The store is cool, but now that I can download games it kind of makes it irrelevant.
No problems, been buying from them for years. Shipping is fast. No tricks, or hidden charges.
So I went to my local store to purchase an A/C adapter for my Wii. They have to order it and it arrives the following day. GREAT!
It is close to Christmas and I decide to visit gamestop.com to make a purchase of a "Blast from the past Wii bundle for my daughter. Order #**************... proceed to checkout,,,,,,, receive confirmation email... I think "GREAT" again... WRONG!
I later receive an email that my order cannot be processed because my debit card had been declined... WHAT!? So I call my bank to verify that there are funds to cover the purchase and... YES there are sufficient plus to cover the purchase. I call customer service and after being on hold for 40 minutes I speak to someone who cannot speak plain and I can understand about 2 word of every other sentence he speaks. What I am told over and over again is to call my bank to verify the funds and then they will process the order again... I repeated to this person over and over that I had done this already and after becoming frustrated with hearing yet again to "call my financial institution and verify my funds"... I hang up the phone. Meanwhile I get back into my email to find a new message "ORDER CANCELLED." At the time I read this I am LIVID!
I calm myself and revisit gamestop.com to find now the "Bundle" is not available online...
OKAY... So I purchase just the refurbished console and proceed to checkout... reenter my card info... hit the "SUBMIT" button... it says "One or more items have been deleted due to availability."@#%^! There are no words to explain the explitive that I would like to use at this point,
Dear gamestop.com,
If you do NOT have an item available... DO NOT OFFER IT ONLINE OR OFFER IT FOR SALE AT ALL!
Pretty good video game products. The return kind of sucks, but the selections are great.
I ordered a game from Amazon, and after a month delay in the release; they quoted me a release date over a week after the stated launch day for the game. That was unacceptable to me, so I canceled my preorder, and went looking for another game store that could help me get the game on time.
I found GameStop, and was assured that they had the game available, and it would be released and shipped on time. That if I had it delivered from the local store, id likely get it the next day.
So I placed the order.
The day came, and they said they had shipped it. I went looking online to confirm it, but the shipping company said they had not received it. Only the pre-shippment info. I ordered it from an Oregon store. They were trying to ship it from Texas!
When I contacted them complaining of the lie, and the attempt to ship from Texas, they gave me the run around. When I tried to cancel it, so I could just download it without the bonus; they refused. Saying it would take 48 hours for any attempt. And it wasn't guaranteed even then.
I told them they would lose my buisness if it was not in the mail as they claimed, and here when quoted. Even warned them I would leave negative reviews of they failed to uphold their end of the agreement. It was neither. They still gave me the run around. When I tried to remedy the issue, I was transferred to several different people. One for each attempted email. Each giving me the run around. Even though I told them delays, lies, and excuses would not be accepted.
As it stands the game will be over a week late. And I have had it with their lies and run around.
If you have anything thats time sensitive, or you need decent costumer service, avoid GameStop. They do not respect their customers, or their customers time.
They will give you the run around, hold your money hostage, lie to you about it, and tell you to have a great day.
They are a disgrace to what good game stores use to be. Shame on them!
I'm never ordering from them again. I'd suggest for your own sanity, and wellbeing that you look elsewhere too.
Don't get me wrong plenty of products to choose from, but be prepared to be raped by the trade ins.
I love to use this site, i mostly buy games, play until my satisfaction and then sold back to them.
This store has a great selection of games, plenty of things to choose from.
Everyone is very nice and very helpful.
I would recommend anyone to this company.
Awesome place to visit and browse and buy or rent from... great store
Not many games for PC's they are more for playstation, xbox ect.
Great place to come to, wide variety of games. Downside gets pricey.
Pretty good games, prices and the shipping speed is good also their selection of games are nice
They rip you off on game buy backs, better off selling online
They used to be the scene to grab games, but have fallen off the last ten years
You can get games cheaper elsewhere, the rip you off if you want to sell or trade in your games.
Shop here when I don't want to wait and esp when I need some knowledgeable help!
If you haven't been you should. There are locations everywhere.
