If I could give Expedia and AIG a 0 rating, I would. The travel insurance is a scam and a rip off. Unfortunately, they have no sympathy nor do they stand behind their word, during this terrible pandemic when things can change so quickly, as far as trip cancellation and refunds. I am VERY disappointed in both services!
AlI Always use the mobile app to make Hotel Reservations at a reduced rate. Great Deals on rooms. Alto of useful Reviews from past occupants and list of all amenities. Easy to look up nearby available rooms and compare rates. Also earn Discounts for rooms booked to receive bigger discounts. This is my app for all my hotel stays.
We booked a family trip to Disneyland using Expedia and a travel agent, and flights got cancelled with Air Canada (never use this airline). I phoned Expedia and they did not help at all. They would not help to find alternate flights, and we ended up cancelling our trip. Expedia would not help to cancel hotel reservations or Disneyland tickets. They are eager to book and take your money, but will not help when things go wrong. I will NEVER use them again to book a big trip.
I arrange a fair amount of traveling but will never use Expedia again. It's customer service begins with an aggravating auto-answering device, with layers of menus leading to loops. Its customer service staff appear very badly trained and after a few times of being left hanging on the telephone for up to 25 minutes, I gave up on Expedia.
I recently cancelled a return trip booking made with Expedia. I've been assured by the Expedia staff that I will get my refund credited back to my credit card account minus the cancellation fee.
Am a bit worried reading the negative reviews about Expedia.
Anyone able to shed some light if the refund will indeed be made?

Expedia gave completely inaccurate information on a Fox car rental, then have failed to take responsibility when the car rental charged over three times the amount. They also charged for insurance that wasn't accepted by the car rental
Company. Customer service at Expedia agrees that I should be issued a refund but then nothing happens. Stay away from Expedia!
Expedia has saved me more than once when traveling. I've needed last minute hotel or flights many times and Expedia is always the first or second site I check for a deal. I'd guess that at least 70% of the time Expedia search results show me a deal that I like
Normally save quite a bit on rental cars and flights. There should be a way to change departure and arrival locations without having to reload all of your trip info. Other than that, it is pretty easy to use, and is a genuine money saver.
*Free cancellation* turns to *non refundable* before you can change your mind. Expedia will not refund, but will gladly spend 2 hours with you on the phone explaining how they cannot do a thing to help you, and they are going to keep your money for a room you never use.
Expedia is known as the best for rental hotel but not cars. They are good at presenting services but lack in customer support regarding refund and other stuff. Need improvement for better customer support.
I must admit I usually use booking.com for my accommodation when travelling but this time I found a great deal on Expedia. I was unsure whether the accommodation would give me the type of room I wanted but I was very happy upon arrival. Expedia is one of the better known brands so it gave me lots of assurance. The booking process was simple and I would have no hesitation to recommend them again. Very happy!
Thought I'd write another review seeing as I am on and we recently used expedia. After searching around for a flight and hotel in Miami they got us a great deal for a week at under £1500 for the two of us. The hotel was fantastic and the flights were as much as you would expect from flights. A good sight to save the hassle of looking about.
Get the run-around on refund. Have been going back and forth with them for over a month. Absolutely worst customer service. I have used them for 25 years and the company has gone to hell. I will never use them or their sister companies again.
We used Expedia to book a room at a hotel with trip protection. We had an issue where we had to cancel our plans well enough in advance but Expedia made it impossible to reach someone that could help. We called, we sent emails, and we followed Expedia's customer service requests. They asked us to contact the hotel, we did, and the hotel told us to contact Expedia because they were the only ones that could help us because they have our money. Expedia purposefully creates a catch 22 so they don't have to refund your money for services they never provided. I will never use Expedia and highly advise others to never use them too.
Booked a 3 day trip to Cuba $2,164, the next morning I see a 4 day trip to the same place for $1,650. Expedia will not refund or change booking, unless I pay another $180. Buyer beware! Deal with someone else! This will be my first, and last vacation with Expedia!

I've used Expedia quite a few times over the past year. Are they as good as other sites? I don't know, but I've been happy with Expedia and their customer service. Had to make a change in a reservation and the agent on the phone was extremely helpful.
Rented a car from them with insurance included but when I got there, the company said I needed a letter stating that the card covered the insurance. I never herd of this so did not have it. Have rented from other companies where they knew the card covered it. They raised the rate to almost double so went somewhere else for cheaper. I cancelled the charge and called Expedia which told me there was nothing they could do about it. Have never and will never use them again.
Expedia will rob you. If you are looking to get bent over and taken advantage of then be my guest! Expedia away! These crooks lead you to believe by paying $22.00 if changes need to be made to your flight arrangements then your covered. This is a lie, the only way this benefits you is if someone dies or a natural disaster. At that point, be prepared to obtain a death certificate to prove your claim and wait 2 months for the credit. This is a bad deal folks and American Airlines was affiliated with this scandal. Expedia blames American Airlines yet are the ones deducting the funds! All in all roughly $600.00 for a $300 flight along with hours of our time on the phone! Congratulations Expedia and American Airlines we fly often and will never use either of your services again.
I booked airfare with Expedia for Aegean Airlines. 4 days before the flight I needed to return home to the U.S.A. due to personal health problems. The next day after returning home I contacted Expedia Re: Refund or Credit. I was promised a reply in 3-7 bus. Days. 1 month later Expedia hung up on me. For me, NO More Expedia#
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
