I almost clicked the button to sign up for an account, then decided to check on reviews. When I found there would be a charge, it threw up a big red flag. I've been contacted by a headhunter before - a real one. I didn't pay for anything and they matched me up with a company I really loved.
I thought maybe policies and procedures had changed since then, so I asked Google and this is what came back:
A headhunter typically does not charge the jobseeker; instead, they are paid a fee by the hiring company, making it highly unusual for a headhunter to charge the candidate directly for their services; this practice is generally considered unethical and not standard in the recruitment industry.
They will not get a penny of my money.
Did not get a single job lead from them. Tried to ensure that I am not charged again - but no option to see your subscription status or cancel autorenewal on your profile. You have to email them to do that!
Be aware not to get a trial membership (2,95 only). Experteer will convert this automatically extend this to a regular membership (400 per year)
Don't buy Experteer Premium. It is rather cheating with the subscriptions. By clicking on "yes", "ok", "next", you agreed on lots of things. They extend charging you automatically secretly without letting you know, because you clicked on "ok". It is true that some recruiters started to email you. But they either contact you once and never respond you ever again (calling or email without any response) or they contact you with really obvious irrelevant positions. Experteer is a dying business. StepStone, Monsters, Xing, there are lots of free job markets other than this. LinkedIn is much better because of its dynamic eco system.
Zero jobs… literally every single one of their headhunters has a goose egg as far as opportunities. They email you to death but you pay for zero. Nada. Zip. Stay away.
My recent experience is exactly like the ones already indicated. Received an invoice on 01/20/23, for services for 01/20/23 -04/19/23. I responded to cancel on the same date and was told that I would have had to request cancellation on 01/19/23, the day before. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to send me a message threatening that If I did not pay the invoice, they were going to add additional charges! As mentioned by other posters, I was referred to the small print. Don't waste your time or money.
Experteer is a company that is "legal", and they are legitimately mobbing the customers. I have paid a one-year subscription, and seen that there are far more better job sites, completely free... These guys are sending "legit", "elegant" professional emails about how who have to pay another yearly subscription - that I have not ordered.
They are recharging automatically. I can see that other peoples have problems with them also. This a clear violence against customers act, and I wonder what is the police doing?! This is mobbing of the worst kind, I mean there is a policy on internet - if you don't want to buy something - how they can have the right to send you "legit" mails?
Absolutely ridiculous, they ask you for all kinds of details on your profile and aspirations, then only at the very end do they reveal that you have to pay large sums of money for their "services". Biggest waste of my time, I will not give them any second thought
Experteer is one of those job sites that you must pay to become a member of. Then you get to apply to jobs that don't exist or are already filled or are on the other free job sites.
They bring zero value.
After 7 days trial period, autopay for 3 month will cost you more then $100. They will not inform about prolongation of membership. They just take your money.
Signed up for a premium subscription with payment for 6 months.
Paid in advance for 6 months.
After 6 months, I received a message about payment in advance for another 6 months.
I decided not to renew because the service was not suitable.
I asked to terminate the contract and pay in proportion to the period used. They refused and sent an agreement which stated that if I do not notify of termination 14 days before the date of the advance invoice, the agreement is considered extended.
In our progressive times - when everything is for the Client, with such a short-sighted attitude towards the Client, this company will be left without clients.
I looked at other reviews and realized that it was my mistake to choose this company.
This week, I received a receipt for $179.70 for a six month membership (let me repeat, a 6 month membership) to this organization. I cannot tell you when I have been on this site, but it must have been years ago. I was even looking for a job in the last year, but it never occurred to me to look on this site. I reached out to their customer service team who told me that there was nothing that they could do about my $180, that it was legally their money and they would keep it. This tells me that they are desperate enough to take money from people who don't use or want their services, so they must not have enough satisfied customers to meet their revenue goals. It is so disingenuous and I would not work with this organization if they were the last one on earth to have quality jobs. Luckily, they are not and I would recommend that you find another one and stay away from Experteer.
They keep threatening me to pay £82 for services I never used. I read reviews about them and froze my bank card and now they keep sending me emails to pay for a service I never used. This company should be close scammers! They want my hard earned money for free. Well they arent getting any. Freeze your cards if you have to save your money from these thieves. They talk abt premium membership when I never saw a single job on their site.I got a new job using indeed and I never paid anything for it.I aint paying this company $#*!. Thieves preying on peoples hard earned money.I would give a zero if I would
I did not buy a long time subscription on purpose but by accident, hard to cancel, lots of spam mail. Smells a lot like scam. Not going to pay the bills for sure, stay away from this
Total scam, fraud and has to be illegal. Please don't give them a cent! Not only was the service itself a joke but just like everyone else here they are really just tricking you into re-subscribing. Even after I had believed I had cancelled they recharged me after 6 months. As soon as I saw the charge and cancelled again and was told too late no refunds. Received the exact same canned responses as many others show on this site. Stay far, far away!
A 3 month trial subscription proved to be a nightmare as they include a default renewal check box hard to spot. On top of this, there is no service at all other than a list, no more than every other free job site. A complete hoax with no added value at all, we receive automated suggestions based on our previous choices, no analysis. Clients are no more than victims for making easy money out of honest people. Shameful.
Worthless service! Complete scam! They trick you into an ongoing membership that drafts your account and ridiculously challenging to cancel! They do absolutely nothing for you and take a great deal of money. I am so embarrassed that I am even having to write this review. Run!
Just another in a row of fraudulent services. They've charged amounts from my credit card without any notification and when I've apparently understood it, they were claiming that under some disclaimer they inform you will be subscribed and automatically charged until you cancel (btw, you can't cancel it from your mobile but only from your computer). SAve your money and stay away from Experteer
Worthless service. Received no contacts from recruiters. Most positions identified as "matches" had no fit with my background or experience. Tried to cancel after the first six months but would not refund the renewal. A complete scam without any concept of customer service.
Whatever you do, do not invest one penny into this company. They provide nothing to help jobseekers and prey on the fact that you will forget the exact date of your renewal. Every other reputable site makes you aware that your premium is coming due, and those that do not, GLADLY refund your fee if you call within a reasonable time. I called that day as soon as the payment was posted, and was rudely turned away. They are not in the United States, they are based out of Germany, with no clue about customer expectations or service. They hold on to an agreement that you have to accept to get their services, clearly a bait and switch. If they were doing their job, there should be no need for a renewal in the first place, because your new job would have been secured.
Hello, I hope to help others, but my Bank of America fraud department suspected a fraudulent charge against my credit card. I checked my email and got an email titled "Payment was not successful: Please verify your payment details" from an email address listed $#*! Experteer Premium <*******@reply.experteer.com> which looked very legit, but I suspect was a scam. See picture of email I got.
I am going to unsuscribe from this company and don't think I've ever done business with them. It must be a scam. I did a search and emailed "*******@experteer.com" and asked that they take me off their email list if this message actually came from them. I suspect it didn't, but I don't know.
Answer: Agree with B H. Total scam! No communication whatsoever, no value, terrible site but they do charge a hefty fee for their yearly premium which is almost impossible to cancel as you do not receive any confirmation of the cancellation. But hey ho, few days after the original subscription ended I started to receive demands for payment for another year even though the account was deleted! BEWARE!
Answer: I had a terrible experience with Experteer- no job leads, abhorrent customer service.
