FormSwift has a rating of 1.3 stars from 186 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with FormSwift most frequently mention credit card, free trial and customer service. FormSwift ranks 73rd among Legal Documents sites.
After the trial period, they charged an annual fee of $96.00 to my payment card without any prior notice. I had canceled the subscription before the trial period ended, yet the charge was still applied. When I reached out to their support team for a refund, they refused, stating, "Due to constraints in the FormSwift Terms of Service, we are unable to issue a refund for the following transaction." This is unacceptable—an outright deceptive practice to exploit customers under the guise of a trial period. Also, they do not send any confirmation on activation or cancellation or no email reminders on the trial periods.
Charged my bank account without my authorization. Wished I researched these reviews before getting snookered. Hopefully my credit card company will not pay the bill. I thought there were laws to put scammers like this in jail. If I lived in CA we would meet in court. With thousands of complaints at the BBB you would think the California Consumer people would jail these crooks.
I have been being billed for months for a subscription I canceled on 3/10/24. They have escalated my case supposedly but refuse to give me any answers, any contact info for the escalation team or a supervisor. What kind of company works like that. I still have not heard from anyone and probably never will. I had to block it from being billed to me to get it to stop.
Used form
Once on a 7 day trial and then they charged my card without my permission and didn't want to refund me money. Use any company but this one. Highly shady business practices. Why don't you try asking if I want an entire month before charging my my card? Oh because you like to take what's not yours. Great example there. Just go ahead and take the food out of my fridge then tell me to look section codes. Very nice!
Holy crap! Watch your credit card - they will take your money even if you only want the free document or in my case the $2.00 lease agreement! And then they will quote the "tiny print", Per the terms of agreement you signed - all for $37.00 monthly charge. And I didn't use any of their forms. I wonder if they are US based company since they resort to trickery for a measly $37.00. It's the point - legitimate companies don't have to do business like this! Buyer BEWARE!
FormSwift is a Dropbox company. You would think that e-filing 1099-NEC for vendors would be pretty straightforward. NO! I fill out the forms and press the button to e-file, and an error comes up. Call customer support, but no one can help. It goes to the advance team, no help. I would steer clear of this product as it will take hours, if not days, of your time to deal with customer/tech support. Nothing has been resolved yet, but I have wasted 5 full hours of my time.
This site does not say that a subscription is required until you've already edited your document. Then, surprise! Buy a subscription and get your 30 days "free". It's a scam. There are free PDF editors that don't require any subscription, and they're far superior to FormSwift. This is a dishonest company with an inferior product. The technical glitches are numerous. Instead of recognizing fields automatically, as some free PDF editors do, you need to click on fields and then type to populate them. The placement of the popup is not where you actually click, so you need to click around until the popup box is actually where it's needed. The signature feature is clunky and awkward to use, and it's difficult (read: nearly impossible) to resize the signature box once it is placed. I cannot recommend highly enough that you find any alternative to FormSwift. Safe yourself the frustration and time, and don't support a terrible, deceptive company.
I needed one form. They advertised the form for $1.35, so I put my credit card in, not realizing that they were actually going to charge me a monthly fee. I never used the service after the 1 form but they charged me for two consecutive months. When I was reconciling by CC statement, I realized they were charging me monthly, I called to ask for a refund of the 2 months and to definitely cancel. They cancelled, but refused to give me a refund, even after acknowledging that I never used their service ever again. BUYER BEWARE. This company is part of Dropbox, but their practices are not sound and not forthright in explaining the 'hook' Be careful! SCAM. Can not recommend.
I created a FormSwift by Dropbox account to create contracts and an employee handbook for a startup company. FormSwift claims they provide legally acceptable documents with customizable entry boxes. However, the contracts were poorly written and unacceptable to use. When I reviewed one of the contracts with a colleague, they stopped reading after page one and laughed at the poor quality. I contacted FormSwift and was informed they were not refunding the money but canceled my membership, so now I am also disappointed by their customer service. I have since paid another company and am happy with the quality of services received.
First, I will say this as far as their forms everything was great! Now to the issue, I signed up for their trial service. I requested to be notified when the trial was ended so that I could determine whether or not to continue the service. I didn't receive a reminder so in turn I ended up being charged $37.00. Asked for a reminder that was never received. To me this is fraudulent on their part. They can see the only time I used it was that 1 day. Highly disappointed in their decision to not refund my money. Never will I do business with them again! I was also told that they continue to sendy payment through even though it didn't go through the first time, greed simply greed!
Attempted to cancel membership before subscription was due and again day of and to no avail. No customer service in fact there was an email response that said issue resolved. Charge still on card. Stay away from company who refuses to cancel a membership based on a free trial. Look at bbb reviews, insane!
Don't do business with this company! After their free trial period is over and they charge you the full month for a four day trial and won't give you your money back! They send you to the website to put your phone number in to speak with a representative which then tells you that you can't get your money back after FOUR DAYS! I am now waiting on a email the representative promised will come but hasn't SMH! Please don't use this company
Formswift charged me for a monthly subscription even thought the plan was canceled never send confirmation email, and they Do Not offer refunds on anything. My account shows it doesn't have a subscription but I was still charged. Beware I will never use formswift again. They did process my 1099 form but that was all they did right.
A very basic employment document came up on a Google search advertised as free, but after wasting the time to put in name and address it asks for money to print.
Sure, they need to charge for services but then why advertise its free? Some documents are worth $20, this one is not.
The good: The site does provide an easy way to file IRS form 1099s.
The bad: To use the service you must purchase a subscription service - $1.95 for 7 days, then auto-renewing for $37/month. You must cancel the service within the 7 days. I cancelled after 1 day. Customer service assured me the subscription had been cancelled. 7 days later my card was charged $37. I notified Form Swift customer service of the charge. They claimed the subscription had been "solved" not cancelled. I requested a refund. They claimed they could not issue credit card refunds. I contacted them again. They claimed that there were now 2 different complaints, and they couldn't do anything until the two were merged into one. I contacted them again. They claimed the responses I was receiving were "auto-generated" by their computer system. After a couple more exchanges the finally did refund my charge, but what a hassle! THEIR SERVICES ARE NOT WORTH THE EFFORT!
I found two $30 charges to my credit card, and I feel cheated and angry. The single form I attempted to use didn't even work. Seems like bait and switch to me. Beware, it's NOT free; what they describe is misleading. I recommend giving your $'s to a more honest and forthcoming business. FormSwift is essentially a skillful, lying, pick pocket thief.
You are automatically billed each month without notification or any communication. Apparently I was paying $450 a year for a service I used once. When I complained, they offered to pay a refund for the last two months. Sad business practices
Caution: FormSwift is a dangerous website that misleads users. The link said it was free, but the real options include $1.67? For 7 days. Other reports of overcharging credit cards sound likely. Stay away.
In a google search, this company comes up with the first hit. The title says 100% free. I completed the online forms and then before it would print, they wanted to charge me. Bait and switch at its finest.
I used the service last March. I thought I paid 29.00 for one month, instead they kept changing my credit card 29.00 for 9 months without me knowing. Awful, deceitful and dishonest. Stay way from these crouch who wants to get rich overnight!
Answer: No. After I agreed to pay $1.95 for one day's use, I filled out the 1099 form and printed it. The form says its just a 1099 information for and warned you cannot submit it to the IRS or you will be charged penalties. I looked up the IRS regs and you can only submit a 1099 form to the IRS that you order from the IRS. FormSwift's 1099 information form is worthless so selling it as if it was the real IRS 1099 form is a scam. Worse, I only agreed to pay $1.95 but FormSwift charged my credit card $39.00. I disputed the charge today with my credit card company who gave me a $39.00 credit it says is permanent. It was a complete rip-off.
Answer: Min cost is $1.95 and goes up from there. No free services are offered in spite of advertised as free.
Answer: Would not convert to Word. Only offered pdf format.
Answer: I used the privacy app so they won't have a chance to charge me again.
