I was installing games on my computer than geekbuddy automaticly installed stuff on my computer i cant delete it and when ever i play my steam games geek buddys pops up and makes me exit out of full screen saying i have 6 browser issues i close and ignore it go back to my game but geekbuddy crashes my games when i ignore it
This is the worst example of customer "lack of" support I have ever come across. Their so called gurus are iinept to say the least. Completely incapable of solving problems once their "cheat Sheets" run out of ideas. I have wasted many hours talking to countless support agents who know next to nothing. I cannot completely uninstall it from my computer either other thanm doing a clean install from the boot disk to remove it. Nothing short of being malware from an Internet Security company. Oh dear.
Was having the Geek Buddy pop up on my computer, never bought it or installed it. Called to have it removed as it didn't show in uninstall programs. First tech Hannah, told me it came with Adobe, ok I usually watch for add ons but might have missed it. Asked how to remove it, hang up. Called back got someone who I could hardly understand, lots of noise in the background, like the call center is a can. He hung up. Called again got Randy, had me restart the computer, remoted in, saw what I was talking about and hung up. Called back got Justin, he told me to reinstall the trial and then it should show up to delete, he then hung up.
I did not install GeekBuddy on my computer but it just one day popped up and I have been trying to uninstall it for months. All it does is give you popups on the side of your screen with "critical issues" that are completely inexistent and annoying. Once i went to my programs to uninstall it removed the file from my computer but the program was still running. While writing this review, GeekBuddy popped up four times. I am warning you STAY AWAY!
Geek Buddy used to be excellent but now, the first thing they try and do is sell you another product, if you say you don't need it and are already covered, you then get dead responses from the Geek buddy technician.
Its horrendous, and even thought I find Comodo to be a great product, I will NOT be renewing even though I have been with them for over four years.
This stinks stop popping up on my computer screen or im really gonna complain im gonna go crazy dont use this i tryed it after it keeped bothering me and it gave my computer a virus you know how much money i spend to get it fixed im never getting that money back im 11 and i have to pay my mom back $650.98 cents i have the recept so they can come and get me
Geek buddy is fantastic... I will never run a computer without it. I am afraid of letting the secret out because it may effect the incredible service they offer but most important DELIVER.
WALTER SILVA... PEORIA, az
They asked if I needed help, I was honest upfront to safe them time that I am on disability and can not afford to purchase but if they are offering free one time fix fine. 1st guy said no problem let me have you talk to 2nd guy. So this guy asked when computer started to have issues and I said today when Firefox booted up and then there site and I would like to have it taken off. He said do you mind approving me linking in to your computer. I was concerned so I did see on line company was real but I should have read reviews first. So he comes back said yes you have problems and for $$$$ we can help. I was like hello I told you guys I don't have $$. So here I let him look into my computer and he wasted his time and mine. Now making my faith in people less than before. So please be wear. I think they might be in with fire fox. I am just very disappointed, oh yeah told him I was going to do this review so he went in to my computer once more and did some crazy stuff, so I am spending hours trying to clean up.
RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE.RIP-OFF JUST LIE AFTER LIE. NOT IN THIS COUNTRY NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.
THIS STUPID GEEKBUDDY THING IS NOTHING BUT A VIRUS IT SOMETIMES GETS DOWNLOADED RANDOMLY ONTO YOUR COMPUTER AND YOUR COMPUTER SLOWS DOWN THIS STUPID PROGRAM IS NOTHING BUT A LIE THE PEOPLE YOU CHAT WITH DONT EVEN HELP SO I SWEARED AT THEM THEY CANT FIX ANYTHING AT ALL
All geekbuddy did was slow down my computer. They filled my computer with viruses. Eventually I asked my freind to look at my computer, and we looked at what was causing the viruses. OVER 90% WAS GEEKBUDDY. Do NOT download this scam. They slow down your computer and blame a GOOD anti-virus, dont download. They deserve negative stars, one star is extremely generous. I HATE YOU GEEKBUDDY.
Answer: Wow! These reviews are great help! Fuck geek buddy
Answer: Hi Tyrone, Matt here, not sure about their phone number. Try googling 'geek buddy customer support phone number', would be my option. From first hand experience, don't use these guys. Like all these people who have commented on geek buddy, I wouldn't recommend these guys. They will give you a lot off pop ups saying your pc isn't protected, etc. I tried these guys fittest hand. If you let them remote access your pc, they will give you either popups about your computer not being protected or give you a blue screen of death. So please do not ring these people, otherwise have your pc infected with their software or get a Blue screen.
Answer: No Diana, I wouldn't trust these guys at all. Have you seen all these reviews with geek buddy? My recommendation is to uninstall geek buddy but if you have Comodo security premium 10 on your computer it should be fine. Though the upgrade, I've had on my laptop, I've had an issue with diagnostic scanning every time my laptop starts up. So it will be your choice either to have geek buddy on your laptop or not. As for me, I wouldn't recommend geek buddy to anyone. They could give you viruses or a blue screen of death
GeekBuddy has a rating of 1.2 stars from 85 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GeekBuddy most frequently mention pop ups, anti virus and internet security. GeekBuddy ranks 325th among Tech Support sites.
