Once you create a membership with Experteer. There is no way out. You can't call them because they are in Germany. You can't cancel your membership in your account settings. You can't cancel via their contact us page, because it just redirects you to your account settings page. When you email them to cancel, you get an automated response with no follow up. We've been trying to cancel with them for months. Instead of just cancelling the membership, they kept the membership active, and now are claiming our account is overdue. I logged into the account for the first time in months and not one recruiter has viewed the profile. Ha.
This is a scam. It is of no value and cancelling the service is near impossible...

Experteer does a good job of appearing professional, but they are internet scammers. I resigned my membership, but made the mistake of not documenting it. My wife checks our credit card statments and did not catch the recurring charges from Experteer. I had a very had time contacting Experteer. They are in Europe with no telefone numbers in their website. When they finally got back to me by email, they said that they could not only not refund my money, but that they could not cancel my membership for another 2 months!
They also have some high pressure resume services that work with them that will find fault with your resume no matter what in order to sell you their services. Scammers too.
Gregory,
First of all, thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our service, and I want to apologize for the difficulties you had in reaching us. Our telephone number is publicly available online, and we're happy to speak with you on the phone, or per email.
In order to cancel your membership, we require a confirmation - once a profile is deleted, the information and connections are erased permanently, and so we try to ensure that the user is positive about this decision. If you'd like to discuss this matter, please contact our customer service team. We value our customers and are dedicated to resolving any misunderstandings that our users may have.
Furthermore, if you'd like any information on how best to use the site and our service, we're happy to offer some tips on how to optimize your Experteer experience.
Regarding our career service partners and resume review services, I'm sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your results. These businesses offer another perspective and helpful advice on how to structure your resume. Of course, CV standards between industries, countries, and job functions, but I am sorry that you were unsatisfied with your experience.
Once again, thanks for sharing your feedback.

Useless site for jobs, you can easily find the jobs they advertise on it if you google it.
No recruiters, nothing.
CAREFUL with memberships, they hide the fact that it will get renewed automatically unless you cancel it (which is super hard to find it). SCAMS.
Deceit and unscrupulous. Thought I was applying for job w/LinkedIn. Instead, it was a false page for Expeteer which took my info, sells it & now spams me constantly. It reminds me of The Jobs Ladders scam site. In any case, I keep trying to "unsubscribe" to no avail, so I just "blocked" them. It's a scam & I did report them to the FTC just to inform someone of their predatory and creepy business practices.
Avoid this service, it is a money pit. If you have a subscription, make note to cancel BEFORE the renewal date or you will be out of money.
This service is European and is not working well in the USA it is a waste of time and money.
Now making some noise.
I paid for this service with hopes of getting a 6 figure job since I do have 3 Masters degrees and 30 years experience. I paid them for a year or two (it might be two years) and applied for countless jobs I am 100% qualified for. I did not ever get a "thank you for applying" indicating the company I supposedly applied to got my application and resume. Never did I get an email stating my resume was reviewed and was not sufficient. NOTHING has ever happened. Furthermore, I have unsubscribed from getting their emails from flooding my email account no less than 8 times and they STILL come to my email! I'm ready to sue whoever runs this POS. They are a rip off, SCAM.
They keep sending jobs with no relation to my profile even though I also paid them to write it- scam
Jobs offered up near zero correlation to what you ask for. Cancellation is a total trick and scam to try to get more money out of you.
Avoid at all costs. They are utterly rubbish.
I cancelled my "premium" subscription on their website in March. They charged my card again in April. After I contacted them they refused to refund my card, claiming that they sent me an email to confirm the cancellation and I did not respond. I do not know if this is true or not, I did not see it. (If they indeed did send such an email most likely like most of "form" emails it ended up in a spam and was auto deleted after a few days.) The idea of forcing me to "confirm" my cancellation through spam folder is a crooked one -- if this is their "procedure", it obviously is designed to steal money form people. Refusing the refund only confirms the suspicion that the whole "business" of Experteer.com is borderline fraud. In any case as their so called "premium" service, it offers nothing that other free sites do not offer. It is copy and paste from thousands of job sites. I can't imagine any serious company would look for their experts in US using "copy and paste recruiter" con artists in Germany.
Stay away!
Dear Ex,
Thank you for your feedback.
On behalf of Experteer I would like to apologize if you had a bad experience with our service.
I am sorry if you missed the email asking you to confirm your cancellation. Please feel free to write to me directly and I will re-check for you.
Experteer is not a "copy and paste recruiter". At Experteer you can find many jobs from the hidden headhunter job market, that are posted exclusively in our network and also many jobs from small companies, that can rarely be found on other job boards. These jobs are worldwide, not only in the US. Our job database is very up-to-date: Currently we provide over 300.000 job postings for senior-level executives with earnings of at least €60,000 / £45,000 / $100,000 per year. In order to offer you the best possible quality and up-to-dateness of these jobs, we replace approximately 8.000 jobs per day.
Experteer is a professional career service for executives. Each year we help thousands of candidates into new jobs - here a few examples:

I cancelled my membership after find the site not worth the leads it was sending. I cancelled twice, and was charged after i cancelled BOTH TIMES. Still trying to get a refund and am processing a chargeback.
I subscribed for the premium option for a year only, starting 2017. One day before the end of the subscription, and without any 2 weeks prior notice or warning,( which is ILLEGAL) the site tried to charged my credit card. Although they claim it is still possible to cancel until 24 hours before the end of the subscription it was IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL THE RENEWAL on the website (it was blocked). I wrote a claim and of course the answer came 48 hours later! This company provides nothing, very likely a scam. Don't sign up!

I am sorry if you missed the information re. The prolongation of a Premium Membership. We do clearly state this when you sign up. It is easy to cancel a premium membership (in your account or by email to us), you can do this even 1 day before prolongation and we confirm every cancellation in writing within days.
An earlier prolongation is not possible. The prolongation always happens as announced at the beginning (when you sign up). You can always check this in your personal account in the area "My Account". Here you see the status of your account and how long your premium membership is. Your invoice is also there and it also states the length of your premium membership.
We are happy to check again for you, our Customer Service Team is available by email at support@experteer.com.
Please also feel free to write to me directly. Thank you.

I signed up for Experteer special offer giving 6 month package for £37 which I consciously signed up for. They automatically signed me up for auto-renewal because that was some hidden small print in their sign-up page, I was never given option not to sign auto renewal. I soon found they are completely useless and had no intention to renew (I was ready to forgo my £37), however they charged me with much higher amount (£65) after 6 months without informing me and strangely they did not even inform me AFTER deducting my payment. They have 14 day clause where you can argue about amount deducted but I did not even get that chance. 2 months later I found it through my card statement and they refused to refund pointing to small print. I am not sure how they are allowed to operate in UK with this model. I hope consumer protection service does something about this as it is clearly an unethical practice. I have no doubt this they are fleecing many other customers in the same way. Avoid this useless service
This company is not legitimate. They will highjack your LinkedIn account. Be careful when you click on an apply button. You might get rerouted illegitimately to Experteer.
An automated site that seemed just to feature jobs I had already seen elsewhere (for free). I uploaded a profile, no one visited it! I found absolutely no benefit in my premium membership.
DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THESE CON ARTISTS
I have gone to the Police and I am taking them to court!
THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE WEB WHO HAVE HAD MONEY STOLEN FROM THEM, DO NOT BE THE NEXT TO SUFFER
Dear Toon,
Thank you for your feedback.
On behalf of Experteer I would like to apologize if you had a bad experience with our service.
I cannot confirm thousands of other people complaining about Experteer. Sure, there are a few on the internet but also very positive, even though it is a matter of fact that statistically people publish more negative experiences than positive.
If you do not cancel a Premium Membership, it prolongs. We do clearly state this when you sign up. It is easy to cancel a premium membership (in your account or by email to us), you can do this even 1 day before prolongation and we confirm every cancellation in writing within days.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS Did nothing for me, then paid for premium and nothing changed, then wanted more money for premium features?.
This site is the worst and you cannot get hold of them to complain or unsubscribe.
Authentic scam. They tell you that they are going to give you access to the best job offers and as soon as you pay for the service you see that they are exactly the same that you can see at no cost on other portals. And worst of all, once they start charging you they keep charging you in advance and without warning. AUTHENTIC SCAM AND INEFFECTIVE JOB PORTAL.

This site has no benefit to job seeker, for a hefty fee 174 EUR/year and then automatically renewing with only one notice. They do nothing.!
I gave up on the site after 2 months, where nothing was realized, did not cancel and now they are debating that I have to renew, even though, there has been ZERO BENEFIT for me the customer.
The matching of positions does not come close to the CV uploaded!
The recruiters are actually another link to other ATS/application tracking systems. No replies whatsover from the recruiters!
This site is full of "middle-man" and Linkedin does it for free and no intermediaries in a lot of cases.
Overall, a disaster and I am debating with just representative to cancel my renewal and there is no way out, even though I can prove the site has DONE NOTHING
Hope this goes on and on and on, and that EU Consumer Protection protects us job-seekers.
An absolutely awful experience. Signed up to be able to see opportunities within the remuneration range looking for. The site states a certain amount but when you click on the opportunity itself, it forwards you to the site where it is actually advertised and is NOWHERE NEAR the remuneration levels they suggest within their site. It is pretty much false advertising and almost fraudulent in the scale of mismatching.
The headhunting aspect is practically non-existent and the one enquiry I had was not even close to the skillset match.
I attempted to cancel and the cancellation process did not work. Their lead times for cancelling are way off the mark for sensible customer satisfaction (you have to give notice almost as soon as you start the subscription).
When I was charged for six months automatically, I asked for it to be cancelled explaining the system did not work and they refused 3 times over a period of three weeks to refund stating it was not possible to refund.
It is entirely possible to refund, they chose not to.
Please don't go with this site, the experience is awful, the information misleading and adds no value (more detracts value) from the job hunting process. They have proven with their customer service that they are not interested in the customer or adding value to the job hunting service. They are a website scraping service that provides misleading information. Avoid.
They should be seriously re-evaluate the experience of their website and customer service they provide. They serve no-one except themselves.
Answer: Agree with B H. Total scam! No communication whatsoever, no value, terrible site but they do charge a hefty fee for their yearly premium which is almost impossible to cancel as you do not receive any confirmation of the cancellation. But hey ho, few days after the original subscription ended I started to receive demands for payment for another year even though the account was deleted! BEWARE!
Answer: I had a terrible experience with Experteer- no job leads, abhorrent customer service.
Experteer has a rating of 1 stars from 98 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Experteer most frequently mention credit card, customer service and auto renewal. Experteer ranks 323rd among Job Search sites.
Dear Jane D.,
