Freelancer.com offers a new and great way of working. To me it is a world of opportunities. Very competitive of course but it is the best opportunity to work without limits.
Commission rates are fair and support is unique.
Freelancer saves my life... I love Freelancer!
This is the most advanced platform available for finding the right provider to deal with. The types of service available are actually much more than just development/design but also include location based services. I highly recommend dealing with freelancer.com for finding the right person or team that will meet or surpass the level of service you would find satisfactory.
Its a great platform for people like me, who want to be their own boss and work with freedom. This site is my bread n butter. Do i need to say more? :)

"As the title says"
There are a lot of reviews of many websites regarding freelancer.com that it is a complete scam thing it takes your money etc.
Trust me, it is a platform from where I started my earning and in just 11 months I am in a really good position now. Never had even a single bad experience with freelancer.com.
This is not a scam or a place where website cheats. (Employers can cheat if you don't know what milestone system is.)
They don't steal/block your money. (A common negative review on the internet)
Read their guidelines, follow them and you'll never find issue working on this website. (It's not hard)
TBH, this website is a major source of earning in my house from last 11 months. So, the experience on this website is awesome. :)
What is going on with Freelancer? It really seems the longer I am with this site the harder it becomes for me to find work. I'll elaborate.
1) My biggest issue recently; the new bid proposal system. Literally this system is the worst change I have seen to Freelancer since I have been with the site. Why is it I am only allowed to type about 2 sentences for my proposal for complex projects like webscraping where every site and the challenges it presents are different?
It is becoming literally impossible for me to stand out from anyone else because all I can put is "I am an expert in webscraping blah blah". I can't elaborate on how I would accomplish the project or tackle its challenges or why my work would be superior/unique. Please for the love of god revert this system.
2) The changes to chat have the made the site a LOT slower. Everytime I load up a page it reloads all my chats and the javascript takes forever to complete in addition to the actual chat boxes lagging when I try to type. This makes it take longer for me to scan the site for projects and place bids and reduces my overall efficiency.
3) The new bid sponsor system is terrible and I never use it because now it costs me $30 to sponsor a bid when it used to cost a few dollars. This is money I DO NOT get back if I am not awarded the project so why would I risk 10% or more of the actual project payout in an attempt to stand out.
4) Why am I charged when I deposit funds into my Freelancer account when I am also charged a high % on milestones I am paid?
Honestly I don't know if its greed or a need to change for the sake of change but so much of what has been done in the past year has hindered my success as a Freelancer with the site rather than help it.
I am thankful for the Preferred Freelancer program but everything else that has been done is awful and might look nice on the surface but does not help the actual Freelancer at all which is surprising considering the sites name.
One simple change I can think of that would be amazing is let Preferred Freelancers initiate chats with employers. None of us are going to spam the employer we would simply say "Hello I am X and I am very interested in your project. Here is how I would complete it to your satisfaction, etc".
Make Freelancer Great Again.
I have lost more than $5000 on this site already this was not a good experience. I don't even have the work at all. I don't even know what to do now. Worst case I can't even complain about them publically because if I do they will remove me from the network without solving anything. They have done that many times before the web forums and reviews are filled with them. Best to use some other network or search for companies yourselves.
Pearl replied quickly, provided required info with details, its been always great, thanks...

Freelancer.com provides opportunities for a lot of people who want to earn some extra revenue. Whether you are a job seeker or an employer, Freelancer also makes sure your hard work and money are safe. The site is pretty fair to all its users and is very well regulated. Been using it for a year and never encountered any issue whatsoever! The support team is great (I've been in contact with them every now and then for questions). Kudos Freelancer and Thank you!
Its been pleasure to work on freelancer.com. I have earned money for what I have done for the employers over here. I suggest this platform for everyone who love to stay at home and have potential to work for others. It is a good fit for everyone and for people from many different trades.

Awesome. It was nice for get the project. For meet with client about the project details it was really helpful.
Last some years I have use freelancer. Very easy user interface and contract communication. They gave also use a high quality app. Overall this is a great site.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
