I received an offer from Gazelle for my iphone XS for $179 and accepted it online. From there, I received a box, shipped my phone in to them. From there, they sent an email saying the phone still had "find my iphone" on... it didn't... and that they were reducing the offer. Now after 5 weeks of calling, emailing, chatting, etc. they will not reply or answer the phone. SCAM business that needs to be shut down. DO NOT USE!
I wish I could give ZERO STARS…. On 6/27/2022, I sent my "like new" Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G 128GB, Gazelle gave me an estimated trade in value of $351. They received the phone and I noticed looking on their online platform that they changed my trade in to an Iphone 6 Plus, which is NOT AT ALL WHAT I SENT.
I called customer service over and over and they kept giving me the run around stating that they need to get in touch with their "WAREHOUSE."
Their customer service is the worst, every time I called them it was like it was the first time, I have spent hours and hours trying to straighten this out, and have had zero success.
Customer service told me they have no direct line to the "WAREHOUSE," but they assured this would be resolved.
A day later I get an email stating that my offer of $351 has been adjusted to $0. They stated that there was a "Model Change: You identified your gadget as a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G 128GB (Unlocked), but it is actually an Apple iPhone 6 Plus 64GB (Unlocked)." They also offered to recycle it.
I never sent them an IPhone and they are now stealing my Galaxy that I sent to them in good faith.
I had to call my provider and report my phone stolen and got the IMEI number blocked on it so they can't sell it to someone, which I suspect they already have.
Bottom line is don't become another one of their victims, don't do business with Gazelle Period, they are crooks.
They stole my phone and they will steal yours too.
I sent in my S22 Ultra for an offer of about $600 and after waiting a week I get offered $130 for a barely used phone. I took pictures of the condition of the phone before sending it out so I know the condition it was in. I requested for my phone to be sent back and I really hope they don't damage it sending it back to me. The phone was also purchased unlocked from Best Buy and now they are claiming the phone is (other) instead of unlocked. AVOID GAZELLE!
I have recommended Gazelle to all my friends and family! Super happy with the service provided, my check was received today
Thank you!
Simply put - it's a total bait and switch scam. I purposely downgraded the quality of my iPad as to not be disappointed with the amount offered. The amount offered was $157 and after three weeks I got an offer for $68 claiming the device had too many scratches. The device did not have scratches but even so it is a very big difference between what they offer before you send in the device and what they offer when they already have it. Maybe they count on you not wanting it back, but I would rather give it away.
Followup:
I received a reply to my review faster than they answer the phone! "someone will call within 24 hours" they wrote... No one called so I did 10 days later…. The person I spoke with was very nice and apologetic and offered to give me more than the original amount. At that point I thought maybe these people can redeem themselves. However, a day later I received an email quoting the same $68 they offered 10 days ago. Clearly whatever was promised on Sunday was not documented or recorded as stated. I declined the ridiculous $68 offer. Not only is it bait and switch but apparently they don't communicate with one another at all so now I assume I will be getting my iPad back but not the money the customer service representative offered me on Sunday. Safe to say I will never do business with this company again and certainly not recommend it to anyone I know.
Please don't go with this company, i sent them a brand new barely used Samsung S20 Ultra, I had the phone less than a year, never dropped it had no scratches etc. I video tape and took pictures of my phone before i sent to cover my self the offer went from $635 to $134, because they lied about the condition of my phone, i declined the offer, i received my phone back but I'm not sure if this is the same phone i sent, it has indention on the cover like the phone cover may have been switched to show the IME of the phone i sent, i'm not sure but i am definitely going to research and get it checked out, i have the box with the IME on it but i need to see if companies can change things on the phone because this doesn't look like the phone i sent them and it has dings on it that mine did not have.
GAZELLE IS A JOKE. Originally offered me 400 bucks for my device, then they purposely damaged my device and then offered me 10 dollars for it. Insane. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I recently received an off for my phone from Gazelle of $371 for my Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, the phone was 1 month old and in excellent condition since it was placed in a protective case since day 1. The phone was never dropped and had not damage or scratches. We switched carriers and received new phones so we no longer needed this one. Gazelle received the phone and sent me an email stating my offer had been alerted as the phone had surface scratches(?). $171 was the new offer! I requested Gazelle return my phone as I fell they bait and switch their potential customers, thinking that most will just say what the hell and take the new offer. I find it interesting that I found a Used phone, on Gazelle's web site, same as our model on sale (used) for $668! I would recommend you avoid using this company when trying to trade in a device, explore other options.
I sent my iPad 7TH generation to them, barely used and only had a few scratches on it. They offered me $136 originally but then I get an email saying that they adjusted the offer to $12.36 because something is wrong with the LED Screen which is a lie. That was my iPad when I sent it, I don't see any LED issues. Beware a bunch of scammers and don't use this company.
I was offered $247.00 in the form of an Amazon gift card for my Ipad Pro 1st generation 12.9" device. It was in near perfect condition, in which the only issue was that the battery was old. This was mentioned in my submission, which resulted in the total mentioned. Well, it seems that I should have visited this site and BBB first, because just like other people here, they sent me an email stating that they lowered it to a whole whopping $9.00 dollars for discoloration of the screen that did not light up fully. I know for a fact this device didn't have that issue, as I had it looked at in an actual Apple store beforehand to get their trade in value. I decided to go with Gazelle because their price was far better, (at the time), but that doesn't discount the fact that it was already seen as great condition prior.
I feel like this company depends on a bait and switch tactic with all customers, by giving an amazing price to out compete everyone else, before pulling the rug from under them with a huge discounted offer while lying about damage. Just look at these other reviews.
Anyway, I was contacted by a gentleman and was told it would be reinspected. I was also that the price would be discussed because he agreed that was way too low of a reduction. Well, he called back and I missed it due to being at work, so I called the number back and was stuck on hold for an hour before someone picked up and told me he would let him know to contact me, and that I should receive a call back within a couple hours. Well, its going on a week now and there's been no communication whatsoever. It was also reinspected, but now they ADDED something else, so I had it reinspected again and got a reply within the hour with ANOTHER NEW ISSUE that was added, keeping it at $9.00! At this point I'm pretty sure they're just waiting for me to give up and take the money or return, but sorry, not gonna happen until I get a REAL resolution.
This place is a scam, avoid it. I don't believe I will be using this company again. I have also reported this to BBB.
I sent in a apple iPad Air 3 That was in good condition. After selecting the appropriate condition box they said they would give me 247 dollars. I sent it in the next day. It took two days to get to them but five days to process it! Then they emailed saying all kinds of things were wrong with it and wanted to give me 34 dollars. I told them no and they shipped it back. They never returned the original Apple box that I sent it in. When I asked they simply told me they recycled it and sorry. I sent the iPad into itsworthmore.com and they had no problem giving me 200 dollars for the same iPad that Gazelle said had all these issues (btw, it had no issues).
I feel Gazelle is not honest and is taking advantage of people. I guess they just expect people to go along with it because they already shipped their electronics to them. And customer service is not helpful. The lady that answered my call had a bunch of screaming children in the background and was less than a helpful or sympathetic to me. I really feel I got burned trusting Gazelle and am writing this to hopefully prevent others from getting taken advantage of.
I wanted to sell my Iphone 13 Pro to them. They offered me $704. I shipped it to them... they claim they received an EMPTY box. This means: 1) UPS stole it, 2) Gizmogo stole it.
Here's the best part: They only insure packages up to $100... regardless of the value of the phone. I was told I would only be paid $100 for a phone they promised to pay $704.
Absolute criminal frauds.
My order has been cancelled by Gazelle and they never paid me back! They wrote it's refunded but never did it. Stay away from Gazelle! They stole your money.
I sent them my 2021 iPad Pro 3 weeks ago and I have yet to get a trade-in payment. Stay away from them! Klymen is preferred!
Galaxy phone
I ordered a Galaxy S20 512gb phone from the company. Their website said the phone is available. I did not get the confirmation of my order for 3 days so I called them. The representative said they are out of the phone but they have exactly same phone in different color. I specifically asked him whether the phone is 512 gb and he said yes. So I accepted the similar phone of different color. I received the phone of different color, spent 3 hours to transfer the apps, data and activate the phone and then I find out the phone is 128 gb instead of 512 gb. I called Gazelle. They offered $ 70 rebate or return the phone. My request was send me the phone I ordered and you promised to deliver. They said $ 70 or return the phone. Take it or leave it. Not a good experience.
DO NOT SELL THEM ANYTHING! I sent in my locked Verizon Samsung galaxy S20FE 5g 128gb. It was in dam near perfect condition with slight minor scuffs on the sides of the phone. The screen was in perfect condition and it worked like new! They stated I sent them a Samsung s20+ 515gb. They stated it had more scratches on it then I originally stated and then declined my offer entirely! When I called to talk to someone about sending it back to me via overnight and told them I had pictures of how it looked when I sent it in and even had a chat conversation about how they had only sent one piece of foam to protect it during shipping, the guy on the other line HUNG UP on me before I could even tell him why I was calling! This was my first time doing business with gazelle and I will never do business with them again nor would I recommend them to anyone! I was curious and went back on their site and put in the phone info that they stated the phone "actually was", they offered over $300 for the phone! There's something very off about this company, they will scam you to try and get devices for free so they can turn around and sell them anyway!
Sent in my s21plus to gazelle with an offer of 487 dollars
The phone had been in a uag case since new.
After gazelle inspection new offer was 175 dollars due to large amount of scratches.
Totally not true phone was in like new condition but a 300 plus drop in value?
I sent an Ipad Pro 9.7 to Gazelle. I treat my stuff very gently. This piece has been cased since day 1. They cut the offer in half due to excessive scratching and bad pixels. This wasn't my Ipad. I accepted the offer and then the chat agent told me there was nothing further they could do because I had accepted the offer. There were only 2 options available - accept or reject. Will never do business with them again!
I purchase an IPad 11 inch 3rd generation cellular. I paid 25 dollars to over night it. They told me that I can't exchange it only return it. Never again with this company
Like others found you send in a phone and once they get it, it is a piece of junk. My phone had a hard case and glass screen protector from the very moment I got the phone. I removed them JUST before shipping and wrapped the phone in foam wrap. Now all the sudden it has numerous scratches. Then they tell me it wasn't even the model I claimed I had but their email confirmed the info I sent them. Sent them all the info from the manufacturer and at that time, it was such and such model Iphone. I rejected their offer and it will be sent back. Luckily I had no expense in this ploy.
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
