It is over priced for the service, they ask all this personal info but don't really clean your computer. If wanting to cancel do it before your 30 days or they will not refund your money. Total scam just want your money.
I just called them for basic pricing information and was immediately asked for a ton of private information-- name?, state I reside in? What type of system I'm using? Email address?-- WTF?--- I could not get them to answer a basic question like-- what are your charges for virtual services-- I was then told by the phone rep that I needed to be placed on hold so she could see what my "specific" fees would be for my "issues"--- the only problem is that I NEVER told her what my issues were---- after 15 minutes of this game, I hung up.
I read the other reviews--- I'm outta here.
I am a generous and nice when comes to reviews but geek buddy is a price of $#*! that gives you malware and virus and gives you the most $#*!ing annoying time with god dam pop ups at random $#*!.In conclusion don't install this steaming pile $#*! I give it 0 stars out of 10. P.s. To the makers of geek buddy $#*! YOU
Btw I'm giving it one star because there's no option for giving it 10 flame piles of donkey $#*!
Hi I am Jane from New Jersey, I have been using Geek Buddy for the past 3 years and they are awesome, I have been having so many issues starts from performance to malware infections. I am techie myself but infected registries are too much for me. So I got a license of Geek Buddy from that moment technicians from Geek Buddy made it easy for me. I don't understand why some people say it is fraud, etc, etc, when you have a free security program you should know how to fix your issues, if do not know that then definitely you need to purchase a product to get a help. Who provides free security and free support? LOL. Will Norton or McAfee supports you when you use their free software of 30 day trial? They will not even listen to you. Atleast we get a good support for reasonable cost. I love Geek buddy
Don't use Geek Buddy. TRY PCProsNow.Com they're based out of Florida and have all US techs.
I would go to pcprosnow.com. That's who I use.
I installed Comodo Backup. Seemed to go OK, the program says "Install Errors" The log shows things like Checksum, Reparse, etc... I try "Repair". It says OK. Reboot again, same errors.
I go online search Help, find nothing useful. Chat GeekBuddy. Describe errors, he asks for remote... OK. Flashes a few errore from EventViewer, tells me I have ToolbarHijackers, Junk Files, Low Virtual Memory, and Errors. Suggests he can fix... for a fee.
I run CCCleaner frequently, I DO NOT TOLERATE toolbar nonsense, I had just cleaned out junk files & temps, etc... My Workstation (HP xw8600 3.33 GHz dual XEON, has 6TB of RAID and enough RAM to run SolidWorks and load the directors cut of Dune into VirtulaDub without even a hiccup...
P.S. Why am I looking at backup s'ware? Because I'm dumping Carbonite for errors they blame on VSS. But when it takes 15 minutes to backup a 29kb. Csv file I suspect that they are not being honest.
Three years after my initial subscription, and a very skeptical period, I was pleasantly surprised with the professional support I received from Geekbuddy. Well worth the money for someone like me, a busy, non-IT self employed professional. Thank your Xavier (tech). You were outstanding! You fixed an issue the support site of a leading global printer/scanner manufacturer could not fix!
Keep rocking on Geekbuddy!
I am a tax practitioner and run my own firm, with about half a dozen people working for me. We have about 10 computers installed in the office. Obviously we have had trouble time and again with one machine or the other and we have always had to send for those "trouble shooter guys" who'd appear with a grin and seek to put an end to your worries. But our worries always seemed to go on increasing. It was recently that one of my employees suggested trying out GeekBuddy. I should say that we are now in a much better position than before. We do have worries, but they have decreased in numbers and as regards gravity too. They are prompt and always available, at the click of a mouse or just a dial away. And the pricing part also seems OK for me.
Spent 12 hours on chat in the last 3 days with 6 different techs and an addition 4 hours running scans on my pc and never come close to repairing it. They will not talk to you about problem on phone they request you sign on to CHAT line and they just assign you to yet another tech to start the 4 hour ordeal all over. They have no sups. Or manager you can discuss with. Terrible service and very incompetent GEEKS and definitely not buddy's. Stay away from these guys. To bad they do not have a Negative star to rate these guys with.
Its horrible. It forced its self on my computer bringing other useless things to. False virus popups, slowing computers, the online tech people sound like robots even on the phone, its very hard to delete, if you still want a useable computer of any kind stay as far as you can.
Geekbuddy got into a conversation with me on "live" chat. They asked for permission to get access into my pc. I was going to say yes but then it hit me. I tried to delete everything that I was suspicious about and for some odd reason geekbuddy kept popping up and trying to make me talk to them. So I just said no and ended the chat. DONT TRUST THEM
Don, t have anything to do with this site. Had a guy phone me saying there was a problem with my computer, made me believe him, after giving me some random number from the computer, which i believed was some kind of security from microsoft. Needless to say, i got ript of £90. Would of been a lot more if i had more money in my account. As soon as i realised i was being scammed, i pulled the plug. Hey & guess what this guy did next, he had the cheek to phone me back four or five times & give me verbal $#*!, calling me bastard/wanker,& how i could do nothing to get my money back. If there, s really a GOD please let me run into this guy?
Like most users have said, "geekbuddy" is a total scam. I was talking to "Bruno" in a chat for a virus issue and he said there was a bunch of viruses on my PC to which my computer crashed and I now need some sort of code to get in. Thank you Bruno for "helping".
GeekBuddy erased my Old windows folder without my permission.
They erased my Norton security, I told them that I had just paid for the program (Norton security) and told me to get my money back. They did not ask me what I needed, of which I told them 3 times, I told them that my issue was win 7 downloading update and that was all. They did everything but what I needed. Now the files that I accumulated for the pass year are gone. I asked for my money to be returned to me, I am still waiting for a call. I would advise not to use them at all. Any company that did nothing, should not be paid. I believe in paying people for services rendered.
The Geek Buddies have come to the rescue repeatedly. I have it on 3 computers and they have some good programmers who will go deep into the computer to fix problems. They are available 24/7 and your Buddy will work tirelessly into the wee hours of the morning to find a solution to your problem. The only thing I want to warn about is to be sure you have time set aside when you want help. You need to be available to answer questions and to enter a password at restart.
Title pretty much says it all. And you can't uninstall it because when you go to computer settings and "uninstall program", you get a pop up saying the program is not at that location and can't be uninstalled. If you call the customer support number, there is simply denial of this issue and a customer service representative making an advertising pitch for Geekbuddy. Ignore five star reviews on this site, as these are generated by robot.
Paid good money for one year service, had them install comodo, it disappeared. Called them back, right now 3rd geek on the job. The earlier one disappeared without a word. Never get involved with them, waste of money and terrible frustration.
This a big cone all there after is your bank info they don't know a thing about computers i had to reload window its just a scam Plus another thing to watch out for is all most all downloads there linked on to them
Started getting lots of pop ups about PC issues from Comodo geek buddy. Went to live chat and asked how come the comodo already installed was telling me I was secure so why all those alarming pop ups. Within 3 chat questions he looses patience with me and tells me that "i dont get the point", that comodo fixes malware but geekbuddy wants to (me pay for) fix my "performance" issues and then the SOB unilaterally dissconnects me from chat. No way to build a business. So long comodo
Some years ago, I wasted a $99 annual "special" on GeekBuddy subscription, thinking it was to be better than the free version. It wasn't, at all.
And now, with my paid Comodo Internet Security Complete, GeekBuddy is supposed to support. It does not. I am 3 weeks in to a royal hacking of my computer now. Hours & hours wasted in many emails, live chats and telephone calls to Geek Buddy, and there is NO CONTACT from them. That's hours wasted on hold in chats and calls and no one responds. You cannot ask any simple question, even by email, and expect to get a direct and fulfilled answer from Filipino or Indian GeekBuddy.
I even tried ringing Comodo in New Jersey. No live person. All calls [particularly to GeekBuddy] have you wait over 10minutes, then recording says "you are first in line" but you may leave a message but the inbox is full. Then, "click", you are disconnected.
Comodo has left me the effects of 3 weeks in to a hacking.
Do not fall for their GeekBuddy.
Now, I must hire a local 'geek' by the hour.
Answer: Wow! These reviews are great help! Fuck geek buddy
Answer: Hi Tyrone, Matt here, not sure about their phone number. Try googling 'geek buddy customer support phone number', would be my option. From first hand experience, don't use these guys. Like all these people who have commented on geek buddy, I wouldn't recommend these guys. They will give you a lot off pop ups saying your pc isn't protected, etc. I tried these guys fittest hand. If you let them remote access your pc, they will give you either popups about your computer not being protected or give you a blue screen of death. So please do not ring these people, otherwise have your pc infected with their software or get a Blue screen.
Answer: No Diana, I wouldn't trust these guys at all. Have you seen all these reviews with geek buddy? My recommendation is to uninstall geek buddy but if you have Comodo security premium 10 on your computer it should be fine. Though the upgrade, I've had on my laptop, I've had an issue with diagnostic scanning every time my laptop starts up. So it will be your choice either to have geek buddy on your laptop or not. As for me, I wouldn't recommend geek buddy to anyone. They could give you viruses or a blue screen of death
GeekBuddy has a rating of 1.2 stars from 85 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GeekBuddy most frequently mention pop ups, anti virus and internet security. GeekBuddy ranks 325th among Tech Support sites.
