I couldn't cancel my order online because they don't give an option and by phone you have to call within the first 15 minutes of processing it, what if I placed the order at midnight? Terrible and rude customer service
I placed an order with Express on January 1st, but soon realized it was set to be delivered to an address I hadn't used in two years. Unfortunately, customer service was closed when I discovered the mistake. Once I was able to reach them, they informed me that neither cancellation nor address changes were possible. Following their advice, I contacted UPS, only to be told that they hadn't received the package yet and to check back with Express.
Two days later, I called Express again and was informed that although the order couldn't be canceled, they would update the address since UPS hadn't shipped the package yet. The next day, I received an email stating my order was delayed, which I assumed was due to the ongoing address correction. However, after confirming with UPS that they still didn't have the package, I felt relieved, thinking the issue had been resolved.
Surprisingly, five days later, the package was delivered to an address in Utah—I live in Tennessee. Reaching out to Express once more, I was advised to dispute the charge with my credit card company as they considered the item delivered and couldn't offer further help. Despite multiple follow-ups, they suggested I contact the Utah recipient to send the package back at my expense, even mentioning a $7 return fee if I managed to retrieve it. After escalating the issue, the only recourse they offered was to continue disputing the charge.
Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating. Dealing with unresponsive customer service and receiving no practical resolution has dissuaded me from recommending Express for online shopping. I am not sure what to do at this point but I want to help others by sharing this experience.
And this digital age we order many things, actually most things, online. I have ordered from many brick and mortar retailers plus the typical online retailers and never had a problem returning items that did not fit. I bought two pairs of men's golf shorts online and my usual size and when they arrived they were too large. I sent an email to customer service asking how I could return these as there was no link on any of their many emails to me regarding the order. Customer service responded that they refused to take any returns or exchanges online and I would need to actually walk into a brick-and-mortar store to exchange them even though the store does not stock the items! I probably spend in excess of $20,000 a year online shopping in this company will never get another dime from me!
Called customer service stating my order never came. Sheen answered that didn't understand English well. Ask to speak to a supervisor, they left me on hold. Terrible customer service, I also called Friday
Returned a item today and Tammy the store manager went above and beyond for me and was so patient and professional. Thank you so much Tammy and the express team looking forward to future purchases at one of my favorite stores.
I received a giftcard (which expressly states that it can be redeemed at Express.com), but when going to checkout it says that giftcards can only be redeemed in-store. This is a ridiculous policy and should be repealed ASAP.
Wish I could rate a 0. Just went in to shop casually for some basics when I notice EVERYthing in Express is, evidentially, see-through. This isn't buyable to me! :( lmk if you found something not see through besides jewelry.
I have been an Express customer for 25yrs and love their clothes. Their customer service has gone down hill. No one is helpful, they barely speak english and keep you on hold for 20min to the same song over and over. All I wanted was to exchange a shirt for a bigger size and the rep couldnt comprehend it. Get service agents in the US and stop getting foreign reps that cant understand your simple request.
Beware of express commenity bank fraudulent activity. It will take 10-15 days for them to withdrawl payment from your account then they rack your credit card with multiple late fees and extra beware of this scam. The company is complete crooks hope this store goes out of business for their unethical scams of ripping the American citizens off. And making money from ppl with late fees and returned ck fees
God forbid you make a mistake on your order. I needed to changed the shipping address after I ordered my clothes and they wouldn't let me change the address and the order hadn't even been processed. All because I called 40 minutes after and not under 30 minutes after I made the order. What kind of rule is that?
So not only could I not get my clothes, I didn't get a refund either and I'm out $80. They said take it up with the delivery service, even though THEY wouldn't let me change my address.

I purchased an overcoat online at the Express January 31. As of February 5, I still have not had an email confirm it shipped. Called customer service 3 times with a bogus reason it was stuck in shipment at a store. Another representative said it has not been shipped at the distribution center. Bottom line is this the most horrible shopping experience. You expect to call customer service with a resolution. They email the point of contact instead of calling to ship the item. First time order from the Express and last time. I'm getting a refund. I'm over it! Stay away from online ordering at the Express.
I placed an online order 3 times the item was never available, it's was out stock. Why their website dont reflect they actual inventory baffled me. This a big company that can't even keep a record of their items they selling. I called them regarding the status of my order 5 times at least and they told me that their website is updated every Monday. What kind of bull is that. Why put an item on your $#*!... website if you don't have.
My wife bought me these jeans late last year. They have been worn a handful of times before the waist seam started coming apart and a weird thing started happening in when washed and dried with my Levi jeans...
After contacting Express to let them know they were only interested in me finding my receipt when clearly these are fairly new Express jeans...
I bought these shoes from express in Charlotte NC. They looked good and they were very comfortable. However, after less than three months noticed they started splitting on the side. I'm highly dissatisfied and highly disappointed and I use to love shopping at express. Don't buy these... EVER!
I buy some of my clothes from Express online or from its store. I am having two important issues from online ordering:
1. One of the items is always wrong. Since this is repeated many times, I believe that they ship wrong item intentionally to make money because price of such item is much lower than the one I order. But they are similar color. For example price of polos ranges from 25 to 50 dollar. I order one, if it fits then order two or three more with different colors. In the last two orders the cost of polo was $50 each, but they replaced one with $25.
2. Quality of clothes and jeans from online store is much lower than the ones you can get from the Express store. You can get the same jeans or polos from Walmart or Member's Mark with $15 or less.
Express has to fix its business practice and quality of online stores.
Bought a dress, substandard material, snagged on everything. No return or exchange, yes I got 1 wearing, however even with dry cleaning can't wear it again. I've shopped at express for years. Never again!
Placed an order, 4 days later still processing. Sent them an email, no response.
Contacted them through facebook after a week "we'll look in to it now for you and get back to you soon".
All of a sudden, receive an email "One of more items below have been cancelled from your order as it's no longer available".
The whole order gets cancelled despite everything still being available on their website.
What a waste of time. Plus having hundreds of dollars tied up as a pending transaction for over a week. Then they claim the can't cancel the hold so it's another 5-7 business days before the funds will be returned.
Not impressed.
Poor customer service.
Do yourself a favour, look elsewhere.
I placed an order and was promised to receive the items in 7 days. I have been waiting for two weeks now. Whenever I call them to ask about my order they tell me it will be delivered tomorrow. They put you on hold and don't answer. Never ordering anything from express ever again.
I've made my last purchase at express. Purchased a coat and wore it out a couple nights. Was freezing - decided to return it, admitted I had worn it and lady immediately said "if it's been worn I can't take a return" wow. Too bad for express, we have a large family with large income and have shopped at express considerably over the years. Clothing is such an easy item to purchase from competitor unlike many other purchases. I would never recommend a purchase from a company that gives customer a hard time when returning, especially a store that is not considered a discount-bargain store. Walmart has easier returns. No I won't be going to Walmart but won't spend another dime in express, just because of the treatment.
Placed an online order. Added a gift card plus my debit card. The whole order came out of my bank account. Called to have them correct their mistake only for them to tell me there's nothing they can do. I would need to reorder and return the 1st items when they get delivered! Wow it's 2018 Express, you need to improve your system up and customer service! Beyond dissatisfied!
