Worst refund policy and poor customer service. The chat person will disconnect from talking to you, literally hang up on you. Do not use.
Unable to complete my order after 4 times trying. The site was slow and would not let me get through the whole process.
Owned by Comcast and at&t... convenience fee. Outrageous. Enough is enough... that's why everybody wants to stream anymore
It's companies like yours
Will NEVER use them again. Once was more than enough. They are impossible to deal with. I recommend not using them.
FANDANGO puts the DANG into your online ticket buying experience. Terrible customer service. Hidden fee ($2.50), and no refunds! The worst!
I've concluded that if you write to Fandango Customer Support using their email help or their live chat assistance, your replies are not written by a human being. At best, you've got someone who doesn't understand English choosing a canned reply from a menu. I used live chat and wrote 2 different emails, and each time, I got answers that didn't match my problem in the least. But if their English is so poor that they cannot understand a clearly written question (I make a living writing for non-English speakers), why were their answers so grammatical and well-written? The answers were completely off-base and unrelated to what I asked, but still, the spelling was correct. Mighty suspicious.
What got me the most angry was waiting for more than an hour to be connected to live chat, only to get a completely inane answer--and THEN, when I was just starting to reply, they wrote, "Are you still there?" Since live chat shows that a person is typing, they had to know I was there and typing my reply. However, before I could even type Yes, they disconnected, telling me to feel free to call back any time I need further assistance.
When I tried email instead, I got an even more meaningless reply--their response simply said, "We're sorry you had to wait for a response. Please let us know if we can further assist you." That's all!
I wrote back, demanding to be escalated to a human being who can actually read and comprehend, but I know that's not likely to happen, so I'm venting here. And I won't describe all the bugs and errors I encountered on the site--no wonder their call volume is so high. They sure don't behave like a legit business!
I live in California and last night, for the first time, I decided to purchase 3 movie tickets through Fandango-- Big mistake! Although I put in the correct zip code for my California movie location, when the transaction was complete and received the tickets I relaized I haf purchased tickets for a movie theatre at 18 W. Houston St., New York, I spent an hour last night trying to get this reversed-- can only be done by openning a VIP account. Spoke to two people this AM, last one a supervisor. Complained that opening an account should be optional, not mandatory. I did anyway just to get my money back. Well, guess what? Fandango uissued a credit (for use next time), although I had clearly stated I would never use this system, instead of a refund. They try to get you anhyway they can. Beware! I've spent several hours trying to straighten this out plus much aggravation and this is not even over yet. Sad commentary on a society that is totally dominated by "techies " and their nefarious plots to cheat and make us dependent on them for the purpose of generating profits at all cost. Can't understand how so many love this system!
This has to be the worse customer service possible for a company servicing US customer. They do noot appriciate suggestion from customer. I suspect due to some company merger their departments/workers do not care about customer.
A bug was in their system. They claim they give $5 reward for every 4 tickets purchase. But what they don't tell you reward code has low priority, meaning if you have credit on your account covering cost of the tickets, the reward code cannot be used. If you have linked membership that has credit, your reward code won't work. Many of us have credit on theater membership for use on food when we go to the movies. Using Fandago forces you to use those credit toward ticket FIRST. So be aware when you redeem your reward, they have been expiring for me since I have credit on Fandango, Fandango Gift Card, and theater rewards. Most of the service person does not know about these, all they give you is I have to reach out to corporate. And you will get contridicting answers during the Fandango Vudo merger, you don't know who you will reach, and they are as confused themselves. All in all, they will not do anything to fix this or help customer get the credit back.
I contacted with the company for over 4 months. They are very inefficient.
There are too many back and forth with multiple rep. And sometimes Vudo sometimes Fandango team would responds. Few time asked me to call which I did from day one. Most call cannot reach a human, when I did, they just give you canned message, will report to corporate without anyone calling me back.
DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS THROUGH FANDANGO! I am not one to write reviews but felt the need to in this case. Now I realize why their ratings are 1 star. Worst customer service experience ever.
Talked to manager to return money or exchange. She started yelling at me saying it's my fault I was late
I AM ASKING FOR A REFUND FOR TICKETS I NEVER RECEIVED. It should be simple. I purchased 2 tickets through Fandango. I did not receive the confirmation email or text. The alternate plan described on the Fandango website is to show up at the theater and present the credit card used to make the purchase. I did this and the theater said the purchase did not show up. The theater employee told me this method only works 50% of the time. The phone number, 1-800-FANDANGO is defunct. I have been calling it for days and getting an automated response that they're having trouble with the number. I found another number on Better Business Bureau when I filed a complaint and that number is also defunct. The website makes requesting a refund near impossible. I am currently attempting to reach a customer service rep through "Fandango Customer Support Team" and have been waiting well over 3 hours. I believe Fandango intentionally makes this a difficult process to discourage people from persisting in their legitimate requests for refunds. I WILL NEVER USE FANDANGO AGAIN AND ADVISE ANYONE AGAINST IT...***ZERO STARS***
I tried to use one of their gift cards and got nowhere. The card is useless. They need reporting to the F. T. A. & Consumer Protection.
Fandango is cool, but I still had to wait in line. Not fandango's fault! AMC just needs to pair up with fandango better. Overall a good company!
I finally got a response and correction to my code. They even sent extra amount on the code. Thanks!
I have made over 4 calls, 13 emails and 5 online support calls and 2 months later I am still waiting for corporate office to help. Support has escalated the request 5 times and they have made the issue worse. I give up.
Just scratched off a gift card and it says invalid. Bull$#*!. Waste of money. Just go to the movie.!
Over an hour on hold. Turned an online typo into a 3-5 day corporate resolution.
Use application with caution!
I am suppose to be VIP. But anyways I ordered 2 tickets to go to see "All Eyes on Me" I was not able to go so, I clicked I am not able to go to the show, received a credit with Fandago the JOKE. On Saturday 07/08/17 I re-ordered the show for Sun 07/09/17 at 1:20 p. M an emergency came up I was not able to cancel. I called today, to see if I could receive a credit they tell me that I should of cancel a hour before the movie start. Smh I feel all they had to do is call the dam theather and see if we attending, and give me credit. I was not asking for my money back. SO NOW I TAKE A LOST. WHAT KIND OF $#*! IS THIS. $#*! FANDANGO!.
Read it for yourself
Jair: Thank you for contacting Fandango Customer Support. My name is Jair. How may I assist you today?
Terry: We got stuck in traffic for over an hour and couldn't make our movie. I'm requesting a refund
Jair: Purchases made on Fandango.com are only eligible for a refund before show time. Once the showtime starts we are unable to process any kind of refund or exchange for Fandango credit.
Terry: so you keep my money? Even though we didn't get the product?
Jair: Though I understand your position and I appreciate the effort you have put forth to clarify for me, I am still unable to grant your request. Fandango endeavors to give our customers the best experience we can, but we are not always able to grant every request.
Terry: My effort to clarify that I didn't get what I paid for? So no refund or ticket replacement? How is this a "best experience"?
Jair: We are not always able to grant every request.
Terry: I don't see how I am asking for much in this case.
Jair: Once the showtime starts we are unable to process any kind of refund or exchange for Fandango credit.
Terry: OK, I see... would like to say thanks for your assistance. But, seeing as you haven't done anything but take my money, I guess I will pass.
Jair: I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration. Do you have any other questions for me?
Jair: If you need anything else, we can be reached Monday-Sunday 6am to 10pm PST. Thank you for making Fandango your choice for online movie tickets. Have a great day!
Let me start by saying I messed up. I purchased tickets via Flixter, which I had done before, and never received the tickets. The reason was that I mistyped my email. OK... shouldn't be a big deal, except when I sent an email the response I received was that they would get back to me within 72 hours. Whoops, the movie was the next day. As I didn't receive my tickets, I went to the theater and bought two more. I get an email on Monday (original purchase was on Friday) saying that they only refund tickets that haven't passed the movie date, but please call to discuss. Talked to Albert, nice enough guy, but he immediately let me know he couldn't help, he had to escalate the issue. OK... so today I get an email from Sakariya Farah (fandango customer support), letting me know that because of policy they could not offer a refund. So ok, it's a measly $20.00 but to screw over a client who would and has spent much more using their service is pretty damned stupid. Whoever is in charge should take a course in customer service. I can recommend a few other things that they should be doing, but rant is done... so am I with Fandango...
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
Fandango has a rating of 1.1 stars from 1,232 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fandango most frequently mention customer service, gift card and convenience fee. Fandango ranks 325th among Movie sites.
