I used to be a very Happy fitbit customer, but a recent update to the Fitbit App dashboard has changed that. The updated app had dull colors, and most of the useful information Fitbit users were used to has disappeared. Percentage of battery life that was previously available on the dashboard, gone. Details of sleep, gone, challenges, gone. Unless Google makes this right for the Fitbit users, I will be looking for a different tracker

Do not buy a Fitbit!
October 20, 2018

Do not buy a Fitbit! I repeat, do not buy a Fitbit! You have been warned! Bought a Charge HR a while ago, strap bubbled up and cane away from the unit, Fitbit acknowledged this was a design problem and replaced the unit with a new one - same problem with the replacement so clearly an inherent design fault, they refused to replace again due to the original one being out of warranty! Remarkable. A series of bland and obviously corporate replies to my ensls basically saying, tough, it's outside warranty so over to you. Ridiculous, pathetic, poor customer service, can not be trusted. Now bought another brand and telling everyone to avoid this dreadful company..

I've used Fitbit for years. I'm tempted to ask my husband for the new Fitbit Charge 5 for Christmas, but I have reservations. None of the Fitbits I've owned last more than a year or so. The only way to get a warranty is if you order from their website. But that warranty only lasts one year, which is set of their planned obsolescence. I can't leave a review on their website so I'm thinking I'll pass on the Fitbit 5. Customer service is lacking at best.

No help
September 28, 2021

Been using my Fitbit watch and app since March. Suddenly yesterday I had to log in to use the app. I tried logging but was told to check my password. I changed my password twice to make sure I was correct. It continued to tell me to check my password even after I changed it. Just got off the phone with customer service(what a joke). He had me had me change my password two more times and it still did not work. He then informed me that he would have to escalate my problem to a higher group. He told me to keep checking my email for further instructions. It could take 1-3 days to get the email. How can a technology company in this day and age to so slow. Their customer service sucks.

FitBit devices are NOT worth buying, lasting less than 3 years.
To spend this much money and have FitBit's only technical solution to a product bug/failure being "reset" the device and when that fails, spend you a discount coupon on your next purchase!

The updated version is awful. Looks like a cartoon and the data is no longer easy to view. I have contacted them and was told the older version is unable to be accessed. I strongly urge others to purchase a different brand if you are looking for a fitness tracker unless they find a way to return to a better version of the app!

Bad quality
February 17, 2018

I had one Charge 2 device, and 3x Charge HR. There were all very bad quality and had them replaced after less than 1 year until Fitbit stopped, saying the warranty is for the original purchase not replacement! So i
I have Charge HR for 8 months now and it's disintegrating!
I was always recommending it to people saying that even though it's bad quality the support naver make any problems replacing it. But now, I think it's not worth the money

I had my fit bit aria scale since April 2014. I called today because it stopped syncing they said the sensors went out and they could do nothing for me. They only warranty their scales for 365 days. So basically you spend over $100.00 for a disposable scale. So sad the company does not look out for their customers. I own a fit bit too. I will never buy fit bit anything again. Nor will I recommend it to others.

Worst service ever
September 21, 2017

I bought a Fitbit Surge a while back. It broke 6 months later.
I complained to the support about the faulty Fitbit and they sent me a replacement of the same model. No hassle. Great. Except it broke again, 6 months later, with the same issue.
Got a new one, broke 6 months again, same issue.

Clearly, there is an obvious Manufacturing defect with the Fitbit Surge and they have stopped selling it as a result.

When queried, they said it was because it was out of stock but when I asked for a replacement by a different (cheaper) model, the Charge 2, they said they will only replace it with the same model (Surge), implying that it is actually not out of stock at all.

When I complained of this, they said they would fix things but all that they have done it tell me that there is nothing else they can do as they already replaced the tracker. Basically they gave me another faulty tracker and hoped I would just go away.

This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life.

Through a wellness program at my employers I received a free Fitbit Inspire (yay). I upgraded to the Fitbit Inspire HR so I could swim with it. (Again, yay!) I get it. I set it up. All looks good, until... I try to read the screens. The text on the screen is TOO SMALL I think to myself, "No problem... I will just return it and upgrade to a Charge 3 or 4 which have larger screens." Customer Service (... and the supervisor) will only accept the return if I pay shipping :( This is like receiving a shirt that doesn't look like the catalog. The device may be okay and comparable to other devices on the market, however the Customer Service is poor. I probably will NOT return the device, more money down the toilet. I will just use my old Fitbit and when it dies, I will buy something else. Thanks Fitbit Customer Service. You made a NON-customer for life today. Good on you.

Worst purchase ever made! I bought my charge 4 in May and after an update in June it was ruined. It stopped receiving notifications, the time was way off, then stopped pairing to my phone. I have spoke to several CSR's and was told to wait it out for an update to fix the issues. I have called, emailed and chatted. When requesting a refund I was told several times that It was past 45 days that a refund was not an option. Although for one, I was told to wait therefore putting It past 45 days and two, this was a technical issue on their part. It is now November and no one has resolved my issue yet. So now I am stuck with a useless device losing money while this fraudulent company banks off of people buying their products that don't work after an update.

Not an honest company
February 27, 2020

It worked in the beginning but the screen got cut off then I called and I had a warranty by the time they sent me the refurbished one which don't work properly to begin with. I had to call them few times in order to fix it over the phone but neither of those times worked out and they were telling me to do the trouble shoot which it didn't help. Long story short they dragged me until the actual warranty got expired. They are not behind their product and when they say we send you the new items don't believe it's NOT new they send refurbished or used to drag you until the warranty gets expired then you need to buy the new one from them. Not reliable neither honest company.

The Fitbit Inspire HR is inaccurate. When I complained again and again, I was told that it tracks things like wrist movements while working at a computer as steps. It added hundreds of steps and lots of mileage when I was completely sedentary, like reading the paper. Fitbit refused to replace it, although it was less than 30 days old, This Fitbit is a piece of crap. Fitbit customer service sucks. I have called them, and emailed them, and get nowhere. It added over 300 steps today when I was driving my car home from an appointment. I was told by customer service that that is because driving is movement. The fitbit is supposed to be an exercise tracker. Driving my car is NOT exercise. I don't want it adding steps when I drive my car. I am returning this piece of $#*! for a refund. Don't buy it. Fitbit is dishonest and customer service is no help.

Hi there,

This is definitely not the experience that we want you to have with the Inspire HR.

Please allow us to provide assistance here. It's important to specify whether you wear the device on your dominant or non-dominant wrist as it affects the sensitivity of step counting. You can learn more by visiting this article: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1136#wrist.

With regard to driving, your device has been tested against driving and riding in buses, trains, and other public transportation and shouldn’t add steps when you’re traveling under normal conditions. On bumpy roads or in a car with a stiff transmission, your device may add some steps and you can delete them by following these instructions: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1306#steps.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. In case you'd like us to review your support case, let us have you case number so we can proceed.

Sincerely,
Fitbit Support

My very first Fitbit Charge only lasted for a year before it broke. Ok, they're a new company. So I decided to give them another shoot and received the Charge HR 2. The first watch didn't sync to any of my devices and I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service before getting a replacement. Then, the replacement would not even turn on. Then I spent another hour on the phone with customer service. What a waste of money. Fitbit is not a quality product built to last.

I actually love all of my fitbit trackers and watches, I have had many. Why can Fitbit make a charging cord that is LONGER? Their chargers are already subpar and I have to leave it on the floor with mu charging situation. Time to fix this Fitbit. Or I will finally have to move on.

The band material is defective and although they are willing to replace them for 1 yr from original purchase, they replace them with the same defective material. They are unwilling to acknowledge there is an issue and either refund or upgrade the device. I and my family have gone through 10 Charges /HR and now we will be going to a different device. They should be ashamed of their products.
