Used to quickly get a "list" of stations based on the zip code. Now all I get is a stupid map! I now have to zoom into the map and shift around to find prices. There should be an option to show a map or a list. Apparently they believe their customers are too stupid to have a choice. Looking for an alternative. There are always alternatives.
I've only used GasBuddy a couple of times. Simply because when I go to activate an offer at a certain gas station it only gives me a 0.02¢ discount. When I asked the support team about it they said that I had actually activated another gas station. I literally sent them a picture of the gas station I did activate. It's kind of frustrating that they're telling me oh you actually activated a gas station which was in an entirely different town, even though I literally sent them proof that I didn't.
The gasbuddy app is very clumsy and not intuitive at all for one thing the search function is cleared every time you enter it so if you make a mistake and enter the wrong town and City you can't edit the field and replace the data with the correct data you have to start from the very beginning and with so many States having the same town name you could inadvertently select the wrong State and have to enter the state and city again all over it's lousy. And if you're on the road and trying to save time and having this silly little obstacle makes absolutely no sense. Also the fine gas option is sometimes obscure because the drives thing stands in your way okay you don't want to do the drive thing that's your business but don't put that obstacle in the way of finding gas
They were supposed to send a card so I could use the balance I've accrued in the account. They never sent the card and I've reached out to email support numerous times with absolutely no response back. Terrible and non existent customer support.
What is the purpose of GasBuddy, if not to help motorists locate fuel centers with the best prices? Yet, if there is no actual process by which the continual posting of false information (gas prices) can be stopped and the responsible abuser(s) of the GasBuddy app (e.g. FleetZman) is held accountable, then the entire GasBuddy premise is compromised and therefore worthless as a value-driven mobile application.
We've contacted support via phone and email 13 times now, and have left 6 emails and voicemails. The phone system never goes to a live person, and forces you to leave a message. The email system only gets generic responses that don't have to do at all with the issue we are experiencing.
We just want to reach a real person. That's it. Get your act together please!
According to gasbuddy.com, the last station in Simi Valley on my way to Santa Clarita stated the price for regular is $3.55/gallon. With gas light on, I drove there, paid $30. At the pump, I see $4.55/gallon! Too late for me to drive elsewhere. But... The kicker was. I added the price... and, hours later, it still showed $3.55. Today I can't find the station on gas buddy.com.
Gasbuddy listed prices are 99% of the time wrong. I never saved money following gasbuddy listed price. EVERYTIME Gasbudy listed price says it's the lowest ends up being on average. 30 cents higher than listed. You're better off sticking to the gas stations you know.
If gasbuddy. Com actually made people use the app instead of posting on the web it would be much better. Currently people are posting prices on the web without ever leaving their home. The price they post is at best their best guess. If I were you, I would try any other place than gasbuddy. If you need assistance good luck getting help. Read on the web what others have to say abiut gasbuddy.
I have relied on Gas Buddy to provide me with, in the past, outstanding and accurate gas price information. Since the new upgrade in Sept 2016, Gas Buddy is no longer a use full tool. They have removed "favorites", they have removed "Costco" and the "font is now too small" it is impossible to read in the car.
I am now looking to replace Gas Buddy.
There is on old saying, "if it is not broken, don't fix it". Gas buddy has to learn that. The old app worked perfectly and did not require a major overhaul.
Whoever came up with the idea to change the old website must have had to much time on their hands. The new site is clunky, hard to navigate and lacks some of the features I liked in the old site. Was this somebodies job justification project or what?
GasBuddy shows $4.23 / gallon at the Riverwoods gas station on Knott Rd, but that is NOT correct. When I drove there specifically due to the price, I found out that it was actually $4.59 / gallon. The gas attendant said, "GasBuddy needs to update and correct what they're posting."
They reduced the number of points you can get and lessen your chances at winning free gas
The new changes have the site freezing daily
The contests aren't very much fun anymore
No one responds to your inquiries anymore. I have one station that has diesel but they never listen so I always have to add it and one station that was torn down kept getting gasoline prices!
The ads are terrible
You have to search for the x to close them
The design makes going back a page very difficult
All in all they have ruined a fun and useful app
I went to a gas station because gasbuddy had it listed there with a good price. When I got there, the gas was much more expensive, so I tried to put in the correct price, but the app wouldn't accept it. I "thought I'd try out the "right price" icon just for curiosity sake, and the app immediately accepted it! Talk about a scam; once I inadvertently confirmed the WRONG price, it was impossible to change it! Such a scam; obviously the gas companies and gasbuddy are colluding.
I too, am a longtime user of the GasBuddy website and App, and I am beyond disappointed with the new site and App. It is constantly down, and now forces users of the App to watch video ads. What next?
GasBuddy has lost its way... it started as a site whereas users helped users and has sold out to corporate greed where it now takes advantage of its users to enrich only itself.
Don't waste your time.
Gas prices on the app are totally different than at the gas stations, sometimes you drive to the stations thanking us cheaper and is not, it doesn't get updated often enough and allows people who don't like stations to purposely put the wrong price on the app. Don't waste your time or gas with this app.
Updates to the mobile app have consistently made it crash randomly and more often than ever. Several years ago they eliminated member messaging, which has lead to less accurate price posting, and at times, outright fraudulent posting. In the early days, fraudsters were called out by other users, and banned by moderators. The pay with GasBuddy feature is a joke- you can do better by using any credit card that gives cash back on purchases (ex.: Discover). On top of all of that, the app is a personal data harvesting machine, rated by Wirecutter as a "privacy nightmare"... https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/blog/ways-to-find-cheapest-gas/
The big winners on the Worldwide Web have all become what they are today by embracing the participatory and social aspect of Web 2.0, and by creating a virtual community around their content. The geniuses at GasBuddy are going in the opposite direction, eliminating socialization on their site. This is an odd choice for a site that depends on the voluntary work of its users to generate the data (current fuel prices) that is the basic reason for the site's existence. Unfortunately, as the socialization on the site has been slowly eliminated, the accuracy and timeliness of price reporting has also declined.
I made a special trip just to learn the gas price on Gas Buddy was incorrect. Also when using Gas Buddy with Kroger Fuel Points the $75 daily or $300 weekly limit includes the total before Kroger Fuel Points are subtracted. I had $1.00 per gallon discount with Kroger Fuel Points but the pump shut down when I reached the daily limit. I could have put 7 more gallons in and saved $7 more but ended up with an unfilled tank and loss of Kroger Points. The usual $. 05+- per gallon using Gas Buddy is not worth the hassle and potential loss of Kroger Fuel Points an a partially filled tank.
I entered my back account information to activate my Gasbuddy Card. Two days later the MICRO DEPOSITS appeared in my checking account. When I entered them into the app to verify them it told me the amounts were incorrect. I called right at 9am EST and was on hold two hours, then disconnected. I repeated this for 5 business days. Same 2 hour hold, then a disconnection. I sent an electronic request thru the app after the second day and it ha been 5 weeks. This company s a joke.
Today we stopped by the Esso in Black Diamond Alberta.
Wow! You can certainly tell it's under New Management. The store is now bright and clean and oh my... you HAVE to try their chicken and fries... Look out KFC they have got you beat by a mile!
I would drive from Okotoks to grab that for dinner anyday!
The selections looked fresh and plentiful and the staff there were cheerful and very helpful.

Answer: Nobody I know has ever won. I have been a member over 9 years and I've never won. I entered 103,000 points, 103 tickets, all at once the day after St. Patrick's Day and I didn't win. So the short answer is someone must be winning these things, but you probably have better odds with a lottery scratcher. I also find it strange that often times the winners are brand new to the website with low point totals and often stop using the website after they win, kinda strange.
Answer: I see lots of people here reporting issues using GB, but my wife and I have had nothing but good luck using it all up and down the east cost. No false charges, not wrong prices, etc. we try and faithfully confirm or correct any prices off, but that rarely happens and is only a couple cents here and there when it does. Happy user here! YMMV
Answer: I just used it for the first time and I guess I didn't read enough of the fine print. I was expecting to see the price drop at the pump, but instead I needed up paying full retail price at the pump and I guess the savings is supposed to come off the back end when it hits my bank. Not sure, but I can tell you this, that was my first and last time using the card. I would rather see my savings immediately at the pump than have to wait to hopefully see them show up in my bank account. Ill just continue to use my loyalty cards. I hope this helps!
Answer: I cannot currently imagine as to why the rating is so low. My experience has been perfect in South Florida so far. GasBuddy is always accurate, works great on my android smartphone, links up well with turn by turn audible directions to the cheapest gas station. Therefore I rated this app 5 stars and I never do this unless it always makes my life easier to manage day to day.
GasBuddy has a rating of 1.3 stars from 373 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GasBuddy most frequently mention customer service, bank account and credit card. GasBuddy ranks 2261st among Autos sites.
