I've now owned 2 Fitbits, a Versa and a Versa 2. In both instances, the watches died shortly after the warranty expired. After the original Versa died, I figured it was just a fluke and purchased a Versa 2 which also died right after the warranty expired. Their customer service proved useless when I was told they don't repair them and they gave me an offer of a 35% discount on a new one. Guess what I told them they could do with their 35% offer.
I have been a Fitbit user for a number of years. I love my Fitbit EXCEPT that I dislike the way the band attaches. I would prefer a permanent band rather than one that is interchangeable. I have had to glue the band back on my Charge 2 twice so far. It is annoying and it also means I can't wear it for a day or so while the glue dries. Is there a Fitbit that has a permanent, non-changable band? (Joan Henderson)
I purchased a brand new Fitbit Charge 5 for $180 and I've haven't been able to use it because they don't know what's wrong with it. I received it on 9/24/21 since I preordered it and it's just a $180 paperweight. They don't even know what's wrong and it's been 4 weeks! DO NOT BUY!
I had the Charge HR for 3 months before it broke. They sent a replacement and the caller ID wouldn't show up till after the call was done. Called Fitbit and they said it was a problem with my phone. Funny how I didn't change any of the settings and the fitbit from before work just fine. Doesn't matter though, the fitbit fell apart and will not charge now. I called the warranty department for a replacement and they stated thay it was out of the 30 day replacement warranty. So how do you have a year warranty of it breaks in 3 months and the replacement only has a 30 day warranty. Don't be upset people, they will be than happy to sell you a upgraded model for 25% off and it comes with the same great 1 year warranty.
My Charge 5 has given me all sorts of trouble. Sometimes it drains a. Harge in one day. Today it is stuck on the charge face. It isn't not tracking anything. I have reinstalled it a couple times thi king that woukd help. I loved my last fit bit. I have had several different ones over the last ten years. This is the first one I truly hate. It is under a year old.
I gave my wife a FitBit Charge 3 for a gift. It did fine for about 4 months, then it wouldn't hold a charge for more than an hour. I contacted their support and got the run around. Kept telling me I wasn't charging it correctly, or doing numerous testing to no avail. I sent them screenshots to show how fast a 100% charge would run totally out. They just kept giving me the run around. They would just not seem willing to give me a RMA so I could send it in for a swap or repair. I obviously got a lemon, because my personal Charge 3 has functioned as expected continuously for over 2 years. I won't be buying anything else from them.
Bought a Fitbit charge 2 in June 2017 by September lost its charge rang Fitbit they sent a new one excellent I thought by December it went wrong wouldn't charge this time they sent a refurbished product it is now Jan 2018 and now it was syncing intermittently now it won't sync at all. Despite contacting three times and following all the stages required my case has been closed. Luckily for me I purchased on a credit card so I will now trying to get a refund with no joy at all disappointing service indeed.

I have had three fitbit altas. All three had band problems. I lost the first watch when the band came off and I didn't notice it. The second one did the same thing. The third one broke and I replace the band three times. It broke again and fitbit said they "were working on the design" I could get a replacement band. What the heck good is a replacement band -they all come off the watch! I figured I could at least wear the watch for awhile if I glued the band on. I did, it lasted two months before the watch died. My LAST fitbit. NEVER again!
After this company changed their application I am no longer able to sync my Sensor to their application despite removing and reinstalling. I am tossing my Fitbit into the trash and will be purchasing another type of tracking device. FitBit is worthless! DO NOT BUY!
I've had a Fitbit since 2018 and purchased the new Sense in 2021. I had to get the sense replaced two times, and it has now died on me for the 3rd time. I spoke to the Fitbit customer service representatives and they couldn't do anything for me but offer me a 35% discount on a brand-new one... NO WAY!
I'm not wasting my money on their garbage devices anymore. It's glitchy and lasts a year, if that.
YOu should be ashamed of your answer, typical answer of someone that did not devote a second to analyze my case. Over and over again: My fitbit when it was still under warranty had problems, the only good way to solve it when it was under warranty should have been to replace it with a newer version that did not present the mistake, that would have been the ONLY right way to fix the issue, every other fitbit of the same make and model would present the same problem, and instead of understanding this and replacing then or now, you want me to go to a different brand, then I will do so
Seriously? Fitbit customer support took over a month to say sorry we won't help you? Truth is each of the fitbits I have owned with the exception of the first one, I received as a replacement of malfunction. This time they refuse to help and offer to spend 75% on a new one that I shouldnt be buying at all. Believe me my next decvice will not be 75% of a new fitbit, it will be 100% of another brand! I give up on Fitbit, terrible service will not get me again
This is the case number 24065032, As you can see, many people have the same complaint, the correct thing to do is to replace those fitbits with ones that wont present the same problems after a few months, why would you do otherwise if fitbit is at fault here? Thanks for trying to help, I hope you help me better then what customer support offered which was make me pay 75% of the price to get a new one when I should get a replacement
I have a Charge HR, the belt is poorly designed and the company does not take responsibility
I would never recommend buying a Fitbit
I owned the FitBit Ace 3 and the strap has broken twice in eight months. I went to the FitBit site for a replacement and there are pages and pages of complaints about people's straps breaking, FitBit offering a warranty, and then refusing to replace their strap for a variety of reasons.
Well, I decided to apply for the warranty, chatted with someone live and sent them all the pictures and documentation the requested. They told me they would review my claim, ended the chat, then THREE MINUTES LATER sent me an email stating my warranty was denied. They didn't want to deal with an upset customer so they pretended to not know my warranty was denied while I was on chat with them.
They denied my warranty because they claim Amazon isn't an authorized seller and I should have bought it directly from FitBit, even though they have their official store on Amazon selling their devices!
FitBit is a horrendous company that makes garbage products and takes people's money. Avoid!
I ordered the fitbit2 as a birthday gift online. I got an email a week after it was due to be delivered saying my credit card company had not recognised their company and payment could not be made. I called my credit card company and cleared it with them then had to make 8 calls to Fitbit to try and get payment sorted. Calls were redirected to Bulgaria, India and Spain and no one could follow up in this order. In the end- cancelled my order and ordered it from Amazon. Would NEVER order from Fitbit again! NOT EVEN 1star customer service!
If I can give no stars I would!
Had Fitbit Charge 5 from Costco for 11 month and the device broke. They sent me replacement and that one broke after 3 weeks.
The only options you get is a replacement (currently on back order, need to wait 2 months) or purchase another model at reduced price.
HORRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE DEVICE!
Do not buy!
Shame you can't give a zero as that is all they deserve. They know there is a problem with the quality of their wristband but they tell you they don't have the colour of your wristband in stock and they offer you colours such as pink and indigo. They charge a lot of money for inferior products and will not accept the product back. DONT BUY A FIT BIT

Fitbit is a neat little device that works like a nintendo wii tracking your daily movements and then calculating your total calories burned. I tried to order one but they are currently backordered as they seem to be in high demand. They do have a partnership with google health to upload your data. Probably a cool gadget for people to track their daily activities and as a physician, I would recommend that people always take the stairs rather than the elevator so if a device like this can inspire people to get more activity into their daily life that would be a good thing. They also claim it can track sleep, and that too could be useful for people to monitor. I like this device as simply a reminder for people to get exercise and get to bed early for sleep... I hope it catches on as it serves a good purpose in promoting health.
It is true that it is not totally accurate, My first model fitbit charge mades steps when I talked with my hands and so does the Charge2, but it is a good indication of activity and inspires me to move. It tells you how much you sleep, but I don't use it all the time for that, because it turns on when I move and lights up enough to wake me up. That needs to be fixed! None of these things are perfect, but this one is the best for me.
Update: I gave my fitbit Charge to my daughter because I bought the Charge2. I don't think the Charge 2 is supposed to be waterproof, but I forgot and went snorkling for about a 1/2 hour with it on and 4 months later still working perfectly.
First, if you can get the tracker to sync with the app, it's inaccurate. It was counting "steps" before I even got out of bed in the morning. Second, I had my first FitBit Alta for 2-3 weeks and it stopped working. Just suddenly stopped syncing mid-day for no reason. The company sent me a replacement (great!) - which worked for all of two days and then the same thing: it would sync in the morning and by noon, stopped connecting to the tracker for no reason (pathetic!). NONE of the troubleshooting tips resolved the issue and Tech Support did nothing but have me repeat the troubleshooting tips I'd already tried. The company said both the original and the replacement devices were defective. When asked if anyone else had this problem, they said "it hadn't been reported." Suuure. They're now sending me a THIRD FitBit -in 4 weeks- and supposedly escalating the issue to their engineering team. I'm not getting my hopes up that the 3rd one will work.

When the screen on my Fitbit charge 3 went black after 27 months, I looked online to see that it was an issue dating back to when it was first released. Fitbit has offer a discount on a new item, but limited to a luxe or inspire 2 which both have several reported issues. Customer service does not exist for this company. If you call and ask that you speak to some above the first person you speak to, no one is available, they have no idea when someone will contact you, and can't give you a maximum time frame. I sent an email, and called again. It has been three days and no one has reached out to acknowledge me. They do not seam to have any policies on how long they can ignore a customer. I'm told you cannot speak to any one, all communication is by email which is their policy, but no idea how long they have to reply. It could be a few hours or a few? Weeks, months, year I guess. 35% off a product that they haven't been able to sell and has several unrepaired bugs is not a deal. Stay away from this company and buy a better product for less.
Ordered a fit bit on cyber Monday at 10:37pm with 2 day expedited shipping. Received it a week later, 2 days after my wife's birthday. Called customer service, "Eduardo. M and the Fitbit Team". They tell me I placed my order on Tuesday 7:37pm and that it takes 2 days from order to ship. I provided their own confo email showing Monday's order and they still refuse to except I ordered Monday. I understand Tuesday would be the order date but not 24hours after original order. I actually looked when they shipped it and it was shipped 68hours after they claim I ordered it which still makes them late sending it. Customer service sucks at this company and Eduardo and his team are condescending pr! Cks who could care less to do the right thing. Don't waste your money with this company!
FitBit has a rating of 1.3 stars from 461 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with FitBit most frequently mention customer service, apple watch and heart rate. FitBit ranks 53rd among Activity Tracker sites.
Hi Joan,
Thanks for the love!
Fitbit's older devices have non-changeable bands. We've expanded our line of accessories and that made our newer devices' band interchangeable.
To help you with your broken band, reach us at contact.fitbit.com. We'll continue assisting you from there.
