My experience with Freelancer is overall very positive. It has been my main income source for over 4 years. Helped me a lot to improve my skills, working habits, provided financial security and so on.
But, I have noticed that getting job is harder and harder, even for me who was building up reputation several years. Not very satisfied with bidding system, not happy how clients are seeing proposals (only couple per page which is not fair for the majority).
I would like for this platform to be more friendly towards all workers, not only top 10 who are placing bids and usually are companies, not individuals. More chances for all people despite their ranking. I wish that everybody can find his own place and have income. This way it is easy for the ones on the top, and a true struggle for beginners, even though they might be as competent for the work, if not more than the top freelancers.
Make it more user friendly, simplify design so clients can easier find what they need, make longer list of freelancers display on their page when they need some work, not just few as it is the case at the moment.
My Experience with Freelancer Team and all Preferred Freelancer is perfect and excellent. They are always available, available to help and do everything they can to help you in this business.
I have been using freelancer for last 2 years. And earned about $8000 in 2 years. It's great platform for earning. Even I am not using any other platform like upwork because of this. Thanks
As I've been working for short time on this website, it has a lot of opportunity for jobs. Why is my rating only 4 stars, it's because of high fees and so many fake projects which usually beginners fell of on those frauds. The great thing about freelancer.com is security and community.
I have been working at freelancer.com since last 7 years still yet, Really, I am proud to be a part of #Freelancer
When I started climbing the ladder in Graphic design field I started to notice that some of the recruiters really DO care about the freelancers. Especially the new one. They can really recognize the talent and effort I make.
Preferred Freelancer Program changed my life and gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent easier. Thanks to some regular recruiters I've reached my potential and still improving!
I have some problem with payment today, i chatted with support member team, Jessica B was very helpful, She was kindliness, I recommend her. Thanks
Its been a year working on freelancer.com as a freelancer and i earned a lot from here. I always recommend new freelancers to come and join freelancer.com as there is no such portal like this for freelancing. Always timely payments, never saw the website down because of server issues and i always found very nice clientele here. Hope i will be working here for decades.
Really journey is awesome with freelancer :) some up and down came but it is part of life and work but at the end very happy to work over freelancer have complete more than 240+ projects. Everything is amazing
Hey, so far, less then a year with you active on your platform, it was really amazing experience, so far me and my family living from my work on this platform, I met great people, some of them are my permanent customers. I also got a few friends who's started on this platform after i told them my experience with the freelancer site. So far, i got few of the jobs offer but refused them since this exactly what i want. Keep up to make this platform even better. :) 5+++
More than 3 years of active work with Freelancer. All is good! One little moment. Not a very convenient form for sending bids now.
I'd love to rate David with a 5 star ratting as he is the best freelancer staff member and recruiter connecting us accurately with the jobs.
People in my country with college degrees and full time jobs are not earning as much as I am working part time on projects that are posted on this website as a freelancer. I'm glad I invested my time and effort in building my reputation. It payed off very well.
Really happy to work with clients from freelancer. Great Working place. No problems to withdraw funds.
Freelancer.com is a wonderful platform with tremendous opportunities every minute. Exceptional user experience and support team helps individuals, small and large companies get their projects completed on time and budget. Highly recommended for employers who are seeking freelancers to complete their project with utmost attention to detail and still be in budget.
Too many times I've had my money 'Stolen' from me because employers go to their bank and do a chargeback on their card, saying they never paid for the service. Freelancer actually takes this money that I've earned, and returns it to the employer. There is no protection for the workers on the site.
When questioned about this, and having proof that this was a fraudulent attempt to return clients money after receiving work done, the team did nothing in the way of contacting the bank to tell them it was legitimate, but also wouldn't provide me any information to follow it up myself.
On top of this, constant crashes, a poor chat system and shady rules make this an overall bad experience
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, but there is only a select few sites that offer the kind of work for people getting into the field that it is a necessary evil to begin with, if you don; t have the capital behind you to bypass this system.
It was a great experience, I got a lot of projects because of this program. And they really help both employers and freelancers.
I was experiencing an issue with the membership. Thought it renew this 10th of february and it actually renewed last month, and I had a commitment for a full year, I wanted to get a downgrade (I wasn't using the entire benefits of that actual plan) and the support was very helpful, they approved my downgrade and gave me an excellent deal with the prepaid anual plan. And I'm quite happy now, thanks!
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
